Hello everyone in this build video there is a special bonus segment, starting at the 11:09 mark. A walkaround of a REAL F-86 Sabre. Filmed here in New Zealand at the Classic Flyers Aviation Museum. Located next to the airport in the town of Tauranga.
Sadly, the footage is not the best since it was filmed on my old phone, back in 2021. But it is very rear to see a historic aircraft in the flesh. Yet alone be allowed to sit in the cockpit of one. So, it makes a nice ended to the video. With that been said, feel free to post the comment section. What historic aircraft you have seen up close in an Air Museum or at an Air Show. Thanks for Watching & Good Luck with all Your ongoing projects!
Great video! Very nice build and thanks for sharing the Sabre film footage!! I have one in the stash and was concerned about the decals. With your technique in mind I should not have to worry!
Thank you I am glad you loved seeing my brief walkaround of a real F-86. Also good to hear that the way I applied the tulip decal, will help you with your build of this kit. Good luck with your build and thanks for watching.
Nice one 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻 An eye catching camo scheme.....sounds a bit of an oxymoron, doesnt it? Pleasing to my eye though. I don't know if you saw it, or even if youre interesred, but Greg's Models uploaded a hand painted AC119 about 4 days ago. Very interesting, i thought......
Thank you so much. You are so right it is a bit of an oxymoron to have an eye-catching camo scheme. Then again it seems appropriate for the F-86 Sabres of Jagdgeschwader 71 "Richthofen" to have rather outrageous colours on their aircraft. Guess they wanted to keep up that old German tradition of painting crazy colours over a fighter aircraft’s camouflage pattern. Also, I am happy to hear other larger channels like Greg's Models. Are still painting the odd model with the mighty brush. Will have to check that video out. Thanks for watching!
Thank You so much. I tend to use a few drops of thinner via a disposable eye dropper/ pipette. Mixed into a small pool of paint with a paint brush on a paint pallet. Its often thinned where the paint is free- flowing than paint that has come out of the tube/pot. And I often apply my paint in a few coats with plenty of drying between each coat. I hope this is of some help for you. BTW Also as Sic-fi & Horror Movie geek. I love your profile pic too. Roddy Rowdy Piper from John Carpenter’s THEY LIVE. If I'm not mistaken. That reminds me I need to give that another rewatch one of these days.

Very nice build. Out of curiosity, how much do you thin your paints?

You are correct. One of my favorites. Strong messages for an action film.
