Traditional Canoe Sailing in the Marshall Islands

Went out on a traditional korkor, a native Marshallese sailing canoe design. The wind was blowing about 20 kn over the Majuro lagoon, but WAM trainer Clancy Takia, one of the best canoe sailors of the RMI, had all under control. The canoe is actually the same one as in • Extreme fast ride on a... and • Traditional Outrigger ... but three years later. It was repainted in a brownish tone and got a new sail. It was built by Waan Aelon in Majel - Canoes of the Marshall Islands (WAM) in Majuro, RMI back in 2018.
