@@ICEIOKYI Sounds awesome, I run a marshall dsl-100 with a boss gt-6 in the front to act as a boost, even with my crappy low end v's it sounds awesome.
I own the Jackson King V Pro white with the EMG's 81 85's. This is one excellent axe. When I went to buy a V, It was between a Gibson Flying V and the Jackson. I had the money for a brand new Gibson also leaning towards getting one in white. Well I played both, & found no comparison. The Gibson did not play like I remembered the old V's doing. I always play through my Marshall JCM 800 and had brought it to the music shop that day. The Gibson's sustain was not that great, the sound was not soulful and it felt "cheap". I plugged in the Jackson & I was in heaven. Excellent sustain & sound, as well as the ability to get a myriad of various distortion sounds out of it. It felt comfortable like I had been playing it for years. I immediately took it up to purchase it cause another man wanted to try it out. Its been my mainstay ever since.
fellow irishman! allot to do with the hardware. gibsons as you know got those older pups ....something like p 90s just as you know has like 11 or 13 ohms when you want like 14 or 15 oms . yae gibsons to me just feel like a doctors or dentist guitar someone who knows some blues chords and just treats guitar as a hobby . very rarely you'll meet a shredder on a gibson . usualy its ltd , jackson ... iibanez . idk jackson is home for me they give me what i want in terms of looks ... sometiimes i have to upgrade hardware cause the stock sometimes is sh!t. thats lam ebut all in all jackson is they to go for looking cool and sounding just as
@@ICEIOKYI Thank you for responding. The thing is Gibson has decreased their quality and cheapened their product, while at the same time increasing the price over 75%. Their quality control is not that great anymore. In my opinion Gibson is more worried about their profits than their quality. At this point, they are riding on their name. I just played my friends 1979 Gibson V and it was a dream, not like that junk I played in the music store that was brand new. It is sad. Despite loving my friend 1979 V, I still pick my King V Pro any day.

Depends what you're looking for and how much you want to spend. This particular Jackson model has 22 frets, all Solar Vs come with 24. As of now you get a better bang for your buck with a Solar V rather than a Jackson. Higher tier Solar guitars have Stainless Steel frets, Evertune (if you're into that kind of thing) and Fishman Fluence pickups while Jackson guitars don't (mostly the stainless steel frets, fishmans and evertune are preferential). The thing i don't like about Solar is that most of the higher tier models come with an Evertune (which could be fantastic for most people) and there're very few with a simple hipshot bridge. Solar guitars had a pretty rough time with QC a couple years back, as of now quality seems much more consistent tho. And last but not least, you said that you wanted either this or a Solar 7 string v. Now, the most important question, do you need a 7 string or a 6 string? Cause if you need the 7 the answer is quite obvious
@punchthedude6159 solar sometimes don't have binding. There not made out of mahogany like this one. I shred and play leads and and can get by just fine with the 22 fret and can emulate the 24 pretty much all the time I hit it . I would suggest play both but im always gonna steer people into what i play cause it's from my personal expireince. I think the v is a good option or better I should say cause your getting usa spec king v minus the 2 frets and mop . Thats it other than that your getting allot of guitar for that 1200 .
@punchthedude6159 i just don't like solars design there to . Um organic looking to me . Not a fan of the headstock shape either the ibenaz looking one . I've played them and there for people who play drop c or need multiple strings . Aka more than 6 . Me I play more standard classic / Traditional metal in standard and maybe I will play drop tunings of standard but I don't deviate from really any other tunings. Also I love jackson . And favor them cause of there body shapes and hockey style headstock I love that . And obviously bias but yae. All guitars are for different people/ personalities but jackson just does it for me . Personally. Ps I respect anyone who plays or owns a solar but . Nah there not me.
I disagree I feel the ltd v looks thiner and more bigger . The bottom v has a pocket witch look silly . And jackson came before ltd so it's the other way around. Esp used to use jackson headstocks but had to stop cause it was a jackson trademark. Both great guitars I just think jacksons are more natural looking or ergonomic for me . I hate the ltd viper . Looks like a lop sided Kelly 😕
@@ICEIOKYI Those information about LTd are from like 25 years ago if not even longer. The current stuff LTD and ESP is putting out smokes Jackson, sorry but its true. Since it looks like James Hetfield king v I think around the recording of MoP he had Duncan Invaders on it before changing it to the 81/60 EMG.
