Do you think loc styling helps or hinders thickness? I’ve been loc’d for 7 months and recently switched over to palm rolling, previous to this I was interlocking. After retwisting my loctitcian will put my hair in a style, to hold the retwist. I’ve read so many conflicting things on this but your hair is very thick so it would be great to hear your thoughts!
Hey, personally I don’t think styling hinders thickness, however if you do it often, it will. Once every couple of months is not that bad. Personally, I’ve been loc’d for a year and I’ve never gotten my hair professionally styled. However, I do put my hair in a ponytail or two on sundays for church but it’s never tight. My advice to you would be if you were going for a maximum thickness, reduce the styling. Maybe once every couple of months.
@@mimiology1 ah okay, this makes sense - that way you’re not over manipulating the loc, this is something I’ll keep in mind. Once my hair is fully loc’d I plan to take over and do my hair myself. Your advice is much appreciated!! 😊😊
@@mimiology1 thank you for responding. No I am not. I think my stylist is the one who destroyed them, he rolled in the loose hairs and palm rolled from scalp to tip often. I didn't know it was wrong. Please tell me I can get back my fat locs. Wish I can show you. I am sad
@@meyimiogidan8152 well palm rolling does make your locs thinner over time. You can still get them back thicker. Try to spray them with water as often as possible
I have a question! so I started my loc journey on June 14th and now it’s August 1st so that’s like 2 months and a half ??! . idk if I’m right or not 🤷🏽♀️

Also, palm rolling is bad for your locs if you’re trying to achieve think locs. When I re-twist I only re-twist my roots.
@@mimiology1 this was very helpful, thank you for the quick response !!
