Nice Dave, still waiting for clear skies to test mine. I'm struggling with RA error and can't tell if its backlash or stiction. I have 35lbs on scope and I was playing with the adjustment screw to see if I can soak up the play in RA - what I did was loosen it all the way and then turn it to just get tension on the 3m screw and then set the position screw after that. I'm not sure if that is the general rule or you want a lot of play to give the spring more room to work. I wish the celestron guys would tell us guidance for this distance screw. I assume you want it lose enough to remove the RA play but screw should have tension on it to allow the spring to work. But I may be looking at this backwards. Maybe somewhere in the middle? I think it also depends on the load. thanks for info - I'll try to do a video of my set up and trials and errors. really struggling with this RA being elongated.
Astronomy East I'm tracking in Maxim so I don't have the phd bullseye graph. Yes I wish there was some guidance. I'm just trying empirically and adjusting till I get round stars. It sound like you have the tension right but if you can link a video I'll see if the RA blobs look like mine.

Can you post PHD2 screen shot with RMS and bulls-eye?

Thanks Dave, I'll try to post a video soon...
