- Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed that 31 thousand Ukrainian soldiers have been killed fighting Russian forces -- a figure well below Russian claims and US estimates.
Speaking at a forum in Kyiv, he says 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died. The president also stresses that tens of thousands of civilians have been killed in Russian-occupied territory.

After 2 years of relentless Russian bombardments he lost only 31000 soldiers. And according to the Western "estimates", Russia lost over 300,000 troops. The ratio is almost 1: 10. Hence, for every Ukrainian soldier killed, Russia lost 10 soldiers. Yet Russia controls almost 20% of Ukrainian territory and crippled the Ukrainian army. You might be comparing KIA which Ukraine avoids to WIA which Russia attracts. 20% is much reduced from what they had earlier in the war (it's 17% now actually). The Ukrainian army is not at all crippled. There's a temporary worldwide shell shortage you know - this is being resolved. Scores of new munitions plants are being built across the West.

The U.S. doesn't know but Ukraine does. The latest KIA figure is consistent with Ukraine's two figures of last April and December before that. Wounded are about five times KIA for Ukraine, but 80% are not very serious. Cope with the truth for a change.

Because Russia has around 1 Million soldiers in Ukraine, same as Ukraine. But Russias goal is to recruit more to get to 1,5m. and if you want to make gains, you at least need compareable numbers if not even more. the front like 1000km wide.... and people need breaks, rest etc.

VDL was talking about casualties. About 1:5 of UAF casualties are KIA, so 31k deaths correspond to 155k casualties in total. Doesn't seem too far off, given that the war was much more intensive in the first year than it is now.

Ukraine abducts people from the streets(to be sent to the front), has been through many mobilization waves and is now going to mobilize 500k more people? They also lowered mobilization age by 2 years a few months ago.

With 100k dead and another 250-350k wounded that just leaves nobody to hold the line as Ukraine's army was still less then 700k at the time. From somebody who apparently follows what's going on beyond what media say, I would expect people to develop a sense of relativity of magnitude in the numbers and if they correspond to what we actually see on the battlefield. I have a good reliable source in Kiev so here are the correct numbers: Ukraine KIA = 12. Wounded = 28. Russian KIA = 16.2 million. Wounded = 44 million. Vehicles damaged = they are at 12 million but still counting.

Is also Ukraine that releases on X the daily losses of Russians, and they say it’s in excess of 400,000. It’s also Ukraine that tells us that they are outgunned 10 to 1 by the Russians.
It’s also Ukraine that says they need to recruit additional 500,000 soldiers. Well given the very low amount of losses sounds like they do fantastic and they really don’t need more support as they are obliterating the Russians. Also makes no sense why they say they want to recruit more soldiers
Another guy who has no idea how warfare works and how the frontline is looks like. You just need to look at one battle and compare how the Russians are fighting and how the Ukrainians are fighting, then you understand why Ukraine has so little losses.

Ridiculous number, with all due respect. Even if 3-4x times as many were killed, they still would not need to recruit the 500k they say they need. Thus, real number is likely closer to 150-200k dead.
You have no idea how armies work, do you? Do you think soldiers can keep fighting indefinitely? You can’t keep the same soldiers on the first line for three years, you need to rotate them. He also admitted that he can’t say how many wounded or dispersed they have.

Zelemskyy is probably correct about there being approximately 31,000 Ukrainians deaths. However, what he deliberately forgot to say was that is the figure since the beginning of 2024. The other, approximately 500,000 Ukrainian deaths, occurred in 2022 and 2023.
At least have a respect for the remaining 400,000 fallen you left on your nonsense stories, show some respect to also their families

Aside of the Russian (bots) here there are 4 points supporting this why Ukraines losses are far lower. Just Russo simpletons here have been never believing it would come to reality in actual numbers:
1. Russia is using meatwaves whereas Ukrainians do not.
2. When Russian is wounded, he will be left behind or shot or die anyway. Ukrainians do not.
3. Ukrainians are aware of being numerically inferior and literally have been using every moment in a way to have the least casualties whereas Russia does not take into account any losses in any strategy. They have been usong overwhelming numbers just to get something as immense losses.
4. Ukraine uses far more precise weaponry destroying Russians far more effectively, than Russia does.
This has been a loteral fact since the beginning of the war

If that’s the case, then Ukraine doesn’t need to mobilise 500k more in a politically risky move. This is just bullshct
Ukraine doesn't want to mobilize 500K more to send to the fight right now. They know that after Putin is re-elected, Russian recruitment will increase massively. What they want is to recruit enough soldiers early enough to be able to train and equip them and make the command structures of the new units work smoothly before those additional Russian troops enter the fight.
They do because Russia has been mobilizing more than a million additional men since 2022. And it is expected to intensify after Putin's reelection. Perhaps Ukraine could have avoided a general mobilization if we had provided them with the ammunition they need, but alas here we are.

These casualty numbers given by Zelensky make zero sense given that the Ukrainian army is screaming for more men and taking into account the Ukrainian claims of Russian casualties.

Given the time elapsed, the intensity of the conflict, the number of troops involved, and the lethality of the weapons used, the military deaths for Ukraine are at least in the 150,000 range.

The number of soldiers that die in actual battle, which as you would imagine, is for example a coordinated offensive to gain ground is actually rather small compared to the daily attrition of having about a million troops sitting in trenches for two years.
