why Did Torbin kill himself for this? he legit did nothing bad, he got mind graped, then just blocked shots, THEN gets nearly beaten to death by his own ally who is getting mind graped
Think about what Torbin is, and how the writers feel about people like him. Torbin is guilty because of the writers' prejudice and did what the writers wish all people like him would do.
I understand why the Jedi didn't give the full truth. It just wouldn't have made any sense. Jedi Council: "So, how did the witches die?" Andara: "Um, I broke their Force hold over Kelnacca and they all fell over and died. All fifty of them." Jedi Council: "You made that up." Andara: "I wish I did." Jedi Council: *sighs* "And you Sol, why did you stab their leader?" Sol: "She turned into a shadow monster right in front of me and started to turn her daughter into one too." Jedi Council: "That doesn't even m-" Torbin: "Did I mention I wanted to kidnap the girls just so I could come home?" Jedi Council: "Are you all out of your goddamn minds?"
This episode was supposed to show the evil secret of this group of jedi to show us why they were later assasinated but every move they made was a direct reaction to the cult sisters aggressive actions. Even in response to the cults aggressivness their reaction was only defensive and only actually attacked when they turned into smoke monsters.
It’s a show that was made out of resentment to George’s lore and the Jedi and they want to work in a new faction of force users Of course they just made the Jedi look somewhat better by comparison, while still technically acting out of character though
Yeah. The only reasons the witches ended up dead is because they kept acting aggressively towards the Jedis and because Mae set the paper mache (?) rock fortress on fire, causing the badly wired (?) power plant to blow up.
The story is being told from the perspective of woke writers pushing a space cop versus space minority narrative. Jedi =AJAB, Witches=didn't do nuthin.
"We are not evil, you are ! Now, excuse me Jedis while i violate your minds, threaten and attack you as a dark cloud thing. But again, you are the evil ones not us. I was totally let her go with you after that." We live in a world where people are getting paid for writting things like this. 🤔
The Jedi don't come of as evil but flaw. Sol and Torbin "lack experience" where rash and in the case of Torbin (the Padawan) a bit selfish, But at no moment they mean harm
@@juanfranciscovillarroelthu6876 But that's why the writers want you to see them as the bad guys. They supposedly got a bunch of people killed because of their flaws but didn't get in trouble for it. One Jedi even offs himself because he apparently thinks he deserves it and can't redeem himself any other way.
@@SunwardRanger83 Yeah, I kind of get why Torbin is the most "disturbed" by the expirience considering everthing that happen to him (being poses, almost cut in half, losing an Eye and getting half his face scar) but he did not kill anyone, if anything Sol should be the one with the extra guilt for killing Mama witch by overeacting (from his perspective) but the witches (Specially Horny Witch) also scalated the situation for no reason or acted really dumb just so the plot could happen. If I had to put the blame on someone for the things that happen would be on Horny Witch.
The thing is, as inept as the Jedi were in this episode, they still weren't the bad guys compared to the witches. The Jedi didn't possess people and the one twit got herself killed by not communicating what she was going to do. Seriously, all she had to do was say, "I'll handle this!" and Sol would have known that whatever she did next was in response to Mae calling for help. However, the greatest villain of the episode was the mining company that built that facility in the first place because it _CLEARLY_ wasn't up to code, which is ironic since there's a character named OSHA in the show. (For those of you who don't know, in the USA, OSHA stands for Occupation Safety and Health Administration, which the Star Wars galaxy apparently lacks, as evidenced by all the chasms with no railings around them.)
Flammable stone floor is an obscure choice in building materials. They were standing on a death trap. If the Jedi had not turned up, Mae would still have set the fire. Mae also trapped them in a burning building with no working emergency exit. The Jedi ended up helping to save the situation from their own grand incompetence of having a flammable building, trapped by a murderous 8 year old. Now, the Jedi did try, the could have argued that they offered to rescue them or help. But that's not what the person, dumber than ChatGPT wrote. Also, Torbin died because boredom was a path to the Dark Side. Tedium, leads to apathy. Apathy, leads to frustration, Frustration, leads to a Regal African Lesbian grandmother Space Witch Cult Leader entering your mind to seduce you into becoming evil. Happens all the time. Certainly worth killing yourself because you thought kidnapping a child, also helped you save someone by being in the right place at the right time. Fate is interesting like that.

The Jedi didn’t really do anything wrong. You think it would’ve been revealed that one or two of them used force to try and get the sisters and ended up killing a lot of witches, and that they used Jedi mind trick to make Oscha think her sister tried to kill her….. but no…… It’s even dumber than that… Mae did threaten to kill her sister, Mae still caused the fire by lighting the picture on fire for no fucking reason whatsoever, the wife of the witch leader wanted to kill the Jedi before anybody got killed, The witch leader looking like a freaky looking wraith and making it look like she was disintegrating Mae, and somehow, breaking the mind control over the Wookiee Jedi somehow kills the rest of the witches!…. the Jedi just end up looking more better than the “righteous” witches and Mae’s ambiguous “everyone must be sacrificed” did not make things any better…. I’m on the Jedi’s side on this one…

Ironically, if the Jedi hadn't broken in to get the girls, all of the witches would likely still be dead along with the sisters. Remember, Mae destroyed the Elevator control panel, then proceeded to set the (stone) room on fire, which quickly spread and blew up the power generator...
@@Diiv_Tiid Except the fire and the breaking of the lift only happened before the jedi broke in the second time. Mae did both in response to Osha leaving. Also out of 50 witches, did no one else see the fire and try to put it out before it blew up the giant reactor?
@@kunakic1499 Then their destiny was to die in the explosion, killing them all while they debated the fate of the girls out of fear while the Jedi did nothing. End of story. It's literally the Trolley problem. Turn the switch to save 5 people only to have 1 die, or do nothing and the 5 who were going to die still die because you choose not to take responsibility for the death of the 1. Or is it the other way around, with the switch saving the 1 and killing the 5... oops they're dead, I took too long to decide. I don't think they're that clever, but now that I think about... Manny was in The Good Place, and they featured it in that. I'm sure I'm just grasping at straws, though.
It should also be noted that it was literally her Mum (Koril - the angry witch mother) who agitated her into doing those things (though I don't think she intended on her straight up trying to kill Osha). I think they were intending to show and imply that Osha almost died because the Jedi delayed the covenent getting to her when Mae pleaded for help and that the Covenant dying was only because of Jedi intervention - but this makes no sense: By the time Mae arrived at the stand off to get help for Osha the fire had already spread far. Not only that but instead of immediately prioritizing rescuing Osha Koril immediately gets into a battle stance while Aniseyya starts becoming a creepy force ghost while about to take Mae with her without explaining her intent - mind you Sol and Torbin were repeatedly trying to avoid a fight despite trespassing and weren't the actively hostile ones. I guess it was more important to get some Jedi kills first? We're also finally demonstrated "The Power of Many" in an offensive capability (which contradicts their teachings on "The Thread" btw) by mind controlling Kelnecca. But it turns out this kinda sucks as Indara was able to not only singlehandedly overpowered the entire Covenent and got Kelnecca out of the mind control with little to no effort but also somehow killed the entire covenant in the process.
I like how they accidentally made korril the sole reason everyone dies. She the villain, her stupidity and aggression make the Jedi defensive and she had Mae lock up osha, made Mae get mad and started to dissolve in front of people. Like without koril being stupid no dies
I like to think that they were all knocked out after the jedi master counter their ability, then they died because all the witches where too stupid to put out the fire before it cause the reactors to blew up. Instead, they thought fighting the jedi was more important than a fire spreading or a reactor blowing up.
I guess they were using napalm to light their wall lamps or something? Even then that doesn't explain how that caused an entire chain reaction which led to the entire fortress literally blowing up.

@Alteori Trinity definitely seems to be a master, squid game guy and Wookie could be masters or knights. The other guy definitely a padawan. But all of them should be proficient in the use of the Force.
@@Alteori Yup, some of the most disciplined and powerful force users in the galaxy. Trained from childhood to control both the force and their own emotions so as not to fall to the dark side. You can really see the amount of care and attention the writers of the show put into these characters.
I dunno what everyone is complaining about, I think it's very relatable how this episode portrayed emotional responses. Who doesn't remember the last time they stubbed their toe and reflexively turned into a smoke monster? Or that time the mechanic told you your car needs new tires and you drew an arrow at him? Or the time you mind-controlled the cashier at the grocery store because your bill was too high? I got a jury duty summons last week and I know I sure tried to dissolve a small child.

Wait, where did the writer get the idea that the Nightsisters don't train children? Do they think the people of Dathomir just spring up out of the ground as fully formed adults? I mean, I don't know, they might, do they? Probably not.
They would have no continuity as an order or a civilization thereby dying within a generation if they did not train children. Do these writers ever actually think about what they write?
Trinity to Squidgame: "That's why you don't have a Padawon." ALSO Trinity's Padawon: "I'm going to brashly take off on this speeder and f' things up for everyone!"
Interesting that Sol was able to instantly notice how only Mae has a marking on her forehead and make a case about it. Would be a shame if such insight completely voided the whole twin swapping shtick.
There is zero coherence coming from the writers of this show. Like complete absence of continuity, a cohesive narrative, they forget stuff from one scene to the other, the characters forget what they did and said from one scene to another, there's zero consistency about the Force, about the Jedi, about the witches, about everything. It's like they have a huge whiteboard with factoids and ideas written by someone who once heard about Star Wars at a party, and they throw darts at the board and use whatever they hit once, then delete it off the board and then throw darts again. It's beyond stupid.
The sad thing is that there's the potential for a decent story at the core of this show, even a mediocre writer could probably get a decent Star Wars show out of the concept with a little time and effort. Perhaps the Critical Drinker could do an episode of "The Drinker Fixes..." to show us what could have been.
This entire show is no joke written by a person who watched or heard about the Sisters of Dathomir and NOTHING else and just decided "fuck it time to make a star wars show" without actually knowing ir liking Star Wars
Anyone else found it weird how Jedi Master Trinity seemed to care very little about her Padawan? I just ended up feeling sorry for him, no one seemed to care for him, probably because the writers didn't care for him.
She can't spell everything out for him, you know? Dealing with extreme psychological trauma without any help whatsoever is an important lesson for him to learn. That's why she had a padawan and Sol didn't 😉
I think the story seems to make the "argument" that the _"Jedi are these cold emotionless oppressors who deny your freedom to feel emotions, to be someone, to be happy or to love."_ Which isn't true by the way, Jedi do feel emotions all the time but they are disciplined and do not let emotions control them. The story plays on the Jedi philosophy that one needs to be able to let go of their worldly attachments and control strong emotions for the sake of the common good. Because attachments lead to fear of loss which can lead down the path to worry, fear, sadness, anger, hate and so on which are the paths towards the Dark side. For example that is why Jedi are not allowed to have romantic relationships. As Yoda famously said the Dark side is quicker, easier and its power is seductive. Strong emotions make it easier for one to be manipulated and seduced to the dark side. You could say _"The Jedi are promoting the known best practices to handle the force sensitives of the galaxy by providing force sensitives with guidance, education and a place where they are understood and thus maintain peace in society."_ But the Jedi are *NOT OPPRESSORS,* even this show makes it clear that one has the choice deny their children from being taken into the Jedi Order and even members of the Order can leave if they wish nobody is stopping them. (until they start doing bad things) Since the Force exists in the universe and force sensitive people will always be born, those force sensitive people could easily be using their force powers to do bad things. To use the force selfishly against those that cannot defend themselves. The Jedi's responsibility is to educate force sensitives starting very young to prevent them from growing up to be selfish. Jedi are also taking the responsibility to police force users that start doing bad things.
THANK YOU! Goodness it hurts watching people not understand why the Jedi are so strict on their emotional control. YOU have a bad day in traffic, you scream out your window. An un-trained Force sensitive having a bad day in traffic results in a dozen cars tossed off the road... Control... kinda important.
@@TchHry It isn't THAT BAD you are little over the top. This isn't Warhammer 40k's Psykers okay? Remember even Luke had difficulties lifting his X-wing out of the water and he was already mid training let alone someone untrained push a dozen cars that won't happen. The problem is not that an untrained force-sensitive accidentally does a bad thing. For abilities do grow weaker if one doesn't use them. The problem is that they can learn to use the force to do bad things DELIBERATELY not accidentally. Which is way worse than accidentally, because they can be trained by a dark side user master and all gets way worse.

Yes...possessing a Jedi to attack their friends, mind-manipulating a padawan by preying on their insecurities, emotionally manipulating an 8 year old to attempt to "end" her own sister's life, and suddenly turning into a black smoke creature at the most inappropriate time will certainly prove to the viewers that the Lesbian Space Witches were (somehow) "good", and that the Jedi were (somehow) "evil", right? (Seriously, what the f*ck was Leslye Headland and the rest of the writers smoking when they wrote this episode?) Leslye Headland wants viewers to see the Sith as the "underdogs" and the Jedi as the "oppressors", but WHY? Is it because the Jedi are logical, reasonable, diplomatic, disciplined, and emotionally mature, while the Sith base almost everything on irrational, unreasonable, illogical, easily manipulated feelings and emotions as they lie, steal, cheat, and murder as they please? Could it be because Socialist, Leftist, Pro-Hamas, Pro-LGBTQ+ cultists like Leslye Headland base everything on irrational, unreasonable, illogical, easily manipulated feelings and emotions much like the fictional Sith? It's certainly a "mystery"...🤔🤔🤔
The writers of the show don't get that the Sith are evil because they see themselves reflected in the Sith. Therefore, they try to make the Sith the good guys in the story, but they're so comically inept that they can't even come close to pulling it off.
@L337M4573RK I mean... They did say that Headlamp saw herself as a sith, so... Yeah. Yeah, I am pretty sure they see themselves as the sith, and thus, sith CAN'T be evil, right? Just shows that the she, and many like her, are legitimately evil.

Thats what I was trying to say but I found my self writing a college thesis The prequels have problems but it’s frustrating how the world descended on George and his lore. Either way a massive overhaul of said lore is NOT going to fix anything and with that these people may as well just make a completely new franchise
If you must know I was kind of venting over the backlash that accumulated over the years, since videos like Mr Plinketts To be a Jed is basically allegorical of/for/to altruism(I’m confused on the grammar surrounding that word, admittedly). The reason they NEED to start young is to illustrate the overall sacrifice as well as convey the potency of the force and the consequences of not being properly conditioned Furthermore I believe George makes it clear enough the students aren’t confined and can leave if they can’t hack it. The point is the controversy and the reaction to George, the Jedi and the prequels was unwarranted As for Leslie I don’t want to say I’m disappointed but I’m surprised this show kind of backs out on its original intent: to make the Jedi the bad guys. It’s like they have a flashback that makes them out to be the kidnappers they were associated with being but of course this episode confirms otherwise Disney knows they shit the bed with the sequels and they know they need the fans they lost to tune in to shows like Andor and Mandalorian (not that I’m a fan of the later) but if they add visible foreshadowing to the sequels and confirm the show as officially tied in they tune out. Its true because any kind of foreshadowing to the empire rising again will change the story behind the Disney plus shows for the worst: Andor will have officially sacrificed all for a red herring, for the Death Star destroyer fleet that is They of course are stalling: that’s why we don’t see any official sequel plot points and foreshadowing and that’s probably why this show didn’t trash the Jedi like they implied I’d wish they’d just quit stalling and pick an official direction: shit or get off the can, Disney
Let me see so they made Jedi into child protective Services Evil cops yet the lesbian space witches somehow are even more incompetent. Killing themselves with poor maintenance and impossible Links to many that 1 shot kills them all or makes them unconscious so they die in the fire in a rock Temple. Oh my God, this thesis thing writes itself.
The issue with the mother telling the daughter to get mad, and tap into that power, is that is basically the Darkside of the force. And the Darkside of the force can be corruptive, magnifying those negative emotions, making you act reckless. Just look at what Aniken did when he started tapping into it, and he already had a lot of training behind him, let alone a child, and doing the same. Sith Masters usually have a lot of training in order to handle things like this. But even they are usually often ruled by their emotions their amplified by the Darkside of the force. At least this is my Laymans understanding of it.
The two kids were just standing on the bridge holding they're hands out not even standing worry just standing with they're hands out screaming each others names not even traying to do anything to get closer like jump to the other so stupid
"It's his choice and I didn't want to get in the way of what she wants" famous words of mother who didn't stop her child from going into the candy van.
Exactly. I hate it when parents decide to treat their kids like children in one moment and then act like they're adults who don't have to worry what they think and then act like flip-flopping between the two isn't going to lead them to have very bad problem-solving skills.
Inspector: The building material your base is made of is a fire hazard. It's full of kerosene. Witch Mother: *confused* How is that possible? It's all metal and stone? Inspector: *Shrugs* I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to report this. This building should be condemned. Witch mother: *Takes over his mind.* That's too much paperwork for you. You only want to go home.
Funniest bit is that Headland gave an interview saying that the mother *wasn't* transforming into some horrible, black-eyed smoke demon (like it VERY MUCH APPEARED) while also forcing Mae to do so against her will...Headland claims the mother was becoming one with the Force and helping Mae to do so as well. This is what happens when a billion dollar company lets people who know nothing about the franchise and couldn't care less about it run projects in it.
Lol holy shit ...all the things that we all thought HAD to have another side to them...didnt. This answered no questions and raised maaannny new ones. So Fannie Mae did try to kill her sister. The burning notebook somehow burned down the stone and metal mountain fortress after all. The Jedi didnt provoke them, the witches armed themselves to fight. The horny mom was about to strike and Anisaya mom went full Eldritch horror black fogma monster which RIGHTFULLY freaked the shit out of Sol. He acted in self defense. Then Trinity clears the mind control from kelnacca and...All the other witches died from idefk... embarrassment? Which leads to my next question, what the actual fuck was Torbin so guilt ridden about? He did ABSOLUTELY nothing at all to anyone. So his sad decade meditation and killing himself was just apparently unrelated? It was that pesky "white male guilt" that got him in the end. This show... omg. It actually is the worst thing ever, it is. Nothing makes sense, characters seem to actually have copies of the script , because that is the only way they could be where they are, know what they know, and do the random ass shit they do. Its so BAD 😂
I actually think this makes Torbins death way worse. His crime was being mind r*ped by witches and having being almost killed by a mind controled friend. His death now looks like someone enabling a traumatised survivor to commit unalivement! How can people not see it as an absolute terrible thing!
@@LucasR.O I actually tried to see it that way whenever they first showed that happening in episode 3. I wondered if that like perm messed his mind up but...now after episode 7 it just doesn't feel like enough happened to him to warrant that. The delnacca kelnacca, I've already forgotten the wookies name...great. The wookie was mind rapped by the whole damn coven and tried to turn on and kill his friends. If anything the wookie shouldve lost his mind. That wouldvd actually been interesting though....so no we can't have that.
@@jasonjones7461 the wookie did have side effects. But just manifested as him painting that circle thing around his home. None of the two seem that effected in reality. But I can't unsee Torbins death as fault of a traumatic invasion to his mind when he was young. But again, that's me trying to make this schlock make sense
What she did is the equivalent of a suspect who just resisted arrest randomly trying to pull out a phone while the police are on edge after trying to wrestle him into submission. She basically said, "I dindu nuffin".
Ha. I paused the video to make this comparison. Then you made a similar comparison as soon as I hit play. Now It looks like I just copied what you said.
LONG POST IS LONG----> Trinity jedi lady was actually being a realistic Jedi- far more emotionless as Jedi's are supposed to be in control of their emotions. But in canon, there has been times where a Jedi has gotten upset or felt righteous indignation- Obi Wan felt it towards Anakin when Anakin was letting his emotions get the better of him and Master Windu felt it with his desire to kill Dukku. But they are usually very controlled and calm- as they are logical thinkers and do not act on impulse. Everything about what they did in this episode was impulsive and completely not at all what Jedi would do. Esp breaking into the mountain fortress- like eh? No. And actually- there's really no reason for them to have stayed on that planet for 7 weeks, they have scanners on their freaking ships to tell them if there are life forms! Luke was flying a small X-wing fighter and scanned Dagoba and found a huge amount of life on that planet. Granted, I understand this is supposed to be long before Anakin, Luke and all thems- BUT- they still have basically the same tech, so it makes no sense. I also am pretty sure the droids were the ones that took pictures- they had live video projected back to bases and ships through droids. I mean R2D2 took a freaking video and projected it back out in 3D! Have they even used droids in this series yet? That seems stupidily against reality of this universe too. Also, as a side note, Tobin chose to become a Jedi, it is not something forced upon anyone- it's a choice. They always give a choice, but they train when they are children because the Force is stronger when they are young (I believe?)- and becoming a Jedi is to abandon your previous life, so he would not have had any real 'home' to go to anymore- his home was with the Jedi. 'Seducing' him to the dark side by tempting him to go home is like tempting him with water cuz he's a little thirsty. Luke is different because Obi Wan and Yoda were the last Jedi- but both were in hiding- and Obi Wan knew Luke was strong w/ the force, even tho he wasn't a small child. Luke trained with Yoda, he was not turned away because of his age- Yoda saw the path and knew Luke was meant to bring back balance as the Republic had destroyed the balance of good and evil. I am not a die-hard star wars fan, but I do enjoy a good and well written story. This isn't it. So- ok. PLOT FIXES for this episode at least. The stone fortress on fire- make the inside made of wood and have fabric draped everywhere- things that are flammable. Like how a mine shaft is supported with beams of wood. Apparently it was supposed to be some old ruin of some kind... then perhaps the braces collapse, so that's how things start to explode somehow? Then it's believable that it could go up in flames. When the witch mama talks to the Jedi when they return at the end, she tells them she has decided to let Osha go- but then her wife flips out and screams that she didn't agree and attacks. A fight ensues and when she's about to be struck down by Sol, the other lady wife... smoke demons (wth is this? this is not a freaking thing!!) over to stop him and Sol stabs her as a result of her trying to defend her wife- who then flits away to safety never to be seen or heard from again- abandoning her coven (sure). It would also make more sense that instead of the whole coven needing to use their dark magic to control one alien (why did it take all of them?) there's only a few and the others are standing in the way to protect them and that maybe in a panic, because he's still undisciplined, Tobin deflects the arrows back to the witches (you can force push and pull things), killing them first and then runs at the others in their trance and starts cutting them down- and he's stopped by Sol and Trinity- which is why he ends up taking his own life later. And with the end with the girls on the broken bridge. Sol runs in, force pulls them to him, he's standing on the edge, they fly to him, but in their own panicked flayling, crash intro him and he tries to catch them both, but Mae slips from his fingers and he can't force pull her back up in time as he pulls Osha to safety. Or you have Mae fall from the bridge breaking before Sol even gets there, and he is only able to force pull Osha to safety cuz he didn't get there in time. On second thought... we should just let this whole thing burn to the ground and pretend it never happened. Anyone got that Men In Black mind eraser flashy device? TLDR; Info about Star Wars provided and some more logical story re-writes given. If you don't want to read it, that's fine. I'm just too lazy to make a video essay haha.
Hey Alteori wanna know something that makes what the mother did even worse ? Apparently in an interview the show runner said that what she was trying to do was to make her and May one with the force with that black cloud techniqu What does becoming one with the force mean ? Well Jecki the padawan with two green ligtsabers made a similar comment towards a dead bug saying that it will join the force soon or something like that. Meaning that the mother was going to bassicely commit a double suicide and take her child with her bassicely making Sol even more justified to stab her. Now I am not sure if this is what she meant but if she did wow these writers are dumb
And by the way, there is a giant mountain structure wich has energy (look at all the consoles and lights) in walking distance from the Jedi, but they find it by accident. Perhaps they use scannes next time instead of metal detectors....
40:17 There are many accents for humans from many cultures throughout the galaxy. The most widely used language throughout the galaxy is Galactic Basic or Galactic Basic Standard. With exceptions to species that have unique vocal chords or those who speak huttese (another very widely used language), GBS is the most common language, especially for humans. Although, there are over 5 million languages in the Star Wars universe, as stated by C-3PO when he told Luke’s Uncle that he was capable of translating a certain language for farming. There are actual examples of dialects of GBS in Star Wars, like the Gungans (from Naboo) and even the members of the imperial court have a distinct dialect.
For a mystery show, the greatest mystery still remains: why didn't Indara grab the surviving team, gun the engines, and nuke the place from orbit. Just to be sure. And the planet has been lifeless for years... but there's an old abandoned mine. /unnnhh. Make it make sense.
The show has plenty of problems, but those two criticisms are nonsensical. If you genuinely think nuking the place would be a Jedi thing to do, you don't understand them one bit. And there's nothing inconsistent about a planet that was rendered lifeless 100 years ago having had an old mine for the witches to occupy. In fact, the mine could conceivably have been active even after the disaster with food imported from elsewhere if whatever they were mining was rare/lucrative enough to justify the expensive operation.
@@twincast2005 Yeah in fairness.. the "abandoned mine" plot point fits with the idea a disaster rendered the planet lifeless at some point. Said disaster can be WHY it was abandoned. doesn't explain how such a small fire torched the place though.
So the “fake truth” that they plan to tell the council is actually THE TRUTH! Mae really did start a fire and it would have blown up the entire mountain regardless of the Jedi showed up the 2nd time or not. I don’t see where the lie is 😂🤦♂️
I'm sorry but can Disney pick a lane with lightsabers. Seriously this is the same universe where Sabine gets stabbed in the abdomen and survives and Reba gets stabbed twice and survives. Yet this dark side magic Force lady who quite literally turns into smoke and dies?
This episode has done nothing to change the basic series summary: A heroic squad of Jedi try to rescue a pair of kids from an evil cult, but only manage to save one. That's still the situation, even with the alternate viewpoint and additional info. (And, of course, we now know that the kid they DID save grows up to be stupid and turns to evil anyway.) The witch cult is still clearly evil and deserved what happened to them. The Jedi have nothing to feel guilt over.
They put enough stuff in the episode to make dumb people fall for the Jedi are evil direction they clearly want it to go. Because they where chicken to actually make situations show them directly bad. Why, because it would fully destroy the franchise. It be like Goku killing his family. Had no brainwashing involved. And than destroyed the Dragonballs.
'Diversity and inclusion' at least we can create new universes and story's they can only buy them and now CDprojektred hired Mary as lead write for cyberpunk 2 who said sweet baby Inc are not abusers and have done amazing work I mean everything they touch flops, MK1 no sexy characters, gears 5, spiderman 2 and suicide squad just stop paying glad I'm still gatekeeping anime and manga
I can write a better lord of the rings TV show about the Blue Wizards with the Christian theme of being my brother's keeper but knowing Amazon they must be a gay couple
So Mae legitimately tried to burn her sister alive and I will not accept that pathetic bs they tried to pull when Mae acted surprised for a second, that the book got set on fire AFTER SHE SET IT ON FIRE.
Honestly, this whole "the Jedi are evil--Actually, no they're not" and "the witch coven is good--Actually, no they're not" stuff could have been better executed if the whole point was to make the Witch coven evil all along, by making them indoctrinate the children into thinking the Jedi are evil when we, the audience, know they are not and Osha has grown up believing that the Jedi are not as bad as the people around her think they are. We could have had a slow build-up to the revelation that her mother and the whole coven are indoctrinating the kids into thinking the Jedi are villains. There are many cases throughout human history where groups and organizations have brainwashed children into believing the wrong things about the enemy or the "other". For eff's sake, the Nazi Party did this with German children, brainwashed them into serving their "cause". But then, in order for this to work, they'd have to present the witches as bad people from the start, or initially present their mother as nice only to show hints at her true nature that we and the characters would have to figure out gradually overtime, and they don't want to do that because "women good, men bad", and so... yeah. Not only that, but this plot would have needed to be properly fleshed-out, which would have required planning beforehand and multiple drafts, which really doesn't feel like was the case here. We all know there was zero planning with the Rey Palpatine trilogy, so who is to say there was any planning here? Everything that we've got sounds like a first draft was slapped onto the paper, with no proper editing or redrafting. I love that Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game's main actor) is getting more work and he's honestly doing a good job with the script he has. It just sucks that said script is such trash, made by people who don't care about the franchise they're driving into the ground.
Fun fact, lightsaber colors have meanings. Red means evil, blue means shoot first ask questions later, green means talk first shoot later. Yellow is somewhere between blue and green, and purple means somewhere between blue and red ( and purple is not popular in universe because of that ). White means strong with the light side, and black has no official meaning. Extra fun fact torbin wants to go home because the jedi temple at the time is on the wealthiest planet in the galaxy at that time. So he was basically a rich kid who wanted to stay home enjoying the luxury, and not outside in the woods camping. Yes I know jedi try to live more humbly, but they still have more luxury in that temple than Luke did on the farm in the desert. Edit: there is a power the force gives called force cloak or force stealth ( it kinda varies depending on the media ), it hides someone's presence in the force allowing for better stealth around force sensitive beings.

Ironic
They want to make the Jedi the bad guys because of their moralism and discipline as well as work in a “better” faction of force users. They, hwoever, have clearly been making this story up as they go; maybe it’s not AS obvious as Kenobi but nevertheless

I swear that discount jedi trinity was coached to talk and act like a Vulcan from Star Trek.
Ironically, if the Jedi hadn't broken in to get the girls, all of the witches would likely still be dead along with the sisters. Remember, Mae destroyed the Elevator control panel, then proceeded to set the (stone) room on fire, which quickly spread and blew up the power generator...
That only happened because the jedi broke in. They wouldn't be dead if the jedi didn't break in
@@Diiv_Tiid Except the fire and the breaking of the lift only happened before the jedi broke in the second time. Mae did both in response to Osha leaving.

I think they were intending to show and imply that Osha almost died because the Jedi delayed the covenent getting to her when Mae pleaded for help and that the Covenant dying was only because of Jedi intervention - but this makes no sense:
By the time Mae arrived at the stand off to get help for Osha the fire had already spread far.

To me this episode made the Jedi look stupid and incompetent, but not evil or the bad guys. No the honor goes to the witches with their mind control, gaslighting, attempt to force mae to kill and the mass suicide after mind controlling the Wookie to try and kill his friends.
Everyone in this show is stupid and incompetent. Just like the creaters of the show. Write what you know I guess.
I'm just trying to clarify something just in case I missed it several times. These Jedi are MASTERS correct? With the exception of Torbin of course
@Alteori no Sol is still a knight at this point not a master
Wait, where did the writer get the idea that the Nightsisters don't train children? Do they think the people of Dathomir just spring up out of the ground as fully formed adults? I mean, I don't know, they might, do they? Probably not.
One of the characters from the game jedi: fallen order is a night sister. And her backstory involves training as a child.

Like it was written by teams that thought that consistently wasn't worth the effort
Anyone else found it weird how Jedi Master Trinity seemed to care very little about her Padawan? I just ended up feeling sorry for him, no one seemed to care for him, probably because the writers didn't care for him.
He’s a huwhite male, of course no he’s to be shat on.
She doesn't seem to Care about anything 😂
(until they start doing bad things)
Since the Force exists in the universe and force sensitive people will always be born, those force sensitive people could easily be using their force powers to do bad things.

If Alteori loved seeing Torbin's lightsaber skills, then she would adore the fight choreography of the Prequel Trilogy.

(Seriously, what the f*ck was Leslye Headland and the rest of the writers smoking when they wrote this episode?)
Leslye Headland wants viewers to see the Sith as the "underdogs" and the Jedi as the "oppressors", but WHY? Is it because the Jedi are logical, reasonable, diplomatic, disciplined, and emotionally mature, while the Sith base almost everything on irrational, unreasonable, illogical, easily manipulated feelings and emotions as they lie, steal, cheat, and murder as they please? If you must know I was kind of venting over the backlash that accumulated over the years, since videos like Mr Plinketts
To be a Jed is basically allegorical of/for/to altruism(I’m confused on the grammar surrounding that word, admittedly). The reason they NEED to start young is to illustrate the overall sacrifice as well as convey the potency of the force and the consequences of not being properly conditioned
Furthermore I believe George makes it clear enough the students aren’t confined and can leave if they can’t hack it. The point is the controversy and the reaction to George, the Jedi and the prequels was unwarranted
As for Leslie I don’t want to say I’m disappointed but I’m surprised this show kind of backs out on its original intent: to make the Jedi the bad guys.
It’s like they have a flashback that makes them out to be the kidnappers they were associated with being but of course this episode confirms otherwise
Disney knows they shit the bed with the sequels and they know they need the fans they lost to tune in to shows like Andor and Mandalorian (not that I’m a fan of the later) but if they add visible foreshadowing to the sequels and confirm the show as officially tied in they tune out. Its true because any kind of foreshadowing to the empire rising again will change the story behind the Disney plus shows for the worst: Andor will have officially sacrificed all for a red herring, for the Death Star destroyer fleet that is
They of course are stalling: that’s why we don’t see any official sequel plot points and foreshadowing and that’s probably why this show didn’t trash the Jedi like they implied
I’d wish they’d just quit stalling and pick an official direction: shit or get off the can, Disney

@@LucasR.O heh I gurantee that we just put more thought and discussion into it than the writers
LONG POST IS LONG---->
Trinity jedi lady was actually being a realistic Jedi- far more emotionless as Jedi's are supposed to be in control of their emotions.
I admire your attempts, but it's like you're focusing on one kernel of corn in a sea of diarrhea and there's nothing you can do to fix the rest of it.
@@joshuacr well, I wasn't attempting to make any of the rest of it make sense, lol.
But you're right, it's basically beyond repair.
The dialogue was so weird, it was like Jedi cps. I was half expecting Jedi master Bubbles from Lilo and stitch. It was so off listening to them.
The jedi council saw what was going to happen and was loke "No Stop!"
Jedi Council: "They will make a terrible show of it."
Hey Alteori wanna know something that makes what the mother did even worse ?
Apparently in an interview the show runner said that what she was trying to do was to make her and May one with the force with that black cloud techniqu
What does becoming one with the force mean ?
From my point of view the mystery is how this script was approved 😂
@@Thisguy2532 IMDB lists up to seventeen producers in some episodes.
Just astounding.
I don’t see where the lie is 😂🤦♂️
The truth is very difficult to understand for the writers. As is the concept of right and wrong.
Yeah, Jedi what the fuck?
The reason why they didn't tell the council was because they were too embarrassed about what happened.
I'm sorry but can Disney pick a lane with lightsabers. Seriously this is the same universe where Sabine gets stabbed in the abdomen and survives and Reba gets stabbed twice and survives. Yet this dark side magic Force lady who quite literally turns into smoke and dies?
If she was going to let Osha go, why did she suddenly turn into a giant smoke demon?
This episode has done nothing to change the basic series summary: A heroic squad of Jedi try to rescue a pair of kids from an evil cult, but only manage to save one. That's still the situation, even with the alternate viewpoint and additional info. (And, of course, we now know that the kid they DID save grows up to be stupid and turns to evil anyway.)
The witch cult is still clearly evil and deserved what happened to them.

Honestly i could write a better star wars story featuring a sith as a main character also love the new fox avatar, i just wanna hug and squish em

There's already Sith books in the Eu. They could have adapted those but then they would have to pay royalties.
@@deathsdoor07 true and the eu sith books were awesome i loved the darth bane books
So Mae legitimately tried to burn her sister alive and I will not accept that pathetic bs they tried to pull when Mae acted surprised for a second, that the book got set on fire AFTER SHE SET IT ON FIRE.
We live in a Galaxy with SPACESHIPS and JETPACKS but hey, a wall will safe us, right?
I don't think they fly now...
The MEAT projection was very loud! 😅😂
Too bad its not used with Reeva.
