- Driving Downtown Streets - Dundas Street - Toronto Ontario Canada - Episode 38.
Starting Point: goo.gl/maps/KHbmujgyFA82 .
Dundas Street is a major arterial road in Ontario, Canada. The highway connects the city of Toronto with its western suburbs and several cities in southwestern Ontario. Originally intended as a military route to connect the shipping port of York (now Toronto) to the envisioned future capital of London, Ontario, the street today connects Toronto landmarks such as Yonge-Dundas Square and the city's principal Chinatown to rural villages and the regional centres of Hamilton and London.
Downtown centre
Dundas Street is centrally located in downtown Toronto, about midway between Front Street and Bloor Street. It serves as a major east-west thoroughfare for vehicular, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic downtown and beyond. Since the building of the Eaton Centre and the Yonge-Dundas Square, the intersection of Yonge and Dundas Streets has become one of the busiest intersections in the city. It is estimated that over 56 million people pass this intersection each year. To ease traffic, a pedestrian scramble has been installed.[1][2]
Northeast of Yonge and Dundas is the Ryerson University campus. To the east of downtown, Dundas travels through the older Cabbagetown neighbourhood, and the large Regent Park public housing project fills the block south of Dundas between Parliament Street and River Street.
Art Gallery district
Dundas Street is the address of the Art Gallery of Ontario, which takes a full city block on the south side of the street, at the corner of McCaul Street, just west of University Avenue. The street is also home to many other art galleries, including Bau Xi Gallery, Art Square and Show & Tell Gallery. Just to the south of Dundas on McCaul is OCAD University.

Toronto is the most populous city in Canada,[12] the provincial capital of Ontario,[13] and the centre of the Greater Toronto Area, the most populous metropolitan area in Canada.[14] In the 2011 census, Toronto had a population of 2,615,060, making it the fifth largest city in North America.[6] A population estimate from a city report released in 2013 shows the city is now the fourth most populous city in North America, after Mexico City, New York City, and Los Angeles.[15][16] A global city,[17] Toronto is an international centre of business, finance, arts, and culture,[18][19] and is widely recognized as one of the most multicultural and cosmopolitan cities in the world.
Toronto is a prominent centre for music,[38] theatre,[39] motion picture production,[40] and television production,[41] and is home to the headquarters of Canada's major national broadcast networks and media outlets.[42] Its varied cultural institutions,[43] which include numerous museums and galleries, festivals and public events, entertainment districts, national historic sites, and sports activities,[44] are key attractions to the over 25 million tourists that visit the city each year.[45][46] Toronto is well known for its skyscrapers and high-rise buildings,[47] in particular the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere, the CN Tower.[48] As Canada's commercial capital, the city is home to the Toronto Stock Exchange, the headquarters of Canada's five largest banks,[49] and the headquarters of many large Canadian and multinational corporations.[50] Its economy is highly diversified with strengths in technology, design, financial services, life sciences, education, arts, fashion, business services, environmental innovation, food services, and tourism.

Toronto looks amazing. I dream of Canada every day of my life. I will definetly come this year by God's grace. Amen
Stay where ever you are
@@Dainith Why should he?
@HK You are right. He should go after we are done with Covid.
@@raafigul4697 cause we need people who can fight for there country, not run away from one, from what I'm seeing, the more new immagrants we get here,.the more racism, and the more of my native women go disappearing or found murdered, so yeah,.until this shit stops, our borders should remain shut
@@Dainith That sounds like hypocrisy. Either all immigrants leave right from the first settlers or all of the new ones should keep coming. It's racism that needs to be controlled not immigration.
I grew up in Toronto in the 60s, I rember this section very well. it's very interesting to see the modern version of the city with so few people at 6 am or so. So many changes; still a great city, but I'm happy to live in a small town now.
Must have been a Sunday or something. Drive there during the weekdays and you won't be moving.
Even on a Sunday Yonge and Dundas is packed with people, this must have been shot very early in the morning.
Correct - This was around 7am on the weekend - You know the city well!
It is early in the morning; outside lights are still on and the car lights are very bright.

I have not been home in almost 2 years wow so early and miss home thanks great video.. I miss China Town to great eats and Kensington market
That was filmed at 5:34 am, (see the Tim Hortons sing at the end) no wonder it is so quite! I have never seen Toronto's streets so empty but I never get up and out, that early
Nice catch - Very early morning! Good to hear from you again :)
Woah I'm subscribed to both of you! So weird! Yeah never seen Toronto this quiet in my life
EXCELLENT!
I drive into work starting in Scarborough at 4:30am. DVP though not packed had a fair bit of traffic along with going across Eglinton to get to the DVP, as does Richmond where I get off.
God I miss Toronto, lived there for ten years and not regret a single day of it
Only if during the week is was this nice and quiet.... oh, well ahahahha nice footage!
I haven't been to downtown Toronto for a long time.I missed all the CDs and record stores and book stores such as A&A Records, Sam The Record Man, Coles The World Largest Bookstore and later on Coles Chapters.
Its a lot of fun spending time browsing through stores like that :)
Your mention of Sam the Record Man suggests your age methinks! Hmmm?
How peaceful
I had a feeling that this was a weekend recording, taken in the early morning or holiday again, in the early morning. I went to Ryerson for 4 years and then I took night classes their after I graduated. So I know that specific area very well!
Nice video, good job and thanks for sharing.

Everything is so true about what you said about Canada! However in Toronto it gets very crowded 🤣 and there are lots of people since it’s the 3rd largest city in North America. However it is clean and well maintained for being the biggest city in Canada
The streets look nice and clean

Canada is thirdworld compared to USA China or Western Europe

I can reach this wonderful, Toronto, Canada... Soon. 🇨🇦🍁😊💪👍. Or Vancouver. 🤗.
You have no idea about the disappointments you will have, if the vast majority are anything to go by.
Good country
2016 first change to see Toronto for a week. We stayed at hotel, dine out, sight seeing and shopping. Very impressed cleanliness downtown and along subways. So much pride. Locals were very pleasant. People in Ottawa have cold attitudes because conservative government city. Lots of trash every where. Tell many American people to visit Toronto. They'll get their monies worth.
Used to have a Slice of Vegetarian at Pizza Pizza on Younge street after gym sessions.
Just came from Toronto to calgary amazing especially mississaga out class

How can we turn left when we're on a street car Track? And the signal has just opened?
