what a gorgeous car..,when living in South-Hampton NY in the 90"s I found a 1972 E9 Bavaria (4 doors/manual) bought from an older man that had kept it in a dry garage & careful maintenance..on the back roads over there it was a great pleasure to drive quick ,one of the few cars I have regretted to sell when I moved..!!
I can't imagine after 20+ years finding a car hidden away like this, disbelief turns into amazement as you realise what lays before your very eyes. This is a special car.
Not a bad chassis to start with for an E9. The subframe mounts and shock towers were the worst parts besides the rockers from the looks of it. All good, gives you a chance to run reinforcement plates which is cheap insurance wether you plan on tracking it or not. Built lots of bimmers and they respond amazing to a well setup suspension/ quality parts especially. Thanks for sharing, nice resto 👍
Wow, amazing work. The amount of skill that went into this. I'd love to see the finished car and a test drive. In my opinion one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
I had a CLS in the 80s. A beautiful car for sure. However, very prone to rust. Mine was only 10 years old when I bought it in 1983. The floor pan was pretty rotten and the front inner wings allowed water and mud to leak in. This was a well looked after car with a massive folder of service history for just 40,000 miles. It was my daily driver for almost 3 years and many tyres and other expense. I loved it but a money pit. Yes, I should have kept it but I’d,have spent what an average one is worth. Happy memories! Look forward to the finished car.
Amazing work, absolutely mind blowing patience and quality of what you are doing. I truly hope that you'll be able to enjoy the car for many years to come once done 😍🧑🔧🏎️
I love the E9 but the extra delicate bodywork inevitable required when putting one back on the road is beyond what I can properly do myself. Stunning job done here. 👍🏻😁
Undoubtedly the most beautiful car of the seventies. I saw them at the European Touring Car Championship in Brno. There in the Alpina and Schnitzer teams I saw them in the pit - a phenomenal experience. Yes, those were still beautiful cars and some of them - like this one, can be said to be designer works of art. Otherwise - awesome video and thanks.
Fantastique !!!!
I have a 71 with lots if rust😢. I don't know whether it's worth restoring. It still drive but it needs to be sorted out mechanically to make it run correctly. I wish I had the skills that you have. That is an amazing restoration
I have never seen such a detailed restoration video.. This is lot of work, and you made something possible which 99% of ppl thinks it is impossible .. Great work!!
I saw a metallic blue E9 3.0 CSi at a garage near by my house here in Thailand. I believe it was modelled on the Fiat Alpina style. I cautiously asked the guys about the cars value --'Could it be for sale'? They knew the value for sure! *We have to try!!
Amazing full detail restoration, for me this shark nose Beemer is one off the most beautiful and special cars from that period off time produced bij BMW…….The fifties, sixties and early seventies wonderful times for petrolheads 👍. But indeed please please show the finished car 😜
From an era when BMW made good looking cars.
Man you need to show the finished product. Don't post a video until you can do this.
Right!!!
Stanley I totally agree
@@reiconm.6532 Why do you feel the need to tell people what kind of feedback is appropriate? No one asked.
You’re right! It is so frustrating not to see the finished car… 😢

This is a special car.
One of my favorite cars of all time! I bought a new 2002 in 1974…fun car, but the 3.0 CSI is and was another level!!! 👍🏻👍🏻😊☮️
Very nice job! Thank you guys for saving this beauty from the scrap yarp!
Da hört die Arbeit nie auf! Wunderschön.
Absolutely one of the best restoration videos I have ever seen. Thank You for sharing this! 👍🏻
That is a LOT of work. After watching this I think I'm gonna keep my 635csi. Its no way this bad of a condition. Great work!
....at least we got to see a thousand shots of the gluing clips, boggles the mind.

Lot of respect , you make the BMW brandnew again. Thanks for sharing.
Oh my God, so much Bodywork... Respect, i will resignate after a while with that much rust...
Wonderful paperweight! It is not driveable on wet roads! Classic BMW from the 70s/80s...
I love the E9 but the extra delicate bodywork inevitable required when putting one back on the road is beyond what I can properly do myself. Stunning job done here. 👍🏻😁
What a beauty ! A brand new car !

I appreciated your work on this BMW, especially since I had a 2000 CS, a 3.0 CSi and a 630 CSi... but that was a long time ago ;o(
Magnificent work. My favourite BMW.

I owned 2260126, a 71 CSI ARIZONA CAR WITH ZERO RUST. Sold to a guy in Snottsdale. Still have the D-Jetronic brain.

You being sarcastic? Because this is just a bunch of pictures and doesn't even show the whole thing. Garbage.

Great story... as far as it goes! Stopped just short of the finished restoration... :-/
Before installing a rebuilt engine always test it on a test frame saves a lot of hardworking if it has problems .

Fascinating .
Silly Question : were the wooden dashboard inserts from BMW or specialist made ?
Amazing !
Sin final no lo miren .
Amazing work...
Were the replacement panals OEM or no? Just curious
Beauty ❤
if you've already put so much time into it, it would have been worth finishing it, putting the doors on it, etc
Bravo ✊⭐️😎
Proper job !!
Great restoration, but I have to say that front spoiler killed the look of the car ..🤨😵💫
i would put in a modern b58 in it.
Those cars are a moneypit, but well done! And good luck with it!
Was that your experience when you had one?
