Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

People wish that this is where BCS should end. I don't think that's a good idea because that makes it seem like it was all just leading up to this moment, takes away the importance of Saul's independent character and makes it about Walt. Obviously the story will end at the black and white flashfowards but the present timeline's ending should be completely unpredictable, surprising and perfect. Knowing Vince and Peter, they will deliver perfection. Can't wait.

I don’t think it makes it more about Walter over Saul but I think the main point of having BCS end here would be to make the two shows come full circle and being that Walter was the main character of Breaking Bad well, shouldn’t it just a no brainer to put a cameo in there for him somewhere at least? I still think BCS should have it’s own separate ending from this though as well

It's crazy how one man could easily topple everything: Gus's drug empire, Saul's business, Jesse's life, Mike's life, the Salamancas, and Hank's life. All just because of his pride and ego.
I'm just going to try and address this quickly since people keep on misconstruing my comment lol. I never said I hated Walt. I only meant that it's fascinating how he outsmarted the cartel, considering he was one man and new to the game. As for the pride and ego part, I just took that from Mike who stated "You, and your pride and your ego! You just had to be the man! If you'd known your place, we'd all be fine right now!"
Walter was caught up in the thrill/adrenaline rush it gave him that it caused certain mistakes to happen like Hank and Mike's death as well as losing his family.

His background as a con artist was a part of his character from the start, meanwhile Walt's a novice at lawbreaking. His, "disguise" didn't fool him for a second and it's probably how Goodman pegged him for someone who'd need to make heavy use of his services.

Saul is all that is left after Jimmy lost everything and is a criminal lawyer using almost illegal and full on illegal tactics to win his cases. Jimmy is still there as you can see throughout Breaking bad like when he pleads for his life when at gun point by Jesse where he says he didn’t want any of this, but he is mostly saul with glimpses of Jimmy.
