Thank you for putting yourself out there, this is something that is so hard to understand unless you’re going through it. I had a baby girl 5 months ago, and I remember the first two weeks after the baby the blues hit HARD and I would cry at every single thing and feel SO guilty about my toddler even though he was doing so great. People would say I just need sleep but It happened with my first too and I would pray every day that I would feel better. I would just say Allah please don’t let this last more than 2 weeks because I don’t know how I can do this feeling so emotionally volatile. After 2 weeks I felt more like myself alhamdulillah which I’m so grateful for, but I realized how much hormones can completely take over and make you feel like another person. Like it’s truly not you, and that’s important to understand. And the anxiety…it’s such a difficult test. Your hormones change so much for so long, especially with breastfeeding, that coupled with lack of sleep, so much responsibility, it can really pile up and it’s hard for people to understand. It doesn’t mean you’re not grateful. Just putting myself in your shoes and imagining having those feelings again… I’m so sorry you feel like this, you WILL feel better, I’m proud of you for seeking help. It will NOT last forever. I will make specific dua for you inshaAllah. Marah, be EASY on yourself. You’re beautiful, capable, have your health and a beautiful baby boy MashaAllah who loves you, who has a wonderful mom and family. May Allah heal you, soothe your anxieties, build within you a fortress of love and comfort in Him and allow you to heal so completely you soon find it hard to remember what it felt like to go this, ameen! ❤❤
Also, do not compare yourself - everyone struggles with different things at different times. I just ask myself, am I trying to be a good person and do the right thing? Because how Allah sees us is what truly matters at the end of the day. Sending love ❤

I had ppd with both my daughters and had never had depression or anxiety before. I feel like both the changes in my life plus my hormonal changes fueled it. I am doing so well now (kids are 10 and 12) there is light at the end tunnel! Praying for you, I know the despondent feeling well ❤

I also believe that when a baby is born everyone tends to care more about the baby, naturally, but a lot of times the mother is overlooked. I feel like no one asks if she is truly okay and that is why postpartum depression is overlooked in many women. Professional help and family support are really important for you right now. Hope you will overcome this inshAllah. Thank you for speaking up because it takes a lot of courage.

    Aslm ww beautiful Marah ❤
I gave birth 9 months ago and suffered postpartum depression since then. I had severe anxiety and depression during my pregnancy that spilled over till now. SubhaanAllah watching your video, it's as if I'm talking because I'm going through the exact same thing. The emotions consume u and you get lost and can't seem to find your way back. My baby is everything to me, I am so grateful for her and I wouldn't change a thing Alhamdulillah where she is concerned. But I hear you. Its incredibly difficult. I will make special dua for you my love ❤. Always remember that the greater the test, the greater the reward ❤. If ALLAH brought us to it, HE will get us through it.
Take time for yourself and be easy on yourself (I know its incredibly difficult because I am extremely hard on myself too. I feel like I'm failing everyday) Remember that you are trying so hard and you're giving your best every single day. In Malik's eyes, no one can be a better mother than you. There is a reason Jannah lies at our feet and our duas are accepted as mothers. In Surah Luqmaan, ALLAH acknowledges that a mother carries her child in weakness/difficulty upon weakness/difficulty. So if even our ALLAH knows how tough it is, rest assured that if you place your trust in HIM, you will never be abandoned or disappointed ❤
Also, please don't ever let anyone make you feel like you're being oversensitive or invalidate your feelings. PPD is real! The mom guilt is real! The struggle is real! It really does feel like you're drowning or screaming and no one can hear you. I totally get it!
Just know you have a sister overseas that is fighting this battle with you ❤. May ALLAH shower you with HIS special 'aafiyah Aameen Ya Rabb. Read lots of durood, it's calming for the body ❤
You grew a human being from scratch! Bi'ithnillah. You nurture him everyday Bi'ithnillah and you get up and try even though you're struggling, you are a superwoman! ❤
Please take care of yourself, you are so precious. Lots of love ❤.

I went to every Dr to see why I cannot breath and they all diagnosed me with post part um anxiety! I highly recommend finding a therapist to help you through it and get techniques to combat the negative thinking! My daughter is 3 years old and I’m finally starting to feel like my self again! There is a study I read that it takes 3 years after a baby is born to feel your self again!! Hang in there it will pass just please get help! It’s so relateable what you’re saying😞 I’m struggling with PPD too, but I can’t cry, I’m so negative too, I don’t wanna talk about it with anyone, I feel like my husband doesn’t take me serious but on the other hand I feel like that’s part of the negative thinking. Now I’m pregnant too and it’s even worse bc I’m sick and the mom guilt is x100 (like feeling guilty for not being able to properly care for her, and to ‘get another sibling’ like I’m replacing her which obviously not..) . I also feel like I can’t really remember all the milestones and how my baby was. She’s 17mo so struggling together🥺

I suffered from depression after my babies and although you know you have so many blessings from Allah including a healthy baby you can't help the chemicals in your brain making you feel rubbish about everything and not allowing you to enjoy your life
In the end i took the anti depressants, within 6 wks i started feeling normal again, honestly there is no stigma, don't feel guilty about it, we take meds to fix other issues so if you need the meds to fix your mind its OK

Most women these days don’t get proper help or support.. there’s no village. Motherhood is getting lonelier and and lonelier so it’s no wonder most women don’t have more than 2 kids these days. We struggle and feel depressed naturally because of how hard it all is and then people just slap on a ppd label and force drugs down our throats instead of actually fixing the root of the problem

I can relate soooo much to this video 💕 I am a 27 years old revert living in Berlin with my husband and 1.5 years old son and suffered from severe postpartum depression when my son was 6 months old. It got so severe that I had to take medication - thankfully with the help of medication and therapy I recovered quickly and can finally enjoy motherhood now. But I had all the symptoms you share … it is such a terrible disease and I feel so sorry for everyone who has to go through it ❤️‍🩹 but I know that you will and I am sooo touched by your strength and courage to talk about it. You will help so many people with this video and get so much hasanat for it 💕 wishing you a speedy recovery my dear and much love from Germany ❤️‍🩹

I’ve had all the things that your going through with my second baby. They only thing that got me out of it was God! I started reading His word everyday more and more, and the more I got into His word and His truth the better I started feeling. Just wanted to tell you that He is the only one that can get you out of this. No doctor or other human being is able to do what He can do.

Also if anyone reading this. Self care helps a-lot. Connecting with you body. Bringing that awareness back to your soul will help for real. At the end. This is a test from God!

Another point that my physiologist recommended was to do a self check. Like stop what you are doing, close your eyes and feel what your body wants. If u feel dry/ dehydrated than drink water.

This is really scary. I am not sure if the depression has always existed or it is just recent and as a result of our generation putting so much pressure on themselves and compare themselves with EVERYONE. Can you discuss this with your doctor and mother? I really want to know the cause and/or origin to honestly avoid it myself.

There’s no cause or origin…it happens due to your hormone levels…it’s not something you can avoid

Sometimes thinking negatively can also trigger it. It’s normal to have it in the beginning due to blood loss and hormone fluctuation, but if you stay in the past, or your thoughts are negative, then you can stay in that headspace.

Aslm can u not join a support group for new moms or some spiritual help( ayats of quran , thikr) to recite . Such advice from a parent, elder or imam can also help.
Will keep u in my duas.
I used to wonder? You seemed to care fir malik , home and fam gatherings.
Appreciate your opening up and kindness still in trying to support other young women and moms.
    BarakAllah hu feekum
