Welcome to the best band on the planet. Love your dancing. phish is the absolute best band in the world to dance to, there's always more so you can just throw yourself into every jam... the net's unbreakable, don't worry about falling. Do Divided Sky next! The drummer also plays a vaccuum cleaner sometimes 😂
Oh man, this was a fantastic reaction video. I'm telling you, if this was your first time hearing Phish, and that was your reaction, this is a band you have got to get into. Subscribed, hoping to watch you dive into Phish!
Its such a beautiful thing to watch someone react this way, my goodness it makes me happy to see other people happy and having a good time with great music. She smiled the entire reaction.
I shed a tear watching you experience that. Phish has brought so much joy to my life and it made me so happy to see it in you. We are a family:). Welcome!
"These are old men, i wonder how long they've been doing this.. a banger!!" Love it, happy I landed on this reaction. Great response. Oh, and... 41 years. They've been a band for 41 years which is 3 years longer than I've been alive. I started seeing phish in 2003 when I was 17. I recommend "You Enjoy Myself" from IT festival 8/2/03 and from the 90's play Down With Disease from 12/1/95 for starters... Can be found on youtube. And yes, this song originally wrote by Phish Keys player, Page McConnell, Bassist Otiel Burbridge and drummer Russell Batist (RIP). Saw them in Ithaca NY 4/21/02 and Bonnaroo 2004!
If this is your reaction on first listen, you will melt into a puddle at your first show. So excited you found them. Squeeze every last drop while they are still doing this.
One of my fav Phish jams. Saw this song twice this year. Completely bonkers! 🤪 it's a song from the keyboard players solo act, Vida Blue, who i got to see 20 years ago.
As a 30 year fan who is closing in on 100 shows, I really enjoyed your reactions and observations. Really appreciate your genuine awe because it is what I experience continuously watching and listening to them. If you want more to “melt your face”, there are a few great versions of songs I can suggest for you to react to.
This jam gives a really good sense of the kinetic movement between the 4 guys, it's almost like sonic hypnosis at its best. The intensity of the peaks in this one are overwhelming in themselves, and they just over and over angle it upward and take the groove round the corner and into a new level of peak bigger than the one that came before. The recording mix is perfect.
Loved this reaction! You were groovin! Phish is a strange phenomenon. They have been together for over 40 years, and are one of the most legendary live bands in music history. They have a massive dedicated following that will go “on tour” with the band, traveling to each show on the tour schedule. They consistently sell out arenas, including Madison Square Garden, in NY, where they are only second to Billy Joel in total sold out shows played at the venue. They play a 4 show run around every New Year. They have held their own festivals, where they are the only band, that have drawn upwards of 80,000 people. Their festival “model” was the inspiration for now massive festivals such as Bonnaroo. And on the millennium new year, they were the largest live performance in the world at their Big Cypress festival, where they played a set that lasted from sundown till sunrise on New Years Day. They are still playing at an incredibly high level today, and through all that, they have remained somewhat ignored commercially. Their albums are great, but have never been billboard hits. Their live shows were always the thing that made them special. You should check out some more Phish! I recommend Slave to the Traffic Light from the album, “A Live One”. Thanks for bringing me a smile this evening!
This is an awesome place to start with Phish. It's originally from keyboard player Page McConnell's side project Vida Blue in 2002. I love that it's found a place in Phish's live rotation!
This is actually a Vida Blue song. Page's side project. You won't be disappointed digging deeper into their catalog. Try Taste, Reba, Stash, Monsters, or You Enjoy Myself as your next reaction 🎉 Definitely explore some King Gizzard, they will scratch every musical itch you have.
She got that groove in no time - welcome. You'd prob get lost in it at a live show. "These are old men!" haha after seeing them for the past 25+ years I find myself saying that most shows now as I look around. But it is still hands down the best live experience. Go get it while you can.
He’s wearing a mu mu. Yeah, their live performances are addictive. I’ve seen them 41 times in less than three years. I’ve seen the last three New Year’s runs and I am hitting up this New Year’s as well. That will be great if you could give the date of the song which is pretty important to phans. I’m pretty sure I was at the show.
YES! Phish is the best live band in the world, have been since the early 90s, Trey Anastasio (guitar) is a genius!! Welcome to the party, do more phish!!! Subbed!
Phish, the best export from Vermont since Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream, and Maple Syrup. The members are: Trey Anastasio-Guitar and Vocals, Mike Gordon-Bass and Vocals, Paige McConnell-Keyboards and Vocals and Jon Fishman-Drums and Vocals. And the fifth member Chris Kuroda, aka CK5, the Lighting Director, and THE BEST in the business. Saw Phish about ten times back in the 1990's, Mucho Funo. BTW, NOT the Grateful Dead Part Two, they are their own thing completely.

They're definitely not the best singers. However, when you become a fan, it's almost endearing, like hearing your dad sing to you. It feels very 'real feeling' and intimate, even if it doesn't sound perfect. I can understand why people hate it though, of course!
I've been a fan since 1990 (first heard of them in 87 when I first arrived at UVM, where they formed). Let me recommend the songs You Enjoy Myself, Harry Hood, and Run Like an Antelope from the 1992-95 era. I'm very happy you found Phish.
seems like you already know that the trick is to surrender to the flow. You should check out Punch You In The Eye and/or Harry Hood and/or any number of their other killer songs.
I have always respected Phish, but as Greatful Dead lover have not been willing to step into the Phish arena. Thanks for letting me dip a toe in the water.
I've been following the Dead since 84. And also following Phish since 92. Just since this past August I was at the three Phish shows at Deer Creek near Indianapolis And then the following weekend I was at the last three Dead & Company shows at Sphere in Vegas. Just five nights ago I saw Bob Weir and the Wolf Brothers with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. I also have tickets for the Bob Weir & Wolf Bros New Year's shows in Ft Lauderdale... It has most definitely been my life's pleasure. Going to as many Phish and Dead adjacent shows as possible. They are both good medicine for your soul.
You might like their new song "What's going through your mind!" Great reaction! Hope to see more phish on the channel, I subbed just in case! Another good one to start out with is their performance of harry hood from 12/31/93, which can be found on youtube!
I love that you picked a relatively less played song of theirs. They have been for 41 years when they first meet in college at the University of Vermont in 1983.
@@katzpdx I arrived in 87, saw a Phish poster that first week, then got into them in 90, and saw my first show at Barre Memorial Auditorium in 91. I heard my first song, Contact, in a house across from the UVM library.
This isn't a Phish original. This is a song by their keyboardist Page on his solo album. You should check out a lot of their original stuff over the years. And with you groovy moving, you would fit right in at a show ;)
@@matthewparkerdixon I know this. Been seeing them constantly since '93. Just wanted her to know that since it was her first hearing and it was a "cover".
Can't really get behind the person's reactions... Holocaust denial and diminishing the effects of systemic racism is insane. Doesn't really mesh well with anyone who's "read the book".
I’ve been a phish Phan since 1997. I’ve never heard this song. They do a lot of songs they don’t put on albums. Greatest live jam band there ever was. But my current favorite group is King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Find them doing Crumbling Castle/The Fourth Colour. So damn good.

Phish is the greatest band ever. So happy you just discovered them! You’re in for such a ride!
@gratefulphan77 Almost the greatest band ever. Bunch of Deadheads will argue that point. They're darn good though.
That was a spiritual experience. Please do more:)

Possibly the purest and cutest reaction I’ve ever seen about the Best Band in the Land.
Welcome to the party! You dance just like us.
Thanks for making me so happy watching that
Love that you are reacting to a recent tune of theirs. You have three decades or more of Phish to go back and explore now. Enjoy!
