@@vantagetes Commenting years late to the party but that excavator was way too close to the edge of the water. If the bank had failed that would have been a rather expensive recovery. The operator should have been at least 10 or more feet away from the edge and used the arms reach to break the dike.
@@nonaurbizniz7440 the operator needed the arms reach to get across to the side I was standing on. The water was only about 1 meter deep, and the ground was all engineered fill so it was of good quality and stable. Thanks for joining the party though!
Its a good way to help keep overflowing breakages since so many dams have been bteaking before anyone thought of ways to help or fix problem good engineering skills, thanks!!!!!!! Be blessed!!!!
Ok. Yes that's a decent sized pump alright, 10 inch I think I heard you say. Wouldn't fancy starting it by hand! Biggest pump I ever had to swing by hand was a 6 inch and that nearly wore me out. Thanks for the great vids, always good footage and commentary, keep them coming. Cheers.
I was waiting on pins and needles for video 2 to come out. Then I took a step back and laughed as I realized I was jones'n to see the dam break. It's the little kid inside I guess. As always, good stuff V.
The squeak was the first thing I noticed too. Were at this game next to Lake Michigan dewatering a borrow pit in sand. 4 cyl diesel powered pump in a borrow pit 24 hrs a day, manned. Monday morning it was over and there was a lake we had dug instead of a borrow pit for a cloverleaf near Muskegon,mi. M-131 highway. We loaded scrapers in water for the rest of the job.
It's 40mm wash rock so the water passes right through it without any trouble, also it's not completely covering the top of the screen filter on the pump. Either way that pump moves a scary amount of water!
Do you get much throughput with that gravel filter? (Looks like it could give a fair bit of resistance to a pump that size, especially as the silt infiltrates the gravel.)
The majority took around a week and then we had to use smaller pumps to shuffle some of the water around (it was still coming in pretty strong in a few places).

the machine weight is the middle as far as the middle is around 1m from the edge you should be fine, the tip of the tractor can be in mid air its not an issue , but also when you do make sure its not the gear side thats in mid air . plus the ground type is not sandy so he is perfectly fine.
Luke Potosky the hole was dug for the suction line of the pump to be installed under a gravel bed to prevent sediment from being pumped into the storm drain system.
Jay Punch sump hole with 10” diesel pump. The concrete structure was just an old manhole that was damaged and kicking around so we used it to reduce silt pickup as the outlet went into a storm drain.
nah quick attach is quite common and now the rototwist are aswell which cost min of $30,000 to attach a bucket and spin 360 the only people who use pin are smaller companies with not much money or bigger companies that can have a machine for every bucket lol

I used to put me knee in the bed of the dump truck and push with the other foot like a scooter
I built dams as a kid just to watch the water push over. I'm 53 and still do it. :)

John, best part is now I get played to play in the mud.
Please keep doing it.

That machine looks to be on a collapsable hill.
I have to say I think so as well. But the operator seems confident of his situation.
It's called a slope or, as you prefer, but properly spelled, a chamfer. BTW, why don't you grow up and use civil language.
Wtf does grammar have to do with anything, your a dogshit operator if u think that digger is gonna fall in

Wuts the objective of digging a giant hole then letting the water in?

What is ' dewatering'? Emptying?
Where is it ??
Думаю, что это видео про то, как не от большого ума, загнали эксковатор на самый край, и ждут когда подмоет берег, и он рухнет в воду. Примерно так.
неадекват,его уберут

Is that just a sump in the hole -- or a whole DMH or CB? Anyone?

Does that excavator have some sort of bucket quick connect ? pretty rare in north America it seems (though standard in Holland)
looks like a standard wedge and bolts to me

WHY NOT PUMP WATER TO EQUALISE PRESSURE THEN REMOVE DAM
Jason Harper BEACAUSE THERES INLY ONE PUMP AND ITA ALSO EASIER TO SEE WHAT YOURE DIGGING INSTEAD OF FEELING AROUND UNDERWATER.
Now where's the fun in that?
Yep, our suction goes straight into the pond then build well point.
