    I am Taiwanese, and my wife is Canadian. She often describes Taiwan as a place where they will keep forcing you to eat until you die 🤣. Most convenience stores or coffee shops in Taiwan do sell good coffee. Yes, Taiwanese people tend to treat everyone like family, creating a sense of home.

      I loved the food and the coffee may have been one of my favorite parts about Taiwan! It was so amazing to converse with the locals as well☺️ We miss it already❤️

    I have been in Taiwan. Taiwanese are so nice people, very modern and advanced country. I loved it, not like Europeans who looks down for foreigners

    “Come, be in the moment, and enjoy; you won’t regret it” True words spoken of someone being an active participant in a different place and culture. Another fantastic installment in the Taiwan series. We all appreciate your efforts. Thank you!

    Today is May 6, 2024. I just returned from a vacation to Taiwan and by far, the people of Taiwan are the nicest people I have ever met. I'm tentatively planning on returning in a few years.

    If you guys are still in Taiwan. Make sure to get some coffee, whisky, tea, and pastry/bread. We have won many world championships in these categories this year and last year. Have fun!

      @KatieLambie  9 месяцев назад +5

      We are not still there but we loved the coffee and tea! The first two days, I had no idea how amazing the coffee was in Taiwan that I am actually mad at myself for getting Starbucks😭 after I got coffee on this day, I stopped at so many coffee shops and we were drinking like 3 lattes in a day😆 I miss it so much😭❤️

      @@KatieLambie Yes, there are many good personal roasting and coffee shops in Taiwan. In addition, if you have the opportunity, you can also try Taiwan’s 18-day beer and various beers with different flavors, as well as whiskey that won the championship in the world alcohol competition.😘

    I love that you were able to go to a sit down restaurant and enjoy the food! Night market food is great but I love the small sit down restaurants even more. Taiwan has some of the best vegetable dishes. If you have a chance to go back please try some of their fruits too! I live in the US and the fruits here don’t compare at all to Taiwan’s. Since Taiwan is tropical their fruits are amazingly sweet and fresh. Mango and wax apple are my favorite.

    It's pretty hard to find hikes in and around Taipei that are not 80% stairs. It's very hard on the knees. For a boy to whom "hiking" means the Derbyshire dales or Yorkshire moors, it's quite disappointing.

    Going to the night market on a Saturday isn't a good idea. 😅 You will find pretty much the same foods when you go to more night markets.
    In Taiwan, you will often find food that is both sweet and savory, even in dessert pantries. And even mayo is sweet. 😂
    BTW, in some clawing machines, there is a set limit of money you put in and the claw will guarantee your winning with a firm grip. For example $300NTD or something like that.

    • @KatieLambie
      @KatieLambie  9 месяцев назад +2

      I think we realized after this day that we preferred the less touristy spots for food so I totally agree! I just wish we had more time to find places to eat:( and good to know about the claw machines! Thank you for the comment☺️
