At the end of the day as you unwind and sit quietly, you have to be at peace in your heart with whatever you choose and decide for your life. Actually, you’ve always said to surround yourself with those who support what you do. And, I did wish you luck in your application process to JM because you had applied but I am still going to wish you luck as you are embarking on a different journey. Wherever you go, whatever you decide will be the RIGHT decision FOR YOU. I support you! Your music is still your music no matter where you are. It’s a part of who you are! You've inspired me on playing piano and explore the world of classical music since i began to watch your videos. Sorry to hear about this news. I know you have your own decision and I will definitely follow you as your fan. May you all the best!

I can totally relate. I attended a large Ivy league school for 2 years of my undergrad, and after careful rumination, I left for a variety of reasons to a smaller lesser known institution. People are always flabbergasted when I tell them this.I wish most people realize that most people go to these schools for the reputation. Honestly I've had some classes where we use the EXACT same textbooks as the Ivy league, essentially your paying for the reputation. Also, most professors who teach at the elitist institutions don't even have degrees from elite schools themselves. Congratulations!!! I am very honored and excited to see you grow as a pianist. I can’t wait to see what happens next, because we all know that you are one of the greatest pianists of our time. Also where I live there are not many people who appreciate classical music the way I do and it gets very lonely, but when I come to your videos I realize that there are so many people out there who feel the same way and all I have to do is wait for my future as a pianist where I will be able to meet so many other musicians like you. I really hope we get to meet someday. Thank you Tiffany!😊
This raises some very important points about the issue of the deification of certain institutions. I can't wait to see where you go next! Thank you for taking us with you 💕 and any hate because of this is misplaced.
It's actually really inspiring to watch you do what's right for you and not what others think you should be doing. That takes a lot of courage. Wherever you go I'm sure you'll do amazing and I'll be sticking around to watch it!
Many years ago I catched up a line from a german poet: to get ahead in life you have occasionally to saw off the branch you are sitting on. I'm very confident you made the right decision for you, keep flying and enchant us with your music.
Tiffany, why you leave has no importance for myself, I follow you without judgement, only with my ears because I admire you and above all respect the person you are.
I follow you because I admire your talent and adore your personality - it has nothing to do with your enrollment in Juilliard! Best of luck to you in your new adventure, can’t wait for your next video!
That's growth and evolving for you. Everything in life is absolutely temporary. The duration by which you engage with everything in life is but a moment in the grand scheme of things. Enjoy it to it's fullest while you can, with the knowledge that this too will pass. The heartbreak of loosing those things near and dear to your heart is where the real growth and teaching happens. The struggle of life is why we are here. To engage it and grow or be disheartened by it. In a thousand years, humanity will have evolved to be more civilized by your small positive input. And then a giant asteroid hits the earth, total mass extinction happens, and we have to start all over again.
Well, there are morons everywhere in this world. But, for the most part, you can be pretty confident that most of your subscribers give a damn about Juliard. We are not football fans, you know? I believe your talent and dedication will prevail. And you've gone a long way. Also, you seem rather sensible for your age. There is nothing to fear. Good luck in your new journey.
@@Alejandro-Te Did you mean to say "DON'T give a damn about Juliard", or was that deliberate? You seemed to have said the opposite of what you seemed to be saying lol, you basically said that most the subscribers DO give a damn about Juliard.
Change is such an important factor in artistic expression and I'm glad you got the courage to do so! I'm super excited to see all the vlogs and content coming up in whatever wonderful school you'll go to :) (By the way I don't know if you know this but the video is set on unlisted so it won't show up on your channel just incase you didn't want it to be!)
Good luck Tiffany Poon and we will be following you wherever you go next !! Hope its RCM in London, UK. Its obviously a private and personal decision as to why you decided not to continue your studies at Juilliard and one that you do not wish to disclose on social media. Life will continue and hopefully you will find other ways to achieve your goals in life. Please keep playing the piano, you have so many fans all over the world who adore your wonderful piano playing. Take care and God Bless you Tiffany Poon.
An eagle can pick at the carcass of a dead rabbit with its counterparts, or find its own food elsewhere if it has the guts to try. In this case though the carcass is more the size of an elephant but you can find your lions share elsewhere! Excited to see where you head and remember this channel isn't called 'Julliard' it's called Tiffany Poon!
+Harris Turner Pretty morbid, pretty macabre. But pointing towards our earthly physical destiny. The question is, what is our individual spiritual destiny to be? (Romans 6:23) 'For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.'
Tiffany you have to make the decisions that are right for your life, no need to apologise for doing so. Wherever your road leads next, may God bless you abundantly. :)
I like you for who you are. Try your best!! I believe in you Just do what you think is right. Actually you just inspire me to step out my comfort zone, I am moving towards now although I don't know what I am going to do yet. I will always be on your side!!!
There are many options for such a talented student. Who wouldn't like to teach Tiffany? Tiffany needs to find the right teacher, which is a very personal thing - the School itself is probably not that important. If I had to guess I would say that Tiffany goes to Dang Thai Son who joins the Oberlin Conservatory Piano Faculty for the coming academic year. But there are lots of other possibilities. Anyways, we wish Tiffany that she finds the right teacher and that she will feel comfortable at the new place.
My goodness, 12 years! Of course you are ready to move on. As a 61 year old, I can tell you you will make the best decision for you, at this time. And even if it is not the best, you will learn very much by dealing with the challenges and imperfections of the situation. I am so wishing you luck and joy and can't wait to hear of your next step.
Amazing! Girl just do whatever makes you happy and what you feel is right! I really hope the next step in your life makes you happier than u have ever been❤️
I'm glad you made this decision ....I'm happy for you, it takes courage to step out of your comfort zone and it looks like that's what you're doing and that's how we grow throughout life.... keep it up and I'm excited to see what's next
Tiffany, I admire you infinitely, I follow each one of your videos. I admire your control when playing and your transformation to begin to interpret some piece. Someday I hope to be like you, I hope to love what I do as much as you do. I hope you read the message 🙈💕
Tiffany Poon is a young lady who seems a very nice and talented young pianist who has been studying piano for a long time. She is still a teenager and that is a stressful time for any young person. She comes across as a talented and also sensitive young lady, so perhaps she needs time out, a break and a change of scene. Lastly as others have said, we are here to support you Tiffany Poon and to listen to your divine piano playing. The fact that you were studying at Juilliard is irrelevant and will not stop any of us following you on RUclips !!
I know it's not my place to say it, but for some reason I feel SO happy for you (and kind of proud too) I've been follow you since the Chopin Competition and no matter what reason is behind this I just hope this decision brings you happiness and the possibility of learn and grown more as a musician :)
Thanks for sharing your stories... I just found you 1 week ago, but love your honesty and the way you share your process! Yes, I respect your decision and look forward to hear where you go! :)
Don’t worry about this decision, we all are going to feel lost at some point of our lives, and if for you it was that moment, well, be sure that you did what your heart told you to do. I’m so happy to discover your channel some weeks ago, and I’m gonna keep supporting you. Love you from Mexico❤️
Congrats on your graduation!!!!! Didn't know you lived in NYC for this long, wow! I wanna guess that you're going to Europe for some different experience... but wherever you're going for your next step, I believe that's the best choice for you and wish you all the best there! To share with you, me myself lived in the states for 7 years and decided to come to London for my master's degree last year. I was super excited when I made the decision, and now, one year after, I'm so glad that I made that decision. And for you, I believe you made the best decision for yourself, too!! Best of luck!!!
Dear Tiffany, I really admire your honesty and bravery. I have been following your channel for I don't exactly remember how many years. As a music major student and a music lover, you have been such a wonderful inspiration in many ways. I wish you all the best for starting the next chapter in you life! Please keep being who you truly are, because that's why I like you! ❤️
Love you for yourself Tiffany. Go an do what is best for you. Treat yourself and others as ends in themselves, as Kant would. Good luck at Columbia, and wherever. But keep the music comin'.
You have a bright future ahead of you! Anywhere you feel you cannot do the best that you can do is not the right place for you. I hope that you do find the perfect place. You will do great wherever you go! Good luck and congratulations on graduation. Much love!
I completely agree with your words “stepping out of your comfort zone”. I didn’t know that you were in Juilliard for 12 years before watching this video and not saying that it is a bad thing for centain, it is awesome anyway, but it is way tooo long. I promise myself before starting to highschool to become open to any change in my life. And it absolutely worked. I have many friends than I’m used to, travelled abroad by my own many times, went to many concerts etc. I know you have actually done many things which I mentioned up here but at least even changing any little thing in your life will make you feel something new. Make you a new, better one every time.
Wondering why you see this as a matter of "gossip". One can have a perfectly reasonable reason for leaving a school. Why not discuss it? I don't see why you would think that would be "gossiping" or denigrating the institution. I wouldn't worry about hurting Juilliards feelings. I think they can handle it...Go on - let's here what you have to say - I'm sure it would be a valuable discussion. I just noticed this was posted 2 years ago, so I guess it's water under the bridge. I see that you are well into your concertizing career, so I guess you'll survive. I just hope you have continued your theoretical studies, which makes all the difference in the world for your general musicianship. I can almost always tell when a pianist has had in depth theoretical and/or compositional training. It shows up in their grasp of background and global structures in the works they perform.
Congratulations on your (upcoming) graduation! Your work ethic, pursuit of perfection in your music, and expressiveness in your playing have always been such an inspiration to me. Now I can add “courage to step outside comfort zone” to that list. You are an amazing person, and I’m sure you will continue to inspire and do amazing things wherever you go!
Tiffany, You got this, you can do whatever you want in the world. I think that you are an amazing Pianist, and you are a role model to me in a way. I am glad that you have made the decision to move on in life. As someone else had said (possible someone more so towards the top of the comment thread) all that matters is that you are happy at the end of the day. I am still going to follow (and watch) your channel, but I will be most interested in what you like, and enjoy to put out. I fully support your decision and look forward to seeing a less stressed you, while still bringing the light into my day (every Tuesday🤗). Have a fantastic week. 🤔👍🏻
This is definitely a big and difficult decision for you! No matter where you go next, wish you the best and always remember to listen to your own heart!
thanks for sharing. of course I don't know you and only just recently ran across your vlogs, but I wondered why you were auditioning for Julliard since it appeared you had already been going there a while and are clearly talented. good luck in all of your adventures!!!!!!. keep vlogging please. just imagine how lucky we, your viewers, are to get to watch you. I've never met Beethoven, Mozart, or Chopin, but watching you feels like I've gotten to see those great masters through a great master of the 21st century. you are great and I appreciate you letting us take a peek into the life of a virtuoso.
God gift was for us to create. And we can create a bad image of a person, place or thing with our words. Its good to step aside from gossip. God bless.
Hey Tiffany, nothing wrong with your decision at all. You're young and have world class talent - why not step out and see what the rest of the world has to offer? I tell my former students (I teach P1-P3 in Hong Kong btw) who come to visit me that if you're not sure what you really want, then go - get out into the world and experience different things. Who knows, the world is BIG, beautiful and full of experiences just waiting to be discovered, right?. Of course you must protect yourself cause there are plenty of nutty people in the world who will try to take advantage of you, but that should never stop you from stepping out of your comfort zone and learning from these experiences, both good and bad. In fact, that's how I found you! A year ago I was feeling kind of bored with my life (mid-life crises I guess) and eventually got the idea that I wanted to start playing the piano again...I had not touched the piano since I was 18 when I studied music in my home state of Louisiana, but eventually gave it up. But anyways, I was just randomly watching piano videos on here, letting RUclips select my next video when suddenly a little girl from Hong Kong was playing Lizst, if I recall correctly. Wow, she's good! I was very impressed so I became your subscriber. So in a way, you and a few others that I've found here on RUclips have inspired me to start playing again and I cannot even express how satisfying it is. My colleagues and even my wife think I'm a little crazy for 'wasting my time' relearning from scratch how to play the piano. But what joy and real pleasure it brings into my life. I'm in the music room at my school every spare moment I have. Thank you for such a good example to others and I commend you for your decision not to gossip about all of your reasons for leaving Julliard. You are exactly right that gossiping never helps anything. Good luck with whatever you choose to do and I hope you find joy in your endeavors! Oh, and congratulations on your graduation!
Tiffany Hi, good luck for the future no matter what you do or where you chose go. You come across as beautiful person, and I for one will be looking to here what you do next. xox
First, congratulations on graduating from Columbia and Julliard at the same time. I feel you about leaving my own comfort zone, as I’m also facing a dilemma. I’m choosing between two universities for my bachelor. This video really helps me to decide that where I should go and where I really want to go.
I think it's great that you're mixing it up and going to another school. You'll get a whole new perspective, with new teachers and friends. And thanks for not gossiping.... Like someone else commented, I'm following YOU, not Julliard, so go where your heart leads, and best of luck.
Not boring at all! You have that wonderful way of being wonderful in everything. Curtis music conservatory could be a great next step. Maybe you need a break. Remember, Liszt didn't play a note for one whole year over a broken heart. He found himself and he went on to become the greatest virtuoso of all time!
You are very honorable to not give in to gossip. It just breeds more gossip and vitreol and you are not that kind of person. You are a great person and a great piano player. Good luck!!
Ms. Poon in my mind has the best version of Rachmaninoff Sonata #2 up on YT and there is stiff competition from major artists up on YT, but her version makes beautiful music out of it more than any of the others ... that's something to hang your hat on and encourage more from you as long as you feel that... keep up the great work , you are amazing
Keep up the good work Tiffany !! I am and will always be one of your biggest fans and I know you will survive wherever you go 👍btw, good luck with your finalsssss !!
Tiffany, you are great and I wish you the best for ever. I can imagine how exciting and, at the same time, hard for you all of these changes! I need to let you know that you inspire me a lot, as an Artist and as a Person, and I´ll keep watching everything you post, no matter what or where. You deserve the best and I hope you be happy whatever choices you take, giving time to yourself and keep developing through the same conscious way you do. Congratulations for all achievements so far, not "only" the graduation, but every new piece you get, every recital, every artistic and personal challenge! I´m a pianist, from Brazil. I really admire the way you do everything and the way you share with us. See you and have a nice work with the pages to be written!
I'm glad you have the strength to make tough decisions, i'm sure you know what you're doing (somehow this doesn't come as a surprise...) and that you're gonna make the most of your rare talent. More then ever i'm a follower
I forgot to add: how about New England Conservatory of Music? That way, I might even be lucky enough to get to meet you. And Boston is a very historic and beautiful city.
I was attending my first year of higher education in Brooklyn when The Wall debuted in Manhattan. Your grandparents were probably in the row in front of me. 😅
It’s a great, courageous decision, dear Tiffany. You will be great wherever you go :) the studies of philosophy teach you well to be a great thinker that you are...aside from a fantastic pianist and a lovely human being. Cheers!
I think it’s really cool that you leave Juilliard! Hope you will find what you look for. Content idea : nyc vlogs with friends, food wine etc, philosophy talks, evening vlogs in nyc, buying plants or cooking video... hope you’ll enjoy these suggestions! Have a nice day
Hi Tiffany, maybe I'm not the right person to speak here, maybe I'm not one of those fans who support you the way a good fan should do or the way you should deserve it, but I want to tell you this anyway: you are TIFFANY, not Juilliard, Tiffany! And that's what I love about you. I love you because you are simply Tiffany, no matter what. Juilliard or not Juilliard, to me you will always be the best Chopin performer ever, and that's why I subscribed. I really love your interpretation. Then, I decided to stay because of you, because of your personality and, again, because of Tiffany. I know it's not easy when it comes to decisions like that, but, hey, this is life. Life is all about decisions. Right? And I think you are not to blame for yours. Okay… Juilliard is Juilliard, but, believe me, I would not change you even with thousands of Juilliards. You are one of a kind. Don’t forget it. So, wherever your future takes you, promise me to be just Tiffany. This would be the most wonderful thing you could do. For you. For us. For everyone else. Don't forget it. PS. Congrats on your upcoming graduation!! Make it a special day!!
Congrats on leaving! I’m honestly going through a similar situation of transferring colleges. It’s unbelievably terrifying to leave a system that’s nurtured you for years, but intense changes are sometimes necessary for significant reinvention. In the same way, “burn the bridges” at Julliard and devote yourself wholeheartedly to whatever you decide to do. I’m rooting for you! :)
Tiffany, Tiffany... it’s not Juilliard, it’s YOU we love and admire, wherever you are!

It takes a lot courage to step out comfort zone. Wish you the best no matter where your next step will be!

Exciting news! Curious to see what's the next step for you.
Who cares about Juliard. Most of us care about you, I suppose.
Citriano Torres I hope that supposition is true
Well, there are morons everywhere in this world. But, for the most part, you can be pretty confident that most of your subscribers give a damn about Juliard. We are not football fans, you know?
I believe your talent and dedication will prevail. And you've gone a long way. Also, you seem rather sensible for your age. There is nothing to fear. Good luck in your new journey.
@@Alejandro-Te
Did you mean to say "DON'T give a damn about Juliard", or was that deliberate?

Pretty morbid, pretty macabre.
I believe in you
Just do what you think is right.
Actually you just inspire me to step out my comfort zone, I am moving towards now although I don't know what I am going to do yet.
I will always be on your side!!!
Royal College of Music??? It would so great to see you in England. Best of luck with everything.
It would be wonderful if Tiffany Poon came to RCM but I think most likely she will stay in USA to further her musical education.
Yay... best wishes wherever the future takes you.
Thank you Tiffany for all your videos and i think your decsions is right!
Tiffany, you are wonderfully talented, so please go wherever you need to go to realize your amazing gifts.
Of course we will stick around ❤️ we support you wherever you go ...
Hi Tiffany, whereever you are or will be ...please keep making nice video of you playing beautiful music....good luck to you always.
Much love!
We love you all the same Tiffany! look forward to hearing about your next journey.
Hahah Tiffany.... RUclips just recommended this to me after 5 years...goes to show how supportive the algorithm is....
Congratulations! No matter what you do you'll always be an inspiration to me and many others. I aspire to be like you one day. Best wishes!
Follow your heart and give your best.
And yes, don't regret your decisions
All the best for your future!
Tiffany! I'm always cheering YOU wherever you are😊. Good luck Tiffany 🌼🎶
I will follow you Tiffany ! The eternal life is change while you still young . May God bless you !
Keep flying! When you have time, and if you want to do it, could you please do Chopin's Berceuse for us? Thank you so much.
I've just found a video where you play Chopin's Berceuse. Now I feel silly that I asked...sorry
Tiffany,
You got this, you can do whatever you want in the world.
Moving on and making changes gives a person the opportunity to grow. There's a big world out there. Good luck to you!
We love you Tiffany!
Your own route is what we will follow.
You are out of your cocoon and are now a Butterfly ready to fly!
Looking forward to continuing to follow your career wherever you go! Life is long, change is healthy. Best wishes to you! ❤️
Can't wait to see what you do! Good luck!☘☘
I wish you all the best Tiffany for the future! I’m excited to see what’s next!!!
God gift was for us to create. And we can create a bad image of a person, place or thing with our words. Its good to step aside from gossip. God bless.
Been watching your videos since 8 years ago, all the best, im sure you will do well wherever you go!
Yay you're bringing us along XD Looking forward to more of your adventures and vlogs. All the BEST!
Not boring at all! You have that wonderful way of being wonderful in everything. Curtis music conservatory could be a great next step. Maybe you need a break. Remember, Liszt didn't play a note for one whole year over a broken heart. He found himself and he went on to become the greatest virtuoso of all time!
I enjoy all the Chopin performances you do on video... good luck on your decision making !!
Have a great journey, and have fun; that's all
;-)
All the best to you, Tiffany! Wherever you go. Hope you achieve your dream :)
Congratulations! You have grown so much! Good luck and keep going with your videos.
Good Luck TIffany! I wish you the best!
Good luck wherever you go!
Good Luck, Tiffany!! We love your videos. Best wishes sent to you from Vancouver, BC!!
Good luck to you wherever you go after Julliard. You are destined for success whatever you do. You are a real talent. Spencer
Wow! Such a decision takes real courage! I wish you all the best in he future!
All the very best, Tiffany!!
I'm glad you have the strength to make tough decisions, i'm sure you know what you're doing (somehow this doesn't come as a surprise...) and that you're gonna make the most of your rare talent. More then ever i'm a follower
You are very brave Tiffany!!! One of my inspirations ✨💖
Tiffany - massive respect for getting in to one of the most prestigious schools in the world for MASTERS. Amen.
Have a nice day
Vincent Kinsbergen Buying plants? 😅
Haha maybe buying plants is more an Instagram thing... but yeah like Ikea Haul for your place!
You definitely made the right choice of not bad mouthing someone else. Keep on with your positiveness!
What a truly beautiful young lady!
12 years, wow! You will be great wherever you go!
Girl, you know exactly what you’re doing, just keep moving and be the best of yourself!
Hi Tiffany,
maybe I'm not the right person to speak here, maybe I'm not one of those fans who support you the way a good fan should do or the way you should deserve it, but I want to tell you this anyway:
you are TIFFANY, not Juilliard, Tiffany!
