i forgot what seed it was i think it was "captainsparkles" or "ssundae" but on the xbox 360 it spawned you next to a village with a zombie spawner next to it in a cave. the fun part (well not fun for the villagers) is that the zombies have an easy path to the villagers.
One I fondly remember was 10110101. In fact, searching that seed on google will net you a reddit post called "My House... (seed- 10110101)" that shows just what it was. This HUGE, hollow mountain with a colossal underside chamber that housed a few spawners. I think the reason this seed stuck with me so much is it was the world seed I used when I first ever tried modding Minecraft, with the old, old airships mod.
Seeds made me feel like minecraft was truly full of infinite possibilities, id spend after school afternoons just typing as many words as I could think up just to see what I could generate. This video resurfaced some great memories!
On XBOX One Edition, I actually found a really cool seed. The number is a nice rhythmic number, 66568879, and it generates a huge crater in the ground near spawn. ^-^

@@zeeafraud7898 i never played the Xbox edition back in the day but pe worlds used to be so damn small, like just a few chunks, it was so simple yet fun
Forgot to mention that worstseedever has a massive cave system connected to the mob spawner. Cave systems that large were fairly rare back then, and it was loaded with diamonds. I built a base in the dungeon spawner room with a arrow dispenser trap and a horrible looking guard tower attached. Some of my favorite memories happened on that seed.
@@PaladinRyanthere’s also a second spawner literally a dozen blocks away from the exposed one under the surface coal on the shore. Worstseedever’s cave also had almost 20 diamonds in it!
If you're nostalgic for the old Beta era seeds, I highly reccomend checking out the Modern Beta mod, which adds a new world type that restores the old world generation. And it actually restores it, not recreates it, so all the famous seeds like Glacier, Gargamel, and 404 actually work. (404 challenge in Hardcore, anyone? Also it uses the 1.18 cave depth so its probably even more wild.) I know you can bring old worlds forward for similar results, but there's something so neat about just being able to load up these nostalgic seeds.
There's also modern beta amplified if you want the terrain scale to match modern scale. It basically doubles the bredth and height of beta seeds, so everything is twice as big
I remember "4" on 1.7 in 2013 spawned you on an island with a ravine which contained an exposed stronghold, was a fun seed where you could make the stronghold your starter base.
I love that some of these seed names you can tell people were like “I give up looking for seed let me just type something dumb” and then accidentally found one of the greatest seeds
The best one is "gimmeabreak", it makes me think somebody was looking for a good village seed and couldn't find any, and then they eventually got tired and just typed "gimmeabreak" and then found one of the most famous village seeds up to this day.
The nyan seed was really special. Back in the time the lava would cause the floor to catch fire (you'd only see smoke particles because fire textures weren't implemented yet) and the only escape was the small island. It's pure nostalgia for me because I grew up with the pocket edition
I remember playing with my friend and the only seed he would ever start a world with was nyan I remember when (spawn eggs?) Were added and we were spamming them around in the lava lol
The nostalgic seed that I often go back to play in b1.5_01 is -11. I found it from one of those websites which advertised "cool Minecraft seeds" and they weren't lying. It spawns you in a small desert but with a MASSIVE cave right next to you. If you go to the other side of the cave/mountain, you get the funky overhangs and mountains. There are some cave systems near the mountain as well.
I remember watching paulsoresjr and Stampy play 404 back in the day and being terrified, and then playing myself and not even lasting the first night, good times
I only realise now that I was typing "gimmeabreak" wrong back then. My friend told me about this seed, and I remember typing it in as "give me a break" and it not being anything special lol
I find it interesting that the seed names were player inputs. I imagine the "gimmeabreak" discoverer was hunting for seeds that spawned the player next to a village and was so frustrated they typed "Gimme a break!" and the Game took pity!
Good video, like always. btw I've done some little research and found out that from 2009 to 2014 mojang changed massively 7 times the overworld generation, but from 2014 to 2021 there weren't any changes as massive to the overworld generation.
that's an excellent fact I wish I would've known for the vid :D i found myself digging through the patch notes of all the updates to see when things were changed. thanks for sharing that, that's an awesome tidbit!
I remember glacier and gargamel and I have to say that I preferred gargamel to glacier. I loved how tightly the gargamel mountains held you in place and how the different "tiers" of mountains naturally guided you to building different levels to your base. So much nostalgia; I wish I still had the old world where I built a wizard's tower but the game updated as I was installing green stained glass to my build and I both lost the world to corruption by trying to move it off of my grandma's old computer and was quickly pulled away because my friends insisted on using the most recent updates and mods. Maybe now is the time to go back and relive some of the memories of those seeds. I wonder if there's a way to copy-paste large sections of a world from one world to another, as I think it'd be awesome to copypaste the gargamel mountains into a modern 1.19-1.20 world and have it walled off like a nature preserve.
I remember I started playing minecraft around 1.2.4 but watching the old top 10 videos which were obviously made for old versions, I worked so hard to get glacier to work
I'm surprised there was no mention of the seed "b". Wide open flat terrain was very rare back in Beta, but "b" spawned you right in a flat field with plenty of room to build whatever you wanted.
Not only was "Nyan" interesting for having lava, it also showed off how primitive fire's programming was at the time. The leaves next to the lava would catch fire, which would then spread to ALL blocks in the world. This resulted in invisible fire completely consuming your world.
my favorite seed is the minecraft xbox 360 title update 9 seed "test" idk if anyone else has discovered it, but it spawns you in the ocean and has a bunch of mushroom islands scattered throughout the map
It would be very interesting to see a video where you load all of these seeds in each terrain generation update to see how the seeds changed over time Edit: maybe also one where you do the inverse: take well known modern seeds and go backwards in versions
i remember two other well-known pocket edition seeds since that was what i played on for a long time, "superpig" which spawned the player near a cliffside village in a swamp, and "villagepls" which spawned the player in between two villages that were generated right next to eachother in a desert. i believe there was also a temple nearby but i could be wrong
man I forgot how much I loved those floating islands that use to generate in the older versions, I remember seeking them out to build my houses on when I was a kid because I thought they were the absolute coolest.
2:50 my first ever survival world was played on this seed. I mined a ton of diamonds... then ran out of torches, broke all my picks, spent 3 IRL days lost in the pitch-black cave system before finally giving up and mining a staircase from nearly bedrock level to the surface with my fists. I finally got back to my house whose walls were made of sand, and as the night set in, a creeper blew up my chests by targeting me through the wall. And here I am over a decade later still enjoying everything this iconic game has to offer. 10/10, would get stuck underground for days again.
I’d definitely like to bring attention to Beta 1.4’s wolf seed, the same update that introduced wolves. It was even advertised by the devs if I remember correctly. It had great mountains surrounding a large almost floating island, which was a big thing back then. I think it was the world that first introduced me to the concept of seed finding, too.
Let’s not forget about the “Funny Numbers” that you can use for seeds(that probably won’t be as funny but worth trying): creashaks organzine(letter combination for Seed 0, also the name of one of my OCs because it sounds cool) 69 (funy six number) 404 (already mentioned here but it’s still funny number) 420 (Waldo blaze it) 1337 (nostalgic and somewhat irritating-to-read type-quirk slanguage) 2763 (funny number from Battle for Dream Island, which I guess could also go for X, 4 and 2) 6969 (69+) 42069 (combined funnies)
I used a seed called “turnofthetides” it was an awesome flat seed with lots of riches, gravel and stone pits and great caves. Lots of nostalgia for that one. I remember Deadmau5 had his own special seed
I remember one world I found in the very old version of Pocket Edition (back when Nether Reactors were a thing and worlds were very small) I generated this one world with a giant mountain that engulfed like 1/3 of the world. Back then, this felt like it went up to build height.
Pocket Edition veteran here! Nyan was one of my absolute favorites, but for a slightly different reason. Looking back on it, it’s kinda dumb, but let me give some context. Back in those days of Pocket Edition, there were no naturally-spawning cave systems. You had to strip mine for all of your ore, which is also one of the reasons the 0.4.0 seed was so important. Knowing exactly where you could find a deposit of any ore, let alone diamonds, would save you tons of time and stone pickaxes. But, back to Nyan, there was a hidden “cave” in one of the mountains. There was an indent on the face of a mountain, and if you dug a bit further into it, you came across a little hollow pocket with grass on the floor. No mining value at all, but my 11-year-old brain thought it made the absolute best base! Especially if you covered the indent with stone, you could pretty much make a fully natural secret base. Even back then, my fixation on it was probably a bit dumb, but I had at least 3 survival worlds using it, including my very first, if I remember correctly. We’ve come such a long way since then, but that seed will always hold a special place in my heart. I actually clicked on this video hoping to see Nyan referenced, and you delivered! Now I’m going to go download that recreation, I need to see if my cave’s still there…
the Seed "Sprite" was a survival island seed, spawned you on a small island with no land anywhere else and like 1 tree, I dont think it works anymore but was really cool back then
In official releases 1.3-1.6, the seed "woo" spawned you with a desert temple, well, and surface dungeon nearby, with a second dungeon in a cave beneath the temple. A great start, if you ask me - I was thinking of the splash texts referencing early Minecraft promoters when I discovered it.
One of the best I used in beta 1.7.3 was 10110101. It had a fair degree of fame for a series of mountain arches not far from spawn. Kinda surprised it didn't get a mention here.
Imagine typing in something lewd as your seed as a joke and getting the most breathtaking sight ever, only to realise you're too embarrashed to share it with others on the internet because the name is... yeah.
You can't talk about seed '4' without talking about the other seed '4'. In more recent versions (1.8.9 is the last version to work with it), seed 4 spawns you on a relatively small island, and within the exact chunk you spawn in there is a stronghold, which is visible from the surface of the island. The portal room is submerged in the ocean and cut off from the rest of the stronghold. Unfortunately, 1.9 changed stronghold generation, so while you still spawn on the island, the stronghold is completely gone.
You are an absolute icon for including both sides of the minecraft community rather than just complaining about bedrock like most java RUclipsrs. Sincerely, thank you 😊
As someone who got their start in Minecraft on pocket edition I remember the seed gilgamesh spawning you in a fantastic ice lake that has walls of terrain all around it. This was back when the nether core was a thing, and was spewing out netherack towers so it definitely doesn’t exist today.
DUUUDE I CLICKED THIS VIDEO THINKING ABOUT NYAN!! When i was younger i spent hours making new worlds with the nyan seed and just messing around making different bases and it was something so special. i just loved nyan cat and that’s how i discovered it. man, thank you so much for including nyan, i didn’t think you actually would!!
I once played 999 on old when I played an older version of Pocket Edition. You spawn in a village in a plains biome with a few oak trees nearby. Beyond the castle was a big hill, but not a mountain, leading to a spruce biome. On the other side was a desert containing a second village. Yes, two villages at spawn. There was an acacia biome near the plains village, and the plains village has diamonds below a place near a small library. Seed 999, World Type: Old. I forgot which version it was in.
Some thigs about the "nyan" seed: Somewhere in this 255x255 block world, there are 1 or 2 sugarcane plants. Dig right under them and you will find 3 diamonds, enough for a pickaxe, and back when I played 0.6.0 on my android, I also found redstone ore nearby, however they dropped absolutely nothing, even with a diamond pickaxe.
Remenents of iconic beta 1.7 and prior terrain terrain can be seen in the landscape of beta 1.8 through release 1.17 if you look closely. It's all flattened and crap, except for in the extreme hills biome. Then release 1.8 through release 1.12.2 we had a custom terrain generator which enabled us to re-create the terrain. And then mojang took that away for some reason. Then they let us customize terrain generation through data packs which are super simple to understand and easy to navigate and a much better alternative to the very difficult to understand and navigate custom terrain generator from 1.8 to 1.12.2
when i was a kid on pocket edition there was this one seed where you spawned really close to a village and in the village well was the end portal, i always would use that seed and make a crazy base lol but i actually never went to the end tho bc i was kind of over it
I remember the first time I played Minecraft. I went to my dads girlfriend’s house and played it on her kids’ xbox 360. I had no idea how to play anything at that time. They put me in creative on a beach, with a mooshroom island not far away. Things I remember doing on this world: -building a house and chicken coop out of prismarine, this is probably the first thing I ever did -making a roller coaster out of bookshelves and calling it some nerdy shit -Making a straight parkour course from the beach to the mooshroom island, all glow stone and no gaps bigger than 3 blocks -Making a kings throne, but it was uneven and looked really stupid - using redstone torches as my only light source -building a prison and putting skeletons inside it What I would give to see that world one more time.
In the early days of Pocket Edition, before lava and water buckets existed (in either game mode), the popular lava seed in my friend group was Holycrap. I was so nervous about typing it in because I thought I would get in trouble for typing 'crap'. I used that seed dozens of times, and I could never possibly forget it. That's a core memory right there.
I remember the Trolldad seed from Beta 1.7, someone probably liked the "rage comics" memes from back then and decided to type it in as a seed in Minecraft, and I think it had a cool mountain or something. I don't remember that much about it, but it's certainly my most memorable world from that time, I built a big building beneath the mountain archway and an archery practice gallery next to it, lol
any og pocket edition players remember getting a flat-ish world with no water using the seed "johnny golden apple?" also, there was another pocket edition seed i really liked called "flat". my sister and i put that in thinking it would give a superflat world, but it ended up being two mountains with a valley in between them. super cool but i remember being sad when it was removed
Gimmeabreak was a blast from the past, definitely the first time I had ever encountered a village. Does anybody remember the superflat version of this? I feel like I remember something of that type
Honestly i am sad 404 hasn't become as popular as various kinds of skyblock challenges with modern remakes and remasters of the concept being available.
Thanks for mentioning the Pocket Edition seeds as well. I had forgotten I played on those seeds and now I remember the chest duping trick and the weird nether we had back then. Good times
I used to play on this one pocket edition seed I found. The seed was "lake" it was a pretty nice seed. Me and my brother played on it a lot together. It worked up until 1.19. It was my favorite seed. It spawned you on the beach of an ocean near mountains and forests. I remember building underground bases inside of the mountains overlooking the ocean. It was really beautiful. I also remember one time when me and my brother were playing on the seed and I intentionally burned our house down. We laughed about it afterwards.
Glacier was my first Minecraft world, back in Beta 1.5. I actually still have that world. I remember building a creeper and zombie statue out of wool on the mountain, and a small watchtower on the peak above cloud level.
Nyan is still probably my favorite seed to this day, just because of all the fond memories I had on it. I remember building a mansion on top of the (at the time) huge mountain with a balcony that went over the cliff, so I could just look over the world and admire the weird generation.
The early full-release seeds give me a lot of nostalgia because I started playing in the era of huge oceans. I remember it taking me over 10 minutes of sailing to find even one small island.
If you still what to play something like 404 instead input 505 it has a giant cave next to it with a ruined portal nearby that has a golden apple to get down there
When you mentioned “worstseedever” my mind instantly flashbacked to a time when I jokingly typed “bestseedever” and played it on 1.12 not long before 1.13 released. First thing I saw when I spawned was a village so I guess it wasn’t too wrong lmao
I remember the seed "Water" having a survival island, a single tree, and a cave entry into a seemingly endless cave system. I can't remember what version it was from, but if i would play older versions for the sake a specific seed, it would be that.
Really sad how beta 1.8 destroyed all fun that any seed could have. Worlds would just have boring "realistic" terrain with nothing but taigas, plains, and oceans. Truly the dark ages of seeds!
I recognize that thumbnail seed anywhere. The 404 seed was actually my very first Minecraft world ever, but I never participated in the challenge aspect of it and instead played the game as normal. The nostalgia is palpable.
one amazing seed i discovered when i was around 7 years old on minecraft pocket edition was "999" on a limited world size. it had a village and a desert village connected to each other at spawn, as well as a savanna, mountain range, ocean, and desert. does anyone know how i can get an old pocket edition APK so i can revisit this seed?
So glad you mentioned the nyan seed for PE. Back in 2012 I recorded a video on my dads iPad on a duplication glitch for that version of Minecraft PE at the time. I also included the nyan seed since finding lava was a big deal back then and where you could immediately find diamonds, gold, and iron immediately. Before I deleted it out of cringe and embarrassment (regrettably now). My 12 year old self at the time was astonished at the fact that I managed to hit over 10k views in one video. Good times…
I remember the "ololo" seed in Minecraft pocket edition 0.9.x versions, very glitched out basically unusable village that partially burned cause of blacksmith lava sources, it's partially stuck in the terrain, there are insane mountains nearby, and also a plains biome with just one huge hole that leads into such gigantic cave system that you cannot possibly find a way out, I spend weeks there really also seed "999" on pocket edition in like 0.11-0.16 era was cool too, pretty nice village close to an ocean with plains to build around.. and also "REVOLT" seed in same versions, even better village with some caves nearby, been playing on that seed a lot..
when I was 8 and used to play mcpe I found out about a seed that was hhh (I think) and it spawned me next to 2 villages with blacksmiths. damn good times
Artomix also worked with version 1.2.x. I played it on that version. And Artemix seed spawned a village in a river. It looks like a mini Venice. It is also for version 1.2. I discovered it by wrongly typing the Artomix seed 😂
i remember both of those pocket edition seeds so fondly, i haven’t heard anyone talk about them in a LONG time If there is an apk out there with mcpe 0.8.0 or older than we can get those seeds back
I don't know how widely known this was but I do know that the seed "it's a pig" or some variation of that for the older limited-world versions of Pocket Edition would give you a massive floating island. Even when the worlds changed to infinite it was still relatively good, giving you a desert with two villages, and in even later versions, a desert temple directly in front of your spawn point. (the infinite world version of the seed I actually re-discovered and posted myself back in the day)
this is the only video that appears when searching up "old minecraft challenge gravel beach" that related to the 404 challenge i had forgotten the name and BOY its an oldie but a goodie, i always had some sort of affection towards it
I remember playing the Nyan seed on PE all the time, so many tunnels were dug in the side of that cliff. Oddly enough I don’t ever remember going behind it.
My favorite seed I remember using was on pocket edition. Idk what version it was, but if you used the seed "FINAL" you'd be spawned in a village, and if you dig straight down in front of the well, you come out in a stronghold and can easily find an end portal. When I'd play with friends, this was always our favorite seed to use
My favorite seed as a child was infq. This was back in 2012, I’m not sure which world generation this would have been associated with. The seed spawned you on an island/ mushroom island biome. The small island would sometimes have 0 trees, maybe 1 if you were lucky. It was essentially a true survivor island seed.
“Nyan” on pocket edition was the first experience I have ever had playing Minecraft. My older brother let me play on his iPod and told me to put in that seed. The nostalgia and memory of playing Minecraft for the first time ever is one of the greatest things ever. Thank you for unlocking that memory for me
There was a seed I played on with my friends when Minecraft released on Xbox 360, that was simply “888” It had an open mob spawner about 20 blocks from spawn, and a neat terrain generation. It’s a very nostalgic seed, but each update we’d retry the seed, to find it was updated, however NEVER disappointed, and often had some of the coolest terrain generation I’ve seen, even trying it today
When I started to play Minecraft, I only could play pocket edition and I hated the small world size, so I didn't play a whole lot. but my friend at the time told me about nyan and that was the old world I played on for almost 2 years every day, because my phone couldn't update to the next version. I did some cool stuff on that seed. I made a giant creeper, a dirt palace, a massive cobblestone castle on the main ridge, and I even mined of all of level 5-10 over the course of a month, only to get like 2 stacks of diamond, half of which was pickaxes used to mine the hole to start with. I was so proud. every shot of that world showed me a spot or shared a memory of something I built, thank you for doing this It made my day.❤
My favorite seed was Map11, referenced on the legacy console editions in a splash text "Map11 has two names!" the seed itself was something like 110813. It was awesome for a harder survival island experience as the island you spawn on never had any trees or caves, so you would have to rely on the bonus chest feature for wood or saplings, and it's easily 40 chunks in every direction of sea, very daunting to explore when Ps3 edition was capped at around an 8 chunk render distance. The entire world only contained six or so large islands, two of which being mushroom islands, and a few dozen tiny islands at certain points. EDIT: Doing a little research, someone online has said that this seed works on 1.8.1, and apparently there's something good underneath the island, but I never found it as a kid.
seed 4 brought me nostalgia but i'm surprised you haven't included seed 11 from pre full release 1.7. if i recall correctly it spawns you on lonely island with stronghold basically exposed by ravine
From pocket edition, the seed was very popular, at least between my friend group. I dont remember much, but ot had a Village next to spawn. I always used it in all worlds i created
Omg i remember NYAN. I played it on a wierd demo for weeks. In this version you were invincible and had an infinite amount of a few building blocks but there was no flying or sprinting and breaking blocks took time like in survival. Misplacing obsidian was so painful
I played MC:PE almost everyday. I remember a seed... I think it was called "avatar", which actually generated avatar-like mountains. That was my creative-only seed. Hollowed out most mountains to create "homes" in every one of them. Every single one had a purpose like mining station, hospital, etc. and was all connected with cobblestone roads. I still have the map saved on my PC. And a map i personally found, featured a deep valley surrounded almost 360° by mountains and another mountain with a hole that went through it. That one i used for survival. Had collected every possible item in that map. Oh, how much i miss MC:PE. The old terrain generation, the way better crafting menu for mobile phones, the BlockLauncher, the countless mods... How cool was the "floating biomes mod" which added floating islands with new blocks and trees. Or the redstone mod before redstone was added. The nostalgia is real.
Nyan gave me SO much nostalgia...I also remember in pocket edition there was "SeedRock," which was popular for it's flat areas but unfortunately had no water. That was my favorite seed and sometimes when I hear certain songs I am taken back to my survival world where I'd built two houses, a school, and managed to chop down every tree in the world.
Worstseedever is so nostalgic to me, I literally remember everything about it, from the top of my head if you dig right next to exposed one there was another spawner with a double chest, a spider one like a hundred blocks away, and the cave you see in this video near by the exposed spawner (which I turned into a very nice house) if you dig a staircase in a certain location you find a skeleton spawner. Overall one of the best seeds ever
I hope you all enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed making it!
the original seed for achievement city
cue all of the 404 seed/challenge not found comments here
i forgot what seed it was i think it was "captainsparkles" or "ssundae" but on the xbox 360 it spawned you next to a village with a zombie spawner next to it in a cave. the fun part (well not fun for the villagers) is that the zombies have an easy path to the villagers.
‘lost’ in around 1.7 , spawned you near/on a mushroom island. I remember it being very popular. Ironic for a lost seed.

@Okay Egg when you think of it it’s kinda crazy how small the worlds were on console and pe. i never got bored in them either
@@zeeafraud7898 i never played the Xbox edition back in the day but pe worlds used to be so damn small, like just a few chunks, it was so simple yet fun
“Herobrine” was always the seed I tried typing in… the fear was REAL man!
Forgot to mention that worstseedever has a massive cave system connected to the mob spawner. Cave systems that large were fairly rare back then, and it was loaded with diamonds. I built a base in the dungeon spawner room with a arrow dispenser trap and a horrible looking guard tower attached. Some of my favorite memories happened on that seed.
good shout! definitely missed it for the video and totally forgot about that cave right off the spawner :)
This was my first ever seed that I tried, very nostalgic for me
@@PaladinRyan please do one forgotten mods in minecraft
I wonder what the person who found that seed was looking for
@@PaladinRyanthere’s also a second spawner literally a dozen blocks away from the exposed one under the surface coal on the shore.
I will definitely check that out. thank you!
that sounds so interesting!
There's also modern beta amplified if you want the terrain scale to match modern scale. It basically doubles the bredth and height of beta seeds, so everything is twice as big
so like old world generation, without new biomes? is there a mod that recreates old world generation with all the new biomes and structures?
@@valleybiitch that's what the mod does...
I remember "4" on 1.7 in 2013 spawned you on an island with a ravine which contained an exposed stronghold, was a fun seed where you could make the stronghold your starter base.
Yes! I remember this!
Dude I also remember that! I played that seed quite a bit! But I also remember the mushroom island seed
Same, I remember putting in this seed constantly when I was like 10, playing on my dad’s iPad.
I remember playing with my friend and the only seed he would ever start a world with was nyan I remember when (spawn eggs?) Were added and we were spamming them around in the lava lol
I built a huge rollercoaster that is lost two times around the whole world
Yessss I had a world on this seed with a gravel house, before gravel could fall
The first PE seed you referenced was also known as “raygun” Definitely a good seed back then, had a lot of fun playing it.
I remembered that this seed had a 9 diamond vein because duplicating diamonds
was wondering why it didn't seem like the same name. I remember building a really large glass base in the cliff above the bay next to spawn.
omg yes, thank you! I recognised it but not the name. Raygun immediately clicked when I read it.
There was also "jpgaming" that generated a cave before caves were implemented into PE. And we can't forget about "infinity"
do you guys remember “its a pig” in PE? with the big floating island
The seed “4” was also the seed of Hermitcraft season 1 making it that much more nostalgic
Nice
The seed 'lost' also used to spawn you in an island back in the beta.
oh wow hidden memory unlocked - totally forgot about lost!
I remember learning about 404 in the official minecraft textbook like 8 years ago lol
there used to be a semi-popular seed on the old version of pocket edition called "bioworld", had insane terrain generation for the time
oh I remember that one! I think it was the first time I ever thought a seed was so cool that I simply had to generate it
I remember glacier and gargamel and I have to say that I preferred gargamel to glacier.
I wonder if there's a way to copy-paste large sections of a world from one world to another, as I think it'd be awesome to copypaste the gargamel mountains into a modern 1.19-1.20 world and have it walled off like a nature preserve.
revert to what ever version gargamel works in. create the world. go back to latest version. join that world again
I remember I started playing minecraft around 1.2.4 but watching the old top 10 videos which were obviously made for old versions, I worked so hard to get glacier to work
Man, I remember having a world with the seed "narnia" when I was like 11 years old. It was all snowy and I genuinely believed it was intentional 😂
Did it get water, too?
Christ I remember how devastated I was when that glitch happened. Hours of work ruined forever
my favorite seed is the minecraft xbox 360 title update 9 seed "test"
idk if anyone else has discovered it, but it spawns you in the ocean and has a bunch of mushroom islands scattered throughout the map
It would be very interesting to see a video where you load all of these seeds in each terrain generation update to see how the seeds changed over time
Edit: maybe also one where you do the inverse: take well known modern seeds and go backwards in versions
I've posted above the demo world seed North Carolina has been used in various versions to speedrun it. Search RUclips for Funkyface speedruns
i remember two other well-known pocket edition seeds since that was what i played on for a long time, "superpig" which spawned the player near a cliffside village in a swamp, and "villagepls" which spawned the player in between two villages that were generated right next to eachother in a desert. i believe there was also a temple nearby but i could be wrong
The seed ‘seed’ also dropped you near a village & some pumpkins, haven’t seen it mentioned yet tho
man I forgot how much I loved those floating islands that use to generate in the older versions, I remember seeking them out to build my houses on when I was a kid because I thought they were the absolute coolest.
Let’s not forget about the “Funny Numbers” that you can use for seeds(that probably won’t be as funny but worth trying):
creashaks organzine(letter combination for Seed 0, also the name of one of my OCs because it sounds cool)
69 (funy six number)
404 (already mentioned here but it’s still funny number)
420 (Waldo blaze it)
1337 (nostalgic and somewhat irritating-to-read type-quirk slanguage)
2763 (funny number from Battle for Dream Island, which I guess could also go for X, 4 and 2)
6969 (69+)
42069 (combined funnies)
the most nostalgic thing about this video was remembering how common the mispronunciation of nyan (NAI-yun instead of nee-YAN) was back in the day
I used a seed called “turnofthetides” it was an awesome flat seed with lots of riches, gravel and stone pits and great caves.
Now I’m going to go download that recreation, I need to see if my cave’s still there…
the Seed "Sprite" was a survival island seed, spawned you on a small island with no land anywhere else and like 1 tree, I dont think it works anymore but was really cool back then
The seed "4" is also the seed that was used for the very first season of Hermitcraft!
Man, seeing Glacier gave me such a nostalgia rush. The amount of hours I sunk into it... good times
I used to love pocket edition's seed "mimi", In it you spawn in a village with an end portal right underneath the well
is it still working
UDA REAAAAAAAAAAAA
4:15 casually using torches in a 404 challenge
Whenever I need some nostalgia, I always come to your channel. Love your content so much, please continue making more videos based on beta minecraft!
that’s the plan :)
DUUUDE I CLICKED THIS VIDEO THINKING ABOUT NYAN!! When i was younger i spent hours making new worlds with the nyan seed and just messing around making different bases and it was something so special. i just loved nyan cat and that’s how i discovered it. man, thank you so much for including nyan, i didn’t think you actually would!!
there used to be a MCPE seed called "raygun", it had diamonds below spawn... its one of my childhood faves
Some thigs about the "nyan" seed:
Somewhere in this 255x255 block world, there are 1 or 2 sugarcane plants.
Things I remember doing on this world:
-building a house and chicken coop out of prismarine, this is probably the first thing I ever did
-making a roller coaster out of bookshelves and calling it some nerdy shit
-Making a straight parkour course from the beach to the mooshroom island, all glow stone and no gaps bigger than 3 blocks
-Making a kings throne, but it was uneven and looked really stupid
- using redstone torches as my only light source
-building a prison and putting skeletons inside it
What I would give to see that world one more time.
I don't remember that much about it, but it's certainly my most memorable world from that time, I built a big building beneath the mountain archway and an archery practice gallery next to it, lol
any og pocket edition players remember getting a flat-ish world with no water using the seed "johnny golden apple?"
also, there was another pocket edition seed i really liked called "flat". my sister and i put that in thinking it would give a superflat world, but it ended up being two mountains with a valley in between them. super cool but i remember being sad when it was removed
Gargamel, Glacier, Stress Therapy, and journey seeds brought so much nostalgia.
Oh God, the nostalgia. I forgot a lot of these, but 404 lives rent free in my mind, such a classic.
Anyone here play the 360 Edition? Yeah, that world generation was so nostalgic, I still play it. Technically, the ps4 version
Good times…
I remember the "ololo" seed in Minecraft pocket edition 0.9.x versions, very glitched out basically unusable village that partially burned cause of blacksmith lava sources, it's partially stuck in the terrain, there are insane mountains nearby, and also a plains biome with just one huge hole that leads into such gigantic cave system that you cannot possibly find a way out, I spend weeks there really
also seed "999" on pocket edition in like 0.11-0.16 era was cool too, pretty nice village close to an ocean with plains to build around.. and also "REVOLT" seed in same versions, even better village with some caves nearby, been playing on that seed a lot..
I remember a Pocket Edition called johnnyappleseed which would spawn you with 2 combined villages and it had 3 blacksmiths
when I was 8 and used to play mcpe I found out about a seed that was hhh (I think) and it spawned me next to 2 villages with blacksmiths. damn good times
I miss the first Minecraft seed I played on. I wish I could have saved it so I’d be able to play on it once more
Artomix also worked with version 1.2.x. I played it on that version. And Artemix seed spawned a village in a river. It looks like a mini Venice. It is also for version 1.2. I discovered it by wrongly typing the Artomix seed 😂
Weren't there some 2B2T players that found the title screen seeds, the world icon seed, a painting's seed and several RUclipsrs world seeds?
yes! I was thinking about making a video on those, but there's already so many that have been done. such cool projects in their own right!
i remember both of those pocket edition seeds so fondly, i haven’t heard anyone talk about them in a LONG time
If there is an apk out there with mcpe 0.8.0 or older than we can get those seeds back
I don't know how widely known this was but I do know that the seed "it's a pig" or some variation of that for the older limited-world versions of Pocket Edition would give you a massive floating island. Even when the worlds changed to infinite it was still relatively good, giving you a desert with two villages, and in even later versions, a desert temple directly in front of your spawn point. (the infinite world version of the seed I actually re-discovered and posted myself back in the day)
this is the only video that appears when searching up "old minecraft challenge gravel beach" that related to the 404 challenge
i had forgotten the name and BOY its an oldie but a goodie, i always had some sort of affection towards it
The main seed I always remember putting in was the “sprite” seed good ol fashion survival island
Thank you for unlocking that memory for me
There was a seed I played on with my friends when Minecraft released on Xbox 360, that was simply “888”
It had an open mob spawner about 20 blocks from spawn, and a neat terrain generation. It’s a very nostalgic seed, but each update we’d retry the seed, to find it was updated, however NEVER disappointed, and often had some of the coolest terrain generation I’ve seen, even trying it today
999 is also a very iconic pe seed
He pronounced it wrong. The Y is a consonant in this word. It's the Japanese word for "meow".
I recently started watching your channel Keep it up its really good and I love this Minecraft content it’s so nostalgic. Hi from Brazil
tysm! Hi Brazil :)
404 challenge fr reminds me of my childhood
Nyan gave me SO much nostalgia...I also remember in pocket edition there was "SeedRock," which was popular for it's flat areas but unfortunately had no water. That was my favorite seed and sometimes when I hear certain songs I am taken back to my survival world where I'd built two houses, a school, and managed to chop down every tree in the world.
Surface mob spawners weren’t all that uncommon back in the day if I’m remembering correctly. I remember liking to explore deserts looking for them.
“...in my 13 years of playing Minecraft...”
Ah, a fellow Ancient! I salute you!
