We have been members for 4-5 years now and ALWAYS get our money's worth. We use it much the same way you do - for one nighters on the way to another destination. Because of that, I don't really worry about the campground as long as it is safe and reasonably quiet. We're in a fifth wheel so we don't worry about the campground bathrooms and we usually cook our meals in the evening. As for membership costs, we usually extend our membership in the fall and black Friday. They often give great discounts at that time. If I remember correctly, we paid $109 for 3 years plus 2 years free.

This was a good review about Passport America but we have not gotten it yet since we mainly move on the weekends. We like having more tools in our toolbox though! ~ Shion and Matthew

Hey Danny and Lynn great video! We signed up about 2 months ago we get excited seeing the discount savings but as we are booking they do have a lot of rules and several places aren't good for anywhere from 3 to 5 months so kinda a bummer but we honestly see that if we stay just two or 3 times in a year we saved and it is worth it. We look forward to experimenting with Passport America this year. You did a great job sharing all the information and the pros and cons were perfect and you had an honest review pointing out a place you may not stay again but we have realized that with other memberships they all have good places and not so good places. Thank you so much Original RV America for another great money saving idea! Your amazing!
We totally agree with you. Every membership has places that are one and done. With passport America if you stay 2 or 3 times you have definitely made your money back. We honestly get our money back with them. I think the key is to read the campground reviews. Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you so much for joining us. Save travels, friends.
Some important things to be aware of. Call the location to verify the PA amount is the same as on the PA App. Our first location we called was $5.00 more than PA showed….still a good price. Read the important information to see what the PA details about how long you can stay are and if you can pay with a credit card. In other words read the fine print. I can see some advantages for sure but it is 50/50 on being worth it.
Reading the fine print is a must. Check and double check. I think they are always up for change. And the majority of them do notake the discount on holidays and weekends. Thanks for joining us. 😊 safe travels.
Some parks have inflated their prices and done nothing to improve their grounds. So half price is a lot higher in places but still worth checking.

It was useless in the south west this winter, every park had it turned off until either April or May. I suspect I'll encounter the same when I go RVing up north this summer

Have used mine across US and various places in Canada. Generally good experiences. Very first time used it was a little campground in GA and after we paid and went to the site sewage was flowing out of hookup so we went back and got a refund and hit the road. Some of campgrounds are older and sites are smaller and tricky to get into but for me the savings are worth it!
You do put up with a bit if the price is right. The sewer would be a deal breaker for us to. Glad you were willing to try others. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels.

Angie & I have a lifetime membership. It's been a great tool to have in our camping toolbox. Your thumb down was AOK in Amarillo, yeah it was a bit run down, but for $17.00 for full hookups, large pull thru sites, and no blackout days, we have dropped in there twice during our travels and will use it again I'm sure. @@RVAmerica unfortunately I believe they discontinued offering the lifetime pass last year. I know I was getting emails last year stating they were going to do so. But that may have been a marketing ploy. Safe travels!
That stinks.
We used to use Passport America A LOT but it seems that less and less parks started taking them and the restrictions became more and more and we started using them less and less . But it's true that they are very affordable and by just using them 2 or the three times it pays for itself. For us because of what I mentioned the last couple years we were members we simply never used them so we stop subscribing. But it certainly CAN save people money, if they use it.
That's the way it is with all memberships. They only save you money if you actually use them. And not every membership works for everyone. With passport America, you definitely have to read the fine print. Safe travels. 😊
