Valem! I study Game Development and Learning Technologies at the University of Southern Denmark, and just wanted to tell you that our lecturer use your channel and videos for teaching VR! You're the best in this field for sure
For those wondering how to make the poke animation, you could do it relatively easily by installing the animation rigging package and rotating the rig of the index finger from the fist animation which was in previous videos. Hope this helps!
Maybe I should explain my problem: I have an UI and I can interact with it using the index finger. But: The hand model doesnt change its "style", it does not close the hand and stretch out the index finger.
This is just what I wanted! I wanted to make a touchscreen tablet but I did not know how, but now I can :D Edit: you should make a tutorial on physics based gun system like Pavlov or h3vr and also interactive water
I followed you tutorial on how to create the XR rig (with the fist and pinch animations), and tried to introduce the poke following this tutorial, but it doesn't seem like anything happens, the animation is still of fist and pinch, what am i doing wrong?
Hello Valem, a question. When poking a UI button, I noticed that after the button is pressed, I cannot poke a button on the next modal that appears. Sometimes poking a button also takes away my ability to grab objects and the ray on the hand with which I poked also dissapears. Would you happen to know why that is happening?
Hi! I was wondering... did something changed in the packages that you are using in the last vr series ? Because i can't seem to make my character walk with the controllers...
Quick question. Are Direct Interactor and Poke Interactor compatible to use at the same time? Thank you for your time and effort put into these videos!
My Oculus handmodels does not make the poke animation if they collide with the ui element. But the Poke interaction works. Where do I add the animation for poking it?
Hey! I'm not sure why but mine doesn't animate the poke or work, but the default poke interactor that goes through the prefab stick works, how can i animate the finger to straighten?
Hey Valem, love the tutorials they're so helpful. I was wondering if the Poke interactor was removed in a later version of XR Tk. I cant seem to find it.
That's amazing, thank you for the video! I would like to request a tutorial on how to add a multiplayer using the same PC, but the other player using the flatscreen, to create a asymetrical gameplay
Hi Kandi, thanks I'm glad you enjoyed the video. :D I have made a video about asymetrial gameplay on my Patreon !!! You can watch it here and it shows you exactly what you mentionned : www.patreon.com/posts/exclusive-how-to-51922022
I know Unity XRI Tk 2.3.0 is in prerelease, but is it safe to use 2.1.x or 2.2.x for projects? I would like to know because the only way to access them is by modifying the Manifest json. Fantastic tutorials, by the way!
Hi, I am having problems with the XR Poke Interactor. I am trying to make it so that the poke triggers earlier so you dont have to move your hand too far into an object for it to work, but no matter what I adjust the values to on XR Poke Interactor they do not seem to have any function at all. Anyone else experience this? Atm the interactor does not trigger at all on smaller objects (like a button 1-2x size of your finger. EDIT: I figured out the problem. Be aware that if your object is rotated the XR Poke Filter axis is also totally different !!! For some reason, my model was rotated so I had to rotate it in the world, and then the poke stuff gets messed up.
I'm having trouble typing text inputs in my canvas, I think I'll have to make a vr keyboard. I couldn't find any references for a native vr keyboard neither any tutorial.
For those wondering how to get the poke animation working. In Oculus > Animation, duplicate the fist animation and rename the file and the animation clip to poke. Bring that animation into your 3D package and adjust the bones to be a poke. Remember to set the keyframes of the fingers into the new pose or it will jump back to a fist. In the blend tree of the hand animator, replace the first fist animation pose with your new poke animation, it should be Pos X = 1, Pos Y = 0. This will set the trigger to pinch, the grip to poke and both to the fist.

Followed this tutorial and it worked flawlessly :) Thank you!

Great Tutorials, thank you!!
A question: Is there a video where you show how the index-finger is animated?
Maybe I should explain my problem:

Is there any way when I poked a button it triggered an animation?
Thats great! I was missing that too! Are we getting any news about the Two Handed Grab?
Yes I plan to cover it in a future tutorial so stay tuned :D
