Thanks Steve! Good job describing the car. I drove one the other day (night drive too) and I was blown away. I currently drive a Lexus ES 350 2016 executive package which also drives very smooth and quietly however the Audi experience was special. The only thing now is to see how reliable the car is on the long run. No doubt that Audi made progress from 2011 when their engines were troublesome but this has to be proven on this model too.
The interior and dashboard are amazing wow

@1:48 -->> This 3.0 V6 is NOT A TWIN TURBO engine.
It is a SINGLE "Twin Scroll" Turbo
Normal turbos have a hot side, and a cold side. The hot side funnels exhaust gasses around a turbine, spinning the turbo compressor.
Twin Scroll= The "hot side" has TWO SCROLLS (separate air channels) for the exhaust gasses pushing through, rather than ONE. One small air channel, and one big air channel, allowing it to spool quickly at low RPM, and hold its spool all the way to redline with the big channel.
2 air channels (scrolls) = TWIN SCROLL.
Twin turbo = 2 Turbos
Twin Scroll = 1 turbo, with the power band of most twin turbo systems.

Yes audi never gets old some people think my A6 4F is from 2017 or something. A E class and 5 series of this year are looking ugly old now. Audi does it job at this A6 too it looks so futuristic that people still thinking it's a 2030 car.

I also have one pre-redesign model. I enjoy driving it. Mine is 2014, but I don't see any difference to previous years.
How many miles, how $$$ is the maintenance? Cost of oil change? Looking to replace my 2006 Acura TL 6MT.

Great review, Suvs are the new minivans! A safe family car for mom and kids for daily drive while Dad can enjoy his A6! I like that Audi kept the Volume Knob! Very smart! Usually the extra packages adds up, I would go for the base trim, save some money there! No need for all the distraction, just enjoy the ride.
Great review, Steve! Audi did a fantastic job on the A6. I enjoy the styling much better than the E Class, 5 Series and even the A8.

@japanwatchconnection you know A6 has much more quality used in the interior? You know how many family drive A6? E class is a Taxi and 5 series is a police car. A6 is for family comfortable and even better technology.

Steve ... the Prestige model that I test drove DID have the Audi rings shining downward when I opened both front and rear doors

The Audi rings is an option. It’s not standard on the Prestige, although it was added to many of the Prestige and Premium Plus packages. It was available on my Premium Plus package.

As a high-end mechanical watch fan, we absolutely obsess over the smallest details, and there's something this A6 utterly fails on in that department: the exposed cup holders and 12V socket. They look TERRIBLE, like they belong in a base model VW Jetta, not a $70K+ luxury car. As far as I can tell this seems to be Audi of America pinching pennies, because EU market A6s have a proper wooden cover instead of the nasty looking exposed plastic. Shame on AoA for trying to save $1.50.
I've been in and out of the new A6 & A7 several times and I can't stop noticing this first the second I sit down! Unacceptable, especially given how sweet the rest of the car is !
Unsurprisingly the enterprising folks on Audi World forums are already doing swaps for the EU cup holder covers. Just dumb decontenting on Audi's part, similar to how they never offered leather door armrests in the US even on Prestige trim cars until VERY recently. We always got the basic hard plastic while the RoW got leather. If Audi wants to be taken more seriously in the US, they need to stop this kind of crap.
I agree on the cupholder angle...failed to mention that in my piece but it bugged me, too.
Sounds like the audio is of good quality, I was able to hear an 80’s track. I liked and enjoyed the review it’s the 1st A6 of 2019 I’ve seen here. Feels like an exclusive review. Super Coolness.

4:50 The A6 does have logo projection both on the Prestige edition and it's available as an aftermarket option from several sellers for a very reasonable amount.

Drove this over the weekend not a big fan of the turbo unless it's the start/stop feature that makes it slow. I prefer the engine on my 2012 A7 which uses the supercharger to give it more immediacy in takeoff
I do love that supercharger...so immediate.

Ive always preferred saloon cars. They are just so much more elegant. Currently own a diesel 2019 5 series and i doubt id prefer the A6 but its a nice car

I had the opportunity to drive ‘19 a7 as a loaner.
Like discussed in this video.. less buttons. Head and shoulders a lot cleaner yet simpler to learn how to use.
Seat bottoms, we have bottom extenders on our q5 and it was a selling point as I’m 6’ tall- loaner didn’t have that package. If they extended it more to accommodate long legged people it would of been the total package-
I had the opportunity to own 02 & 05 A6 -(07x5-wife’s) and the quality of German made products are head and shoulder better. From 2002 they made it superior then today’s standards; my opinion of course.
Living in central New York.. I enjoyed its ride quality of our loaner.. like a cloud yet nimble enough compared to its size. When driven it wanted to go and the automatic high beam feature made you want to take those winding back roads you often avoid.
I’d like to get some seat time in this A6- looks amazing from the profile and it’s styling which is enhanced doesn’t look over the top as we’re starting to see in the newer models.

I drive a MB E400 cabriolet and have a BMW 440i. So next year when my lease comes to there end. I want the best of both cars in one sedan. I’m crazy about this Audi!

Like us here in Australia, you don't get the base model, which is a 2L diesel, FWD. I'm very disappointed.
And sadly there won't be any RS-specific A6 with a twin-turbo v8 to give the e63 & M5 a challenge.
Does Ambient lighting come as standard? Or is it an option?
Using Google maps is a question mark for me. There are too many areas where there is no data signal, especially here in the southwest desert area. The reason I liked in car GPS is because the entire map was in the system, there was no signal issue. Unless there is a workaround, I won't be buying the Audi, I rely on gps a lot.

What's with the hands free trunk opening? So what, your hands are full of heavy objects, so you should balance on one foot then kick underneath the rear of the car? And that's supposed to be safe and better??

You can also open it with a push of a button on the boot lid or through the remote key. So what is your issue with added options?

I just cannot warm up to Audi's new interior design...
That's kinda boring interior but that what Audi always make, boring but the quality in excellent, you really feel the luxurious of this car. But for me the big issue is that there choice of colors and wood is pretty poor, bmw and mercedes gives you more choice

Reduction in button clutter? Probably the worst "advancement" ever. Now to adjust temperature etc. instead of just reaching for a knob, I have to take eyes off the road and find the controls on the crowded touchscreen. This is a fail. Nothing can replace tactile operation.
How about doing what I did and simply saying you're cold or hot? Plus, the climate controls are on the bottom screen right where those controls are normally. Not distracting in the least.
I set a comfortable temperature before I set off and rarely change it on the move. Sometimes I don't change it for a month or three.
A dream car! For the dealer. Someone, 3 years down the line, is going to be dumped with a total maintenance nightmare. All this tech will go wrong and when it does, you’re f**cked. The Audi dealer is laughing all the way to the bank - with your money in his hand
A Sweet car indeed! I HATE those wheels for some reason. I'd literally take any other one of the optional wheels over the ones on your tester.. This car is definitely on my test drive list.. I've been telling myself I am going to break away from the sedans because that's mostly all I've ever owned but this one looks too good to pass up.

why do you lie? i was drivin this Audi - it has a freakin media solution. three different screens, no switches, absolute feature creep and over engineering. You tap many times on one of the screens before a function starts. menue after menue after menu. A car for video game players - not for drivers.

It's all about the screens inside, the car loses that blend of organic luxury, taste, and tech Mercedes has nailed with it's current crop of cars and SUVs. Audi is just putting in screens to put in screens, and has lost designing an actual interior, for human beings. I like the outside, but the inside is where the sale is made. Give me the Benz!

That dual screen is disgusting. Just wait for a sunny day to blind you... finger print galore. Zero direct access to base functions. All vendors are doing this. Me? No buy car until this BS is over.
My wife and I had a 2019 A6 wagon for two weeks in Germany for a vacation. I hate fingerprints but found these screens to be much better than expected. I had a microfiber with me for interior windshield cleaning. I ran it over the screens once and they were back to perfect.
