Can I translated this video into my language (Vietnamese) and upload them on facebook so many more carats can know about it, please? I will keep the credits
Vernon talking about being a halfer and being against racism made me emotional. He has been so intellectual from such a young age Edit: this whole freaking video made me emotional
I connected to that video a bit because in quite a few schools I've gone to I was the only "black" person(I'm mixed) and I got stared at and called names.
@Victoria Lee Swag Queen I think it's important to remember that you aren't really 'half and half', you're just all of both. It can be hard to fit in to people with only one nationality (I can relate) and I hope you can do well and feel like you belong ;)
@oof it's just people have huge stereotypes with race, especially when it comes to mixing them. People think all mixed kids are attractive, but when some don't meet those standards they are denounced to something of a human mutt.
What I love about it is that he had a complex about it due to korean beauty standards, but after The8 insisted on building his confidence, he started to like it and also encouraged a fan to get rid of her own complex by telling her about his own struggle~ I felt really proud of him that day. Honestly I love how the boys never bring one another down. They truly care about each other and their feelings.
@@heyitsmira17 obviously bcz it's funny that his color is a complex nd not upto his country's beauty standard but than there r country who appreciate slight tan color kinda fair 🤪🙄🙄 always think if you are not upto standard of ur country than u must be the standard of another country .I think this beauty standard thing is in our head ,we make these stupid standard.
What language should we use, British English, everyday English, Arabic, simplifed Chinese? I guess is too hard nowdays to use figueres: charts, symbols, educational pictures and videos?
Robyn Humphries henlo, I think the person said that to hint that he/she is from Africa , eg I buy pants that are too long , I’ll say *cries in short* implying that I’m short, hope you understand:)
Robyn Humphries they might be african too, hence why they said that. the ‘cries in (x)’ is an internet joke that has been going around for quite a while. for example, say if seventeen achieve something great, carats will sometimes comment ‘cries in proud carat’. i don’t think they intended to be racist or to offend anyone. i think it was just a misunderstanding!
@@bernadetthumphrey9231 lmao i don't think it was meant to be taken seriously luv, for example lets say a bunch of my favourite idol groups came out with new albums i would "cry in broke" lol because I wouldn't be able to afford it
Minghao is really a great person. They all are. Despite being under pressure and always have to do right, since Korean people tend to be conservative, I love how these boys don’t care and just do what they believe in. I love that.
i agree. minghao and jun are chinese and chinese people also have a tendency of being conservative, (not to mention they work in a korean society too) and the other 11 members are amazing too for standing up for these issues in the korean society. seventeen are so lovable. 💎
As a biracial, listening to tiny Hansol talking about being a halfer literally brought tears to my eyes and made so emotional. He's so mature at such a young age it makes me feel so proud of him.
i'm not biracial, but I understood what he meant when he said he felt like he was an outsider since i was the only indian in my class when i lived in singapore. And I also got emotional too when I heard him talk. i totally agree with what u said about him being really mature at a young age and i wish that other kids get educated that we are all human.
Yeah same. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking to see such a tiny little soul have to learn that the world holds this kind of bullshit in store for them. Awful.
I'm so glad Seventeen is really close to Monsta X. They both fight for equality and love even if they know they could be criticized. I just came here to give some love to Carats because our relationship is just as strong as the MonTeen. Trust me, you are stanning the right group.
6:27 Wonwoo sitting there, feeding cats, with a shirt that says “Happy bean” and wearing his adorable glasses, is something I never knew I needed in my life but now I’m uwuing so hard
You should Jun also on the list. He is also a big supporter of lgbt, feminism, animals, etc. Jun's very close friends acted in known BL movies and dramas. Jun also posted a photo with Hush who is taiwan's first openly gay singer and said he wants to collab with him. He loves his songs. In NY (Going SVT), Jun bought a bag with a pride flag. Jun is a big support of women. His parents divorced when he was 2 years old. He sang a korean song "Mom" on one of their concert. He sang it for his mother for all the pain she went thru to protect her only son. His love for his mother is out of this world. Once when Seventeen was having an event, Jun noticed his fansite (girl) looked tired from holding her camera the whole time. Jun told called her noona and said that she should put the camera down if it's too hard. He told her that it doesn't matter and that she should relax and just enjoy watching. And Jun said many times in interview and on vlive that he wants to have animals, but he can't raise one right now cause he is too busy. He said an animal is like a family, it need all your love, care and time. He had raised many animals in the past and he respect them alot. EDIT: Jun's single Crow was produced by a gay couple from Malaysia and Crow is the very first song they had ever produced. Jun himself chose their song and the couple was very thankful for that. The song uses crows to represent people who are looked down upon or are outcasts of society, and says that 'crows' are still worthy of love and are still beautiful. Jun: "Crow conveys the message that there are more or less differences between people in this society. As long as you learn not to think in color, and learn to accept and appreciate, you would find that the crow is also a beautiful creature. The crow also has the courage to fly for what he wants." The background story and the message about prejudice hits even deeper. Remember the interview when Jun was asked what he thinks about people calling him weird. Jun answered with a slightly sad smile: "Very person is different and I'm perfectly normal."
nah nah...i can assure you that even if not everyone’s a carat (unfortunately) , no matter the fandom, svt is always respected as a group and individuals who's always in the right.
Minghao is such a beautiful soul, especially with him reassuring Mingyu that his skintone doesn't change how beautiful he is, that really made me cry a lot.
2:43 about what Wonwoo says, I really think about a lot. There are so many idols that are incredibly smart, incredibly woke, and actually don't get the chance to speak or say what's on their minds because their own fans put them inside a box/concept and refuse to think anything else of them. For example, Jeonghan has said before that he would have liked/would like to major in psychology, because human behaviour is really interesting to him and he'd like to learn more about it, but how many fans remember that? He's shown as the prankster and lazy one, as if he only had enough neurones to think of jokes.
Only a few knows about this and even shocked when they knew he is taking advertising major right now. Jeonghan is observant, sensitive to people around him and very understanding. He knows to respect peoples private space(the reason introverts like Woozi that doesn't like skinship is at ease with him for he doesn't force it) and a good listener. He easily adapts to peoples personalities and very fast thinker too. He is smart and also very empathetic.
@@engelien992 Jeonghan said he is really shy around other people and if you watch 17tv he really quiet and just in the corner observing. He said he only pranks and tease people he is at ease or close with so feel lucky when he does to you. He also knows his jokes can't be accepted easily by anybody so he is thankful for the members humor him and if you observe the members he always pranks are the ones that receive his pranks well. Dino nugu aegi stopped because Dino said he doesn't like it and Jeonghan respected his feelings yet also the first member that treated Dino like an adult so you see they became more close now than before.Dino said Jeonghan is the most hyung to him
I'm not a carat but I've known of Jeonghan since about a year ago. One of the reason I knew of him was his long hair, for whatever reason it was a hot topic back then and I respected him so, so much for his Harley Quinn cosplay (?). But seeing this makes me unexplainably happy. In about two months from now I have to decide on my major in college and all my life I wanted to do nothing but psychology its my favourite thing ever, but my parents kept telling me that its a hopeless career, you're either really good at it or you're going to shit, its not gonna take you anywhere, only the crazies go for it, and I eventually started believing them. Was planning to take English. Knowing this just makes me feel so warm. Its like this weird validation I always needed but never got. Im so thankful for him to share this.
I just want to add the fact that Wonwoo has given multiple personal donations to that cat shelter you mentioned at 6:09, and regularly volunteers at that cat shelter. The shelter specifically thanked him because he often visit and helps out, cleaning and taking care of the lil cats... he was actually the reason SVT had that session with those cats~ because he got them involved in it. He's very big on helping and caring about cats because he sees many being neglected or abandoned by their owners and left as strays. He feeds strays near their dorms often and calls them his friends~ He's such a cute goodhearted boy who cares about animal rights ;-; Anyway thank you so much for this video! I knew all of this already, but I'm glad from reading the comments that many more people know now. Seventeen are an amazing group, and they deserve to have ppl love them not only for their talents/visual but also their great character!
this video is really important. i have friends who dont pay attention to svt because they dont like their music, and they just assume that they're bad. but they really arent. they're amazing, open, genuine boys full of emotion. this is exactly the reason I stan them; they're supporters. kindhearted supporters and wonderful people. people shouldn't hate them just because they dont like their music. like Wonwoo said, it's okay to not like something. but it's not okay to judge them simply by what you dont like about SVT'S music.
It's ok not to stan because of a dislike for the artists music, after all that should be the thing driving you to like them and the thing that gets you to stay is them. But I do think it's wrong to hate and completely discredit their hard work and talent without knowing anything about them.
I actually was one of these people too 😂 I feel bad now lol. I didn’t really like their music (tho I really like their recent ones now like “HIT”) so I never paid attention to them and I really regret it. I now decided to stan them after seeing them as people and individuals and “fell in love” with the group and the characters of each other ❤️
It’s absolutely crazy I have never been into kpop or watched a single Koop music video. I was scrolling through my recommended on RUclips and their 2019 New York kcon interview popped up that was uploaded the day after and I’ve been hooked since. And I know it’s 2019 and they’ve been together now for about 4 years but I can honestly say I’m so much happier knowing that I found them and what their group truly is about. #CARATS
i thought it was weird for me to cry since i’ve been stanning them since debut, i’ve seen them grow, it just warms my heart that i’m not the only one who got emotional
Even my brother, who likes boy group songs but only stans girl groups ended up falling for S.Coups. Seventeen has THAT energy and that kind of power, amen to our woke kings. as a black carat I really do appreciate them
mayakatsu that’s that S.Coups’ magic right there! 😂 but yeah he’s a wonderful representative of how charming and sweet SVT is; it makes it hard to not love them ❤️
That vernon's meaning of happiness really change my perspective of happiness, from the very first time I watched it. That maybe is why people are greedy, sad, and desperate. Also that Seungkwan's quote "Success isn't the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success." Yes, I live for Seventeen's perspective of life. This is maybe one of the reasons why I stan Seventeen.
new carat here. i just wanted to say that seventeen has my deepest respect. i cried watching this because their good n amazing deeds really touched my heart, it gives me hope for this world. i am deeply glad that despite being an artist in a conservative country, they are using their platform to be a role model and inspire others to do good. it seems like not many kpop stans know about the beautiful human beings svt are. i hope we can all pass the word around about seventeen (especially mentioning their good deeds) way more often. they really deserve so much more recognition and appreciation. go you seventeen... we are proud.
The group is really intelligent and genuinely nice; -Constantly completing each other and being encouraging -Being who they want and not holding back their option -They raise so much awareness and you can tell its not for show -The reality shows are very funny and seem unscripted Not saying that other groups are btw, its just what attracted me to them. I stanned them last year and I do not regret any bit of it. Hope then all the best in 2019. Fighting! 👍
I love how they also perform songs by female groups with full respect not making their voices high pitched to make fun or dressed in wigs and dresses 🥰 god I love them so much IM NOT CRYING YOU ARE
I was so inspired when minghao said : " getting good grades isnt a grantee that your life will go well. You have to do what you love" So from now on i will do what i love!!! ---with good grade lol xd😂😂
Just shows how quiet of a person Wonwoo is, but every word he let goes would hold so much weight and meaning. I admire and love SVT and every idol and people who could muster courage and push limits that people themselves placed in this society.
Seeing K-Pop groups like Seventeen, makes me really think that K-Pop Community is a whole lot better if you go deep into it. They don't just share music and entertainment, they also share their happiness, understanding and love to all of us. Whether you like them or not, whether you know them or you don't. Maybe we should make a community where fandoms of K-Pop groups send awareness around the world. This is a good thing for us too.
everytime I feel down because of the amount of homophobia in my country and family, I'm coming back to videos like this for some comfort and I feel slightly better. these guys are so amazing and I wish them nothing but love and happiness :(
I supported lgbt from the bottom of my heart, but after seeing aggressive people I stopped supporting it. Now I support it again, but only the good part, like you!
Also all of them are great, but I just want to say *specifically* that Wonwoo is genuinely such an amazing goodhearted human being with good morals and mindset.... and it's overlooked as i see on twitter sometimes where ppl say nonsense shit about him because he's a little introverted compared to the others >
I am that type of kpop stan who listen to different music and artists but only choose to stan a group based from their personalities. In my 15 years of being a kpop stan, ive never seen one like seventeen. They literally have everything. The talents are given but the humility and astonishing personality, this group really stands out from other groups. You can't barely see a group nowadays who stood up for different causes. In their own little ways they are able to help and promulgate stances on different issues. This video only proves that seventeen, more than the talent, they have the heart of a true celebrity. They dont just do it for fame, they do it because they know that this is whats right. Clickbaiting and hypocrisy isnt part of their dictionary. SEVENTEEN BEST BOYS. period.
So happy to see a 'old kpop' person. i also watch kpop for 20 years. Seventeen is a special group to me, and to me Seventeen is THE BEST group. More than sing, dance, talents, funny, visuals. Whatever you want in 'idol', seventeen has it.
I have not been into kpop for that long, But it's really the same reason for me, Definitely why I am currently ulting Seventeen, (TXT and Stray kids too)
This is why svt has a lot of fanboys nowadays. They don't make it hard for people to appreciate them no matter what the gender is, they're relatable and genuine that even elders, people on their 60s, 70s or even older appreciate these young men. Seventeen is a god gift. A luxury that is offered to everyone but only few people can afford, and I'm truly glad I did. Thank you for making this video. 💕
This is true! I'm a fanboy and sadly I've noticed some other fandoms can be very rude to fanboys, saying it's not right to like boygroups if you're a guy. Carat are really accepting and nice like seventeen themselves :)
@@joshuas6265 omgg those people are despicable! Seventeen and carats adore fanboys so much. The stereotyping needs to stop. I know some of these fanboys are always called out or associated as being gay which is vvv wrong lmao. Seventeen are guys so it's understandable if guys wanna follow their style and be inspired to achieve their dreams just like what svt is doing. Hoshi and most of svt members are fanboys of several boy groups too so no need to be afraid of that. We're glad to have everyone in all genders in our fandom. 😊💗 Ps. Sorry if my English is bad. 😭
what hansol said about happiness just changed my whole perspective on it. thinking of the happiness you have as a small quantity then you will get greedy and never be satisfied with your life leading to mental health issues. wow he just changed my mindset 🤯 i’m thankful he said that since i’ve been dealing with mental health problems
I get to know Seventeen just right after my 20th birthday. Reaching adulthood feels terrifying and unfamiliar and I was struggling with sth. Knowing Hansol changed my entire mindset and allowed me to live more unpologetically and to be more accepting of anything that happens and to enjoy even the smallest of things. He quite literally saved me, I'm rrally thankful to have met Seventeen
Me too. I'm a bi woman. I'm off the market because I'm married to my wife and monogamous but I am one of those who feels I always was bi and always will be despite who ever I am with. I am in my 30's so here's giving love and hope to younger LGBT carats that your future will be bright :) because my life turned out ok.
@@magroves CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am also bi but have not found anyone yet (I'm also still a teenager LOL) but I am very happy you found your special woman. 😄😄
vernon talking abt racism made me cry. he’s my bias and it definitely reminded me of somi. they are both mixed, extremely beautiful and talented ppl, and went through bullying. it makes me sad on how far behind korea is culture wise. my love to all of seventeen and especially to vernon! i love you 🥰 edit: vernon is making me tear up again bless him so much. edit again: BLESS ALL OF SEVENTEEN WE NEED MORE IDOLS LIKE THIS edit again: YALL RLY HAVE THE AUDACITY TO MAKE ME CRY LIKE THIS AT ONE IN THE MORNING HUH
Just saying but Seungkwan seemed to have grown up without a dad and a hard working mom. He only has respect for women! I love him so much!! Edit: I never saw the replies til now, 2 years later lol. My bad, so his dad has played an active and positive role in his life, that’s good to hear! He just loves and appreciates his mom a lot!
Seungkwan did grew up with a dad but maube because he has 2 older sisters and his mother taking care of him that's why he has so much respect for women. His dad really loves him too, promoting him and seventeen to his clients and he seems really proud of him 😆💕
He grew up with his dad, he runs a tourist bicycle tour on Jeju. It's just that the women in his life have had a large impact on him as he has 2 older sisters and a truly loving mom. I think he feels it's important to mention the women in his life since Korean culture seems to promote father and son and daughter mother relationships specifically, and you don't tend to see men/boy's relate so much with their mother's or sisters. His dad is such a loving and supportive dad, he's always promoting svt around the island and to all of the tourists, it's so cute 💖💖
I'm literally crying right now, they're one of the greatest groups in earth I swear, they not only do good music and have great personality, they care about everyone, they're so open minded and really lovely people, I love them with all my heart, I hope one day I can meet them. Thank u for make this video and to the person in twitter for the thread. Also, I add that Vernon saw "Moonlight" and he said that he liked the relationship of the two men.
as a japanese carat, japan and south korea has difficult relationship and some of my country’s people don’t accept the fact that our county’s soldier did to south korean women, it’s such a shameless thing and i feel really sorry for that. but in the other word, it’s possible to we create good relationship in future, be kind and nice to each other, don’t judge for their race. svt wearing shirt to show support to south korean women is obviously good thing, but also svt’s member didn’t hate japan cause of that, like some of south korean people are (i feel so sad bcs also some of japanese hates korean people too) and they are really nice to japan. i stan to write people. sorry my english is terrible but, plz get the point 😂😂
立花悠里 sometimes humanity is dark. I’m from Taiwan and Chinese blood related ppl hates Japanese for the Nanjing Massacre, and some old soldiers that fought in the Chinese civil war hates China, and a lot ppl hate the KMT government because of 228 incident seeing ppl fighting over dark history incidents is painful, but they are still in pain too, i feel for them.
My Korean friend invited me and a couple of other classmates to her church to learn Korean, eat Korean snacks and talk about their history. She explained that she still cries during history class in school back in Korea and the whole class has to take a break because it's still somewhat recent, like their grandparents were affected. Our Japanese girl in our class apologize on behalf of Japan and hug and me, (a Mexican) and a white girl, that has not been affected by Korea/Japan's relationship that much, felt in our hearts and spend the rest of the class crying.
I'm Indonesian and I understand that because there are many young girls forced to be comfort women back then. Honestly, we get hurt when we know our dark history, in every case. But history exists so we can learn and not do the same mistakes. Thank you to stand for humanity. PS: I really love Japan and I'm thankful that your country spreads anime, manga, culture, language, and many things diversity.
Damn vernon talking abt being a halfer really hit im half korean, belgian and live in belgium so racism is pretty common sometimes i have so much respect for him speaking up abt it
"Getting good grades isn`t a guarantee that your life will go well. You have to do what you love" I literally could hold in my tears until this part came. When i was in kindergarden and until 2nd grade, my mom always forced/pushed me to have the best grades or else she would punish me. I got always the best grades even when my mom didn`t forced me to. I wasn`t happy with that title mostly because it got boring to have it. At age 7, my mother signed me up in a dance class. I still go there, and honestly, it is the only i can actually smile and feel happiness. although my mom tells me "i don`t know why are you so interested in that. Honestly i only putted you there so that you can be away from the tecnology for a moment, but it seems like you took it way too serious" It has now became one of the couple reasons of why i still can be alive. I` m not a Carat, but still, Thank you so much Seventeen, seriouly.
wonwoo read books a lot and his knowledge is getting bigger and wiser so i think that's why he's the best to understanding lifes and people and respect to each other❤️ i love and stan the right group.
It kills me that Hansol had to deal with racist people at a young age. I’m black.. so i can relate to him in some way. Wherever you go, race will always be a part of your character.. I hate that.
I know right? I literally bursts into tears that my ult bias have to experience that at the very young age and look how painful it is for him to confess that he didn't like people ogling at him or just being plainly rude since he's unique. I really hope people would stop being hostile to others just because they're different. Stereotyping, racism, stigmatization and etc need to stop. We need to get our shits tgt before we unknowingly kill each other. : (
SEVENTEEN IS DRIPPIN' MY CHILLI SAUCE i hate watching some variety shows with the china line or vernon in it because they always refer to them as “foreigners” and they look so hurt being called that.
It was also interesting how he pointed out the difference in treatment he got from other halfers like him, bc he is half white, and his friends who have darker skin tones suffer more. He was really raised well
I'm East Asian, and although I've never been hit with the ChingChangChong before, I thinks it's extremely stupid to discriminate against other people just for their skin color and culture. Our world is diverse and there's a plethora of different races and cultures, but we still live on the same globe. Thus, mutual respect is extremely important.
adds up: "When a time like that comes (depressed thoughts), i just let it be. I've been working so hard, maybe it's natural that i feel this way. I just let the depression sink in sometimes. It actually helps me refresh a little bit when i do that." - Seungkwan on Hit The Road because it hurt me
I always loved SVT music but I didn't want to fall in the "carat" zone. Not because they are "not talented enough", but because I knew I would end up loving them and I can't bring myself to look after more idols. I've always been more girlgroup-type but seeing them how they TRULY are warms my heart... Might give them a chance though. Know I get why carats are so respectful, with such great examples I would be too! (I mean, I am respectful... But carats are a whole other level) Carats seem like a lovely modern family breaking "society rules" and I love that. Count me in from today! This 'Venom' guy seems so lovely and caring he might become my bias
a lot of seventeen fans are girl group stans we’re called svt x gg 😊 it’s known that seventeen are the only bg that most gg stans like around their gg idols since they’re so respectful when covering gg dances and are gentlemen 🥰 you can just tell how comfortable women are around them
Just wanna and my own small little moment most Carats may not know of. On their Andromeda vapp after winning their first rookie award they briefly talked about how not only is it hard for some people to lose weight, its also hard for some people to gain weight to which Wonwoo and Minghao briefly talked about their struggles with weight gain. This got me so emotional for so many reasons. I personally am underweight and have trouble gaining weight. Its a lot harder than some people seem to think so they fact they they acknowledged it and know about it makes me so happy. It also just made me happy to hear someone in the spotlight, someone with a voice, say something, especially in a culture they live in where appearance and being "skinny" is the ideal.
Oh an adding to my own comment i'd just like to thank Seventeen for always trying to learn a bit of the native language to whichever country they are going to. They don't have to, and they know they don't have to, but they do it anyways because they want to. I can only speak on my experience of seeing them here in NZ. When introducing themselves some spoke in Maori, which is big because a lot of New Zealanders nowdays don't speak Maori often. The fact they could have just spoken in English but took it that one little step further, even if it was maybe one sentence or a couple words, melts my heart.
As a person who is 39kg (86 pounds) and 160cm (5”3)I can understand their struggle. I personally don’t want to be fat and I am glad to be skinny, but I am obviously too skinny. Even some K-pop idols that are shorter than me and I am skinner. Personally I want to get to 40kg (90 pounds).
@@_Min__Min_ That's a good goal! I'm currently 42kg and 158cm but been through all the medical stuff like bone density scans etc. Its not enough for me so my current goal is 50kg. Keep up the good work
idk if you included, but there's the video where mingyu introduces bongbong to buzmu & he explains that they're genderless but also that bongbong "deserves love from both sexes"
2:38 HELL YEEH OUR MR. JEON IS RIGHT PEOPLE REALLY SHOUDNT JUDGE OUR IDOLS JUAT BY THERE LOOKS ESPECIALLY BY IUR NON KPOP FAN PARENTS WHO THINK BOY IDOLS ARE GAY. EDIT: WATCHING OUR BOYS BEING SUPPORTERS IS MAKING ME SO SO EMOTIONAL AND HAPPY
Just wanted to put this out there. Yes somethings they do because their company tells them to do to give them a good image, but we can’t judge their intentions based on that. We can’t also a 100% believe what we see, this world is not black and white, so there are a lot we don’t know about. My point is as carats it’s also our responsibility to educate them if they do something wrong and not just protect them. I hope we can all pay attention to ourselves and help each other along the way and listen to each other no matter what happens in the future bc scandals will happen in the future whether we like it or not. We are all from different backgrounds and we need to understand that somethings are more controversial to others even if we don’t know the reasons, so we need to listen to each other. That’s all I have to say.
I feel comforted by them cuz i never told my parents that I’m bi and I don’t feel they will support, So seeing all these idols makes me happy and proud to be bi
I can't help comparing Minghao giving confidence to Mingyu about his skin color and EXO members repeatedly teasing Kai about his, like it's something shameful. I can't imagine how hard it must have been for Kai, I would've lost all my confidence so fast. Meanwhile, we have The8 telling Mingyu he's handsome and all, so his skin tone doesn't matter. It's in this kind of moments I'm happy to stan a group as open, kind and wonderful as Seventeen💎💖🥕
Seventeen is such a humble group i am proud of being a fan but mostly proud of minghao he is such a kind hearted man he is very mature and aware of the world surrounding him i admire him very much
I was already emotional and in tears by 0:33. I’m 15 and have been hiding I was Pansexual from my family for years only for my best friend of 12 years (who really was my only friend) to get mad at me back in January and tell my mom behind my back when I begged her not to just because she was upset with me not knowing how much that affected my life. It was the worst moment of my entire life leaving me so suicidal. The fact that seventeen (who have given me such joy since I stanned in 2018) show their support like this even in the smallest gestures just makes me wanna never leave their side. They’ve seriously helped me go through so much and I know I’ll never be able to see them and truly tell them how much they’ve been there for me but that’s okay. It sucks knowing no one in my life has my back and supporting me through these tough times but just things like these I don’t know I can’t stop crying in happiness every time I watch this. I love you Seventeen ❤️ and thank you for all that you do for us
When Vernon was saying how he hated ppl staring at him in public as a kid I just wanted to go up to him and tell (kid) Vernon their staring at you because your so beautiful inside and out. He was so fricken pure! He didn’t even curse he just stayed neutral through it like he was just stating the facts in a respective manor which unfortunately isn’t as common as it once was.
Ever since I became a Carat and learning about Vernon being half korean half american I have wondered how it was for him moving to Korea and growing up there because of his more western look. I know that a lot of koreans look down on people who looks foreign or in other ways look/are different. I have always had a feeling that he would get those looks from strangers but I have always hoped that it wasn't the case. To hear him say the things he did in the clip at 3:05 at such a young age is almost heartbreaking. But I'm glad that he didn't let all that stop him from making music.

I am not a fan of Seventeen, but I respect them not only as an idol group, as a group that respects people, and no matter what sex, gender, nationality, race, sexuality and other. Even protect animals! Please, respect and love them, because such groups as Seventeen rarely meet. P. S. From Russia
And this one of reasons why I Love Seventeen. Popularity never changed them. They're still hard-working, nice and Kind. I wish all were like that. They're the best. Please support them
wowwwwww. i'm a 28 year old lesbian who works at a software company, and i searched different kpop group interviews out of bored curiosity of what each group is about. i clicked this video with, honestly, a little bit of skepticism, but wow i was amazed. this is so heartwarming and hopeful, i'm sincerely a fan of this group now. thanks for making this.
@@NhanNguyen-tm8dq yes no I know but like even more cause I think they deserve it because in my country, only a few people know about them or maybe I just don’t know much people but yeah🥺
i'm assuming you're a filipino carat. compared to 2015-2017, there are a lot of carats in the ph now and it is overwhelmingly beautiful 🥺 the boys attract so many solid fans that appreciate them in a different way. i don't think they are underrated now, but rather we are growing into something stable ^^
this is the video that turned me into a carat (i started stanning in august this year). even before stanning, they already made me feel so warm and accepted. svt best boys forever and beyond 💗
I deeply respect seventeen as human beings now. As idols too, because they know their impact and influence power and use it for good. I am so happy for discovering another group socially conscious and now I’ll search them up and always pay attention to them.
i actually started crying bc i’m adopted and i didn’t know about the letters for angels campaign! i am adopted from korea and was very premature, so i was technically disabled as a baby as well. this really tugged at my heart strings. 감사합니다 세븐틴. 사랑해요 🧡🧡
i’m literally so proud of them, like y’know most artist/bands don’t really go out their way to promote anti-racism, feminism, lgbtq+, etc, but they literally go all out even though korea is conservative. as an asian american person as well as a fellow activist towards anti-racism, feminism, lgbtq+, etc (literally everything seventeen has publicly supported), it makes me extremely happy to know that i’ve picked the right group (my ult group ofc)
it makes me really happy that groups like seventeen, monsta x and bts are so open about these topics and show their support through their music. kinda makes you feel less alone. idk guys im just emotional
Same, I have abandoned many boy groups I stanned before because I witnessed very problematic attitudes. Like VIXX, whom I loved for 3 whole years but somehow I fell out of love when I watched One Fine Day where they kept saying N looks like the black pig they saw on a farm. N was really uncomfortable but they keep picking on him and it ticked me off because I AM DARK SKINNED ALSO, and N is probably lighter than me. Also in BTS where they keep making fun of girl group dances during their earlier years, but BTS are more mature now and I appreciate that they've learned from their mistakes. However, one group that just infuriated me was iKON. During that episode where they had to give Hanbin a punishment because he lost one game, they decided to make him "come out" to his mom by admitting that he likes men. They were laughing heartily at the thought of coming out so I shut the episode down and cried furiously because iKON was one of the inspirational groups I've met and I was so let down. I am a closeted gay living in a homophobic family and they do not understand how hard it is for gays to come out. Them treating it like a joke made me unstan them in seconds.
After becoming loyal to Seventeen and giving them so much attention and trust they have only brought upon happiness, emotions, and a new perspective to look at things. Not once have I’ve doubted seventeen, they are so humble and hard working. Mature and dorky. And you can see their bond would never be broken because they really do feel like a family that you forget that your watching a boy group.
@@17caratmonster14 Can you tell me when BTS made fun of girl group dances? I'm not trying to be rude its just I've never heard nor seen of that and I wanna know about it.
@@jintellectual2114 it's nothing really, just that one time Hobi danced to Ice Cream Cake and he danced to it comically. Then he danced on another show with Jungkook and they danced Russian Roulette but he did it properly. Just ticked me off. He could dance to the songs properly, why make it so comedic? But really it isn't even a big deal. I haven't unstanned BTS I still love them from debut up til now
@@17caratmonster14 Oh okay! :) Thanks for letting me know. If it makes you feel any better Red Velvet reacted to his cover and laughed at( mainly joy.) Also im sorry about the other stuff you mentioned in your previous comment. Im a closeted bi, and though my family isnt homophobic... its hard to explain to them about my sexuality. I hope everything is okay💜
I’m actually pretty emotional right now. Idols aren’t all about looks, yes they’re beautiful inside and out but most of all is to make sure they have a beautiful heart. Love has no limits, love who you want to love. Seventeen makes me really soft and emotional because they express their feelings into songs, I know all idols are like that but something about the things they talk about are close to home for a lot of people. Home and Hug have such as an amazing behind them. Home is a place where you feel like you’re suppose to belong, Seventeen is our home and anyone is welcomed. Hug is such a tearjerker, it represents so many people who are feeling down, don’t feel like living anymore but as Seventeen says “You’ve done well..” because that’s what so many people want to hear. That they’ve done a great job and want to know that they’re loved. I would never regret stanning Seventeen, Seventeen Fighting! Carat Fighting!
11:09 this also speaks volumes. a shit ton of boygroups cover girl songs and use it as a comedy part, wear dresses and act hypersexual on purpose. you can cover girl songs while being respectful. overall seventeen (especially seungcheol) wore pro-lgbt clothes and accessories so many times that it cant be some kinda coincidence or something they just happened to have in their closet. im so proud of them.
I think all of them are the most inclusive, humane and mature idols that I've ever seen. This video REALLY touched me to the bottom of my heart, I think we all need more people like them in the world, it will be, without a doubt, a much better world to live in. If I already wanted to stan svt, this video made me appreciate them even more, so I'm going to become a carat very soon😭💕
Edit: oh my gawd I have over three hundred likes....thank you!!! These are the reasons to stan seventeen........I MIGHT END UP CRYING.......... (It doesn't help that I'm pansexual and a trans male that's in high school)
I just support Super junior for about 8 years. And I always said that I will never support other group, but that change the first time that I saw Seventeen and all their hard work to became idols. I won't regret, this video and all that they do makes me feel proud. Seventeen has a lot of talent and a huge heart too. They are just perfect
you are same as me, I've been suju fan since 2009 and I tried to ignore new boy group. But everything started recently when suju collect their sons (heechul~jun yesung~the8) on IG. Now I'm both elf and carat, I loved myself for supporting this amazing groups.
The mask Scoups wore with the saying 'war is money. freedom is strength. Ignorance is slavery' Reminds me of the slogans in 1984 novel that says 'War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength'. It just reminds me of this cause that novel was in our syllabus last year😆
I'm not a CARAT but this video popped out in my recommendation and I don't regret watching this instead I'm PROUD of them 👏👏👏 good job and keep going SEVENTEEN FIGHTING !!!
Jeon Via06 Same for me. I’m not a fan either and this popped in my recommendations so I decided to watch it. So glad I did. They have my deepest respect. 🧡
i’m not a big svt fan, i would like to get into them more but they should high key be the most popular boy group. like they’re amazing over all, i don’t think any boy group can top svt even if i don’t stan i know svt is the most powerful and smartest, not saying other groups aren’t but svt has got something much more
9:19 wait ... It looks like the door with the sea from the MV 'Home' .. so it was inspired by this ?.. they are so genius 😍.. Also.. I love how kind they are 😍.. they basically did everything .. - support LGBTQ - against racism - for the women's rights - support the women who were in the WW2 as comfort women - donation for the people in need (including the tones of rice that they give) - for animals rights ... Damn there's too much to say ✨. I'm proud to be a carat 💎.
As an ARMY, I would say that evn SVT deserves global recognition. They work hard, they are always in sync, love and respect each other and now watching this video I can say that they are also well educated and intelligent. I respect that. They should be known worldwide. 😊

Yeah as someone who is also a halfer or hapa it's hard because you don't really fit in with either group.
I really wait for the day where we have a Male black kpop idol in a group
@oof it's just people have huge stereotypes with race, especially when it comes to mixing them. People think all mixed kids are attractive, but when some don't meet those standards they are denounced to something of a human mutt.

As a biracial, listening to tiny Hansol talking about being a halfer literally brought tears to my eyes and made so emotional. He's so mature at such a young age it makes me feel so proud of him.

EDIT:
Jun's single Crow was produced by a gay couple from Malaysia and Crow is the very first song they had ever produced.
The crow also has the courage to fly for what he wants."
The background story and the message about prejudice hits even deeper.
Remember the interview when Jun was asked what he thinks about people calling him weird. Jun answered with a slightly sad smile: "Very person is different and I'm perfectly normal."
A beautiful soul, indeed 💖

honestly the8 is great, he tries really hard and he always stays true to himself and expresses himself how he wants. It's how I want to be
2:43 about what Wonwoo says, I really think about a lot.
I love how you both see Jeonghan for who he is! The reason he likes to prank people probably is to see how they react and behave in the first place.
@@engelien992
Jeonghan said he is really shy around other people and if you watch 17tv he really quiet and just in the corner observing. He said he only pranks and tease people he is at ease or close with so feel lucky when he does to you. He also knows his jokes can't be accepted easily by anybody so he is thankful for the members humor him and if you observe the members he always pranks are the ones that receive his pranks well. Dino nugu aegi stopped because Dino said he doesn't like it and Jeonghan respected his feelings yet also the first member that treated Dino like an adult so you see they became more close now than before.Dino said Jeonghan is the most hyung to him
Yeeees jeonghan is so so smart. I think his family is very cultured. Same with vernon he talks like a man.
I just want to add the fact that Wonwoo has given multiple personal donations to that cat shelter you mentioned at 6:09, and regularly volunteers at that cat shelter. The shelter specifically thanked him because he often visit and helps out, cleaning and taking care of the lil cats... he was actually the reason SVT had that session with those cats~ because he got them involved in it. He's very big on helping and caring about cats because he sees many being neglected or abandoned by their owners and left as strays. He feeds strays near their dorms often and calls them his friends~ He's such a cute goodhearted boy who cares about animal rights ;-;
Anyway thank you so much for this video!
Svt musics are bop, like thanks, clap, oh my, don't wanna cry, home, etc.
I actually was one of these people too 😂 I feel bad now lol. I didn’t really like their music (tho I really like their recent ones now like “HIT”) so I never paid attention to them and I really regret it.
Ps. Sorry if my English is bad. 😭
AHHHHH URI BOO. Haha. I love how Seungkwan went as far as to notice those boys again at an ?award show? and thank them.
what hansol said about happiness just changed my whole perspective on it. thinking of the happiness you have as a small quantity then you will get greedy and never be satisfied with your life leading to mental health issues. wow he just changed my mindset 🤯 i’m thankful he said that since i’ve been dealing with mental health problems
@nia
I know i am late but are you okay now? I hope you are doing great ☺️💜
I get to know Seventeen just right after my 20th birthday.
As an lgbt carat this makes my heart v v warm
Maya Budhram I agree
I'M ALSO LGBT!!!! 😄😄WELCOME FELLOW LGBT CARAT. I'm really glad to meet somebody else. 😄
Makayla Hunter So am I :))
vernon talking abt racism made me cry. he’s my bias and it definitely reminded me of somi. they are both mixed, extremely beautiful and talented ppl, and went through bullying. it makes me sad on how far behind korea is culture wise. my love to all of seventeen and especially to vernon! i love you 🥰
edit: vernon is making me tear up again bless him so much.
edit again: BLESS ALL OF SEVENTEEN WE NEED MORE IDOLS LIKE THIS
edit again: YALL RLY HAVE THE AUDACITY TO MAKE ME CRY LIKE THIS AT ONE IN THE MORNING HUH
i live for jeonghan breaking gender roles. TBH HE ROCKED HARLEY QUINN AND THAT COSPLAY WAS AMAZING.
Ikr😍
How can you say such false information? He talked about his father in a variety show, saying that he proudly supports his son to his customers
Im sure he has respect for men too 🤣🤣
@@savannahgunter5353 Exactly🤣 I think he just acknowledges the hardship that woman suffers more.
I’m from Taiwan and Chinese blood related ppl hates Japanese for the Nanjing Massacre, and some old soldiers that fought in the Chinese civil war hates China, and a lot ppl hate the KMT government because of 228 incident
seeing ppl fighting over dark history incidents is painful, but they are still in pain too, i feel for them.
Raphael Jen I see. also japan and china has difficult relationship too. we should respect each other and listen to people’s pain.
This para was so cute , can we be friends
I relate to him too....
Thus, mutual respect is extremely important.
i knew they were my babies i knew it from the start like i said, "those are my babies"
same
yo i literally cried when i saw that hoshi was wearing a “black lives matter” t-shirt
that meant sooo much to me seriously
thx hosh love yo lots😚
adds up:
"When a time like that comes (depressed thoughts), i just let it be.
But carats are a whole other level)
Carats seem like a lovely modern family breaking "society rules" and I love that.
Count me in from today! This 'Venom' guy seems so lovely and caring he might become my bias
I'm feeling the same as you right now... I'm an ARMY n a CARAT from this moment on...
I'M LAUGHING. "THIS 'VENOM' GUY". WELCOME TO THE CARATS MY FRIEND.
SLIP INTO THE DIAMOND LIFE and welcom new carat
a lot of seventeen fans are girl group stans we’re called svt x gg 😊 it’s known that seventeen are the only bg that most gg stans like around their gg idols since they’re so respectful when covering gg dances and are gentlemen 🥰 you can just tell how comfortable women are around them
Its "Vernon" po HAHAHA
Keep up the good work
Alex S You can do it!
Fighting!
same I'm 165cm and 45kg my goal is 50kg
idk if you included, but there's the video where mingyu introduces bongbong to buzmu & he explains that they're genderless but also that bongbong "deserves love from both sexes"
And these are the things we see on camera, imagine how much more they do off camera
This is my favorite comment
true!!
" some seventeen members do volunteer work for abandoned cats " YAAASS COUNT ME IIIINNNN FROM NOW OOONNN
Seventeen really is THAT group
I feel comforted by them cuz i never told my parents that I’m bi and I don’t feel they will support, So seeing all these idols makes me happy and proud to be bi
I feel you!
Seventeen is such a humble group i am proud of being a fan but mostly proud of minghao he is such a kind hearted man he is very mature and aware of the world surrounding him i admire him very much
I remember seungkwan on hello counselor saying, "You shouldn't think that washing the dishes is your mother's job," or something along those lines.
Tears where...I don’t see any tears
same, except i think it's because my tears are covering my eyes soo.....
I can't see anything, that's why
I love you Seventeen ❤️ and thank you for all that you do for us
I hope you feel better, nobody deserves to go thru that!
I love seungkwan omygourd he's so emotional and soft but he doesn't like showing it but diwhdh
Vernon Fighting!
maybe he was looked up not looked down. but still called racism😩
Vernon went on a show called Happy Together and talked a bit about his problems he faced being mixed. Here is the full ep if you want to watch for yourself ruclips.net/video/NQ7fk_2Eob4/видео.html
Please support them
Seventeen really said ✨Unproblematic woke talented visual kings✨
wonwoo is pure wisdom I swear
wowwwwww. i'm a 28 year old lesbian who works at a software company, and i searched different kpop group interviews out of bored curiosity of what each group is about. i clicked this video with, honestly, a little bit of skepticism, but wow i was amazed. this is so heartwarming and hopeful, i'm sincerely a fan of this group now. thanks for making this.
bro my son wonwoo being a woke man i love
seventeen is so underrated and I hope they get more recognition for their works.
Seventeen is very popular actually...
감사합니다 세븐틴. 사랑해요 🧡🧡
nobody is perfect, but seventeen is the closest thing to it ♡
i’m literally so proud of them, like y’know most artist/bands don’t really go out their way to promote anti-racism, feminism, lgbtq+, etc, but they literally go all out even though korea is conservative. as an asian american person as well as a fellow activist towards anti-racism, feminism, lgbtq+, etc (literally everything seventeen has publicly supported), it makes me extremely happy to know that i’ve picked the right group (my ult group ofc)
it makes me really happy that groups like seventeen, monsta x and bts are so open about these topics and show their support through their music. kinda makes you feel less alone. idk guys im just emotional
i usually stay away from boy groups bc of how infamously problematic and cocky some can be, but i might give seventeen a shot 😶
While watching and reading comments in this video, i suddenly said,
*“i'm so proud that i joined this Fandom”*
If I already wanted to stan svt, this video made me appreciate them even more, so I'm going to become a carat very soon😭💕
aaaaaa yayyy🥺
That video of baby Vernon makes me want to cry 😢
Edit: oh my gawd I have over three hundred likes....thank you!!!
These are the reasons to stan seventeen........I MIGHT END UP CRYING..........
(It doesn't help that I'm pansexual and a trans male that's in high school)
I just support Super junior for about 8 years. And I always said that I will never support other group, but that change the first time that I saw Seventeen and all their hard work to became idols. I won't regret, this video and all that they do makes me feel proud. Seventeen has a lot of talent and a huge heart too. They are just perfect
Dude I am exactly the same as you! I was solely a SUJU stan and then I found SVT and suddenly I became a 2 group stan.
you are same as me, I've been suju fan since 2009 and I tried to ignore new boy group. But everything started recently when suju collect their sons (heechul~jun yesung~the8) on IG. Now I'm both elf and carat, I loved myself for supporting this amazing groups.
Hi I'm elf too
Alternate title: svt being cultured men.
The mask Scoups wore with the saying 'war is money. freedom is strength. Ignorance is slavery' Reminds me of the slogans in 1984 novel that says 'War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength'. It just reminds me of this cause that novel was in our syllabus last year😆
I'm not a CARAT but this video popped out in my recommendation and I don't regret watching this instead I'm PROUD of them 👏👏👏 good job and keep going
SEVENTEEN FIGHTING !!!
- support LGBTQ
- against racism
- for the women's rights
- support the women who were in the WW2 as comfort women
- donation for the people in need (including the tones of rice that they give)
- for animals rights
... Damn there's too much to say ✨.

I see it! Interesting because that was like two three years ago
@@seraphywang4638 yes 😊
As an ARMY, I would say that evn SVT deserves global recognition. They work hard, they are always in sync, love and respect each other and now watching this video I can say that they are also well educated and intelligent. I respect that. They should be known worldwide. 😊
