    • @amarnaths3014
      @amarnaths3014 4 месяца назад +6

There was a cinema theatre by name Majestic close to the Upparpete Police Station. That's the reason the area was called Majestic. About 50 years ago, it was called Subhashnagar, the bus stand was also named so.
The current semi circular bus stand came about around 1980. And it became called as Kempegowda bus ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ much later.

My grand pa used to tell stories of his childhood bengaluru.. how native bengalureans were discriminated before independence by British controlled areas.. they needed permission equallent of visa before entering british areas as other areas were under mysore kingdom.. bengaluru was literally two country before independence..

When the British influence was still around! Large roads...Tree lined streets, Sprawling British Bunglows with huge gardens! Roads dotted with Gulmohar, Sampige, Margosa, Walnuts and Almond trees, When buses replicated scenes from London - the Red double decker, Railway stations were clean and less crowded, when the City was clean, quieter and peaceful! When there were no Migrant crisis and Rains happened on time and most importantly the good old Bangalore Weather was intact! Truly the England of the South!

Bangalore is spoiled because of north Indians, if all north Indians leave Bangalore, it will restore its lost glory. Unfortunately BIMARU states are not developed and we are feeding them. Still we have not got independence.

Bombay and Gujju marwaris have been here for more than a century. You can say less IT and Globalization in core areas of city, thats all.

Blame our own Karnataka politicians. Other than Devaraj Aras and SM Krishna avaru, no one really cared about the city. After 2000s not a single politician even planted a sapling or improved even 1 lake. Don't hate disciplined other staters. If you do so, you will only lose to Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune and become outdated and lost like Kolkata which once was relevant and important. Because of politics it got destroyed, just as ours is becoming now. JDS, Congress, BJP all of them failed. Only 2 older misters in past (mentioned above) did something good and due to that we are in this stage atleast.

Ask government, why they did not do even one of the following (if not more)-
      1. New reservoir developed after Hesaraghatta and T.G.Halli in the 1930s and earlier.
      2. Plan electronic city, marathalli properly
      3. Plant more trees in new areas
      4. Care for and improve conditions of lakes. Prevent encroachment.
      5. Save and revive Arkavathy and Vrishabhavathy rivers.
      6. Road widening. Width is same from last 30 yrs, lol.
      7. PRR not even after 18 years. Hyderabad got by 2008 itself.
      8. Faster and earlier metro completion
      9. Decongest city by developing satellite towns like Bidadi, Magadi, Nelamangala, Hoskote, Tumkur, etc.
      10. Suburban train project. All major cities of India have this other than Blore.
      11. ITIR project failure. Kempegowda layout delayed.
      12. No development in Mysore, Mangalore-Udupi, Hubli-Dharwad, Davanagere regions.
      13. State government rejected Mangalore's 30,000 crore petroleum city project. Even though Centre was ready to fund.
      14. State government rejected Karwar's 4000 MW coal Power plant project. Even though Centre was ready to fund.
      15. Development of North Karnataka water shortage and infrastructure.
And the list goes endless.... I mean not even 1 of these was solved in last 25 years after SM Krishna & Devaraj Urs. Because all Karnataka kannadiga politicians are interested only in eating mudde , sleeping, looting money from common fools like us. One of the most corrupt buch- our Karnataka politicians.
