I always stored my extra mags inverted to keep dust and dirt out of them. It is easy for a stray round to fall out and become lost in the bottom of the bag. They probably took some work stuff with them in those bags, so they didn't empty them 100% before travel. They probably don't have the luxury of extra bags just for traveling. No guns. Just a few rounds of ammo. Two, in this case. No, they did not place ammo into their luggage before traveling. Not everybody is rich and has dedicated bags just for traveling. This was the carryon bag and likely the bag he uses every day for work. Some rounds got loose from the extra mags he probably keeps in there but removed prior to travel. Dense, small rounds will go to the bottom of the bag and be difficult to see. You have to know you are wrong when you speak about two rounds of ammo and call it "guns and ammo". Those two rounds hold no danger for anyone without the actual gun required to make them lethal.

i wonder if all the "people" talking about "no excuses" live life without breaking any laws regardless of where they are, and if they break a law do they turn themselves in and demand to get the highest form of punishment?

  • @seansvid

That law is CRIMINAL. Suppose your enemy wanted you gone. All he would have to do is plant a tiny ammo round in your luggage, and you'd be locked up for 12 years.

not the fault of anyone other than the carrier of the ammunition. if these people are that careless with random rounds of ammunition and are not able or willing to follow simple, basic rules and guidelines - why should they be allowed to possess and own a gun!

Which is more stupid; forgetting ammo in your bags when you travel internationally or; a 12 year sentance for two bullets? That seems to be cruel and unusual punishment even if they are stupid I dont see evil intent. They must not want American tourists anymore.
