Ah, the Opel Monza - love it. I've no room - but if I did - I'd have the Monza as my 80's car! (Dizzy = 70's. Keith =90's) I'm missing an 80's in the middle🤣

Monzas are really very nice looking coupes. Loving them as well. But the prices also increased for them already. Around 5 years ago it was the best chance over here to get a cheap one. The 80s were also very nice - I still have my Audi 80 for this purpose. And well, my new daily driver is from the early 00s, hehe. So I don't have anything from the 70s nor 90s ... so perhabs we should both team up to fill out the gaps, lol

The TC2 cannot easily distinguish between the Cortina as you say. The colour looks like Nevada Beige or at least that's the colour we had.
The XJS as you know mine is a facelift but more like a mk1 facelift this one is the later facelift often referred to as a celebration model and the easy way to tell is the body coloured and heavily moulded bumpers. The wheels are also a give away the one on this are the 4 litre style the v12 had wheels a bit like the TC2 at the start. I agree good chance it came from America as it has the boot mounted high level brake light this was something they had on American Corniche.
The Lada an earlier one is very near to the original Fiat124 at this point which is what it was based on.
    Good show Sven

About the names of colours I don't know really a lot. I just now a few older VW/Audi colours - and of course from some cars I owned.
Ah, very interesting to hear about the facelift. So there was even more happening about certain details. What I absolutely like about this series are the black tinted tail lights. They also make the rear end looking wider compared to the former series. Such a beautiful car - so long and elegant. But still wondering it's actually a 2-seater. I was always believing it's a 4 seater by this size. So it's currently the longest 2 seater I am knowing.
Oh yes Glyn, the old Lada Shiguli is looking very much like the original Fiat 124. The funny thing is that all of these Shigulis, including the Riva are based on the Fiat 124. Although one facelift looked quite like the 125 but it was still based on the 124. In Poland they had the Polski-Fiat 125p - it was slightly bigger than the 124. In my childhood I can only remember about the Lada Nova which was called the Lada Riva in UK. Cheap car but also a car that did rust away too soon. But I'm still happy to see some of them. It's quite often happening that people are simply giving away a car because a repair costs more than the car is worth but forgetting what they can get for the money they're spending into the repair.
I am currently seeing this at a colleague. He fixed his Golf IV and it was quite expensive and now he's giving it away for a bargain to get a newer car. But well, I did such kind of a mistake once before with my Mercedes W210 - the next owner is very happy about the car. We sometimes make stupid decisions because we don't know how much money we still have to spend into a car but forgetting the fixed parts will not break again. But of course there are also some garages fixing the stuff that actually isn't broken because they don't know what's actually wrong. Electronic gremlims are really a p.i.t.a. about that. So the mechanical stuff is usually not so much of a problem, the rust can be quite expensive but also something you know what's wrong. But the electronic stuff ... there can be a simple thing being the issue for a fault.
