  • In this video, I take you on a tour of my latest build, which is another Chevy Astro. It is a 2002 AWD LS model that has been built to a level 3 solar stealth camper.
This is the cleanest, lowest mileage, single owner vehicle that I have acquired so far and it is in excellent condition both inside and out. It has been upgraded to my latest version of the Level 3 build which is completely removable with no permanent modifications done on the van.
First part of the video will be an overview of the vehicle and afterwards, we will explore the updated Level 3 build.
    The Level 3 Build Includes:
    Bed & Storage
    Side Storage (Shelf/Cubby)
    Rear Kitchen
    Solar & Battery

By far one of my favorite Astro camper van builds. Love the fact that you can remove everything and those rear pull out drawers are sweet.

GREAT BUILD. Anyway to maybe buy the plans for this build?we are getting one of these at the high school for the students to build in the auto shop class. We are doing the t case conversion. Lifting it and build the inside but keep it removable for the seats.
    Thanks.

Very nice and l hope the new owners enjoy it. I have a 99 2WD with a make shift camping set up and really like it. It would be interesting to see if you have a “complete” kit and/or building plans available. The is a good amount of thought you put in. I’d have some mods but that is why we are individuals. One issue would be heat (I’d design a modular diesel or propane) and how to limit or stop condensation… not liking waking up to foggy windows.

That sink faucet sounds like the transporter on the original star trek.
    Beam me up Scotty.😂

I love my Astro but it’s getting old. Almost 300,000 miles on her. If I had the money, I’d pay for a rebuild. Best vehicle I’ve owned. Drives great. Good gas mileage. Reliable. Wish I could afford something like this one!

Their well worth rebuilding. I own one. Bought it with 142,000 mi. Kept all suspension greased and added grease zerks to parts that were not greaseable. Put 427,000 mi on the original drivetrain.
Rebuilt drivetrain engine/transmission and rear differential and brakes. All original units. l Spent $4750.00 total should be good for another 350,000 mi +. Great camper for 2 people for sure. Body is just as nice as this one. Looking at doing a 3" lift kit on it and going to 31x10 -50 /15 A/T tires next if I can ever get my wife out of it! 😂

Really nicely done ❤️ where's the toilet and the propane tank kept? Really loved how well put together it is.

Very nice conversion. I especially like that you made it completely removable. Perhaps you didn't realize there is a fourth 12 volt outlet at the back below the rear air conditioner register on the left side.

How do I get the plans for this. I got a 95 gmc safari this size I think. It's small for sure an I want to do this cause it's so small I can figure out how to make anything work.
