i used the floating bridge many a time while at college and used council yard to park my motor bike once a week it was fun to use these shame they had to go . 1968-1971
I went to school at The Deanery from 59-63 and we often went to the floating bridge for a free ride back and borth to Woolston and back at lunchtime and often spotted the Hovercraft going through it's trials... I left Southampton and moved to London in '73 before leaving the country in '77 to work overseas and have never returned to live only to visit family occasionally... Permanent resident and citizen of Australia nowadays for the past 34 years... it's good to see these videos which stirs memories of my growing up over there, and as you can see by my profile pic here on RUclips, I still follow the Saints even though it was impossible to do in the many years before the internet... Thank you 🙂👍
