The whole narrative that men take longer to "mature" than women needs to stop. If anything the opposite most of the time is true, because on a societal level women are often protected from accountability whereas men are forced to own up to shortcomings right off the bat, from as young as teen years. The reason it takes longer for a man to "get himself together" is because it is difficult to acquire the things that are required of him. It takes years to gain enough experience to earn a high salary or scale successful business. It takes years to afford a home in this economy. Financial stability is HARD to get. Women seem to forget that.
Some women forget that but most understand since they also are in the economy working themselves up as well. Why I dont fully agree with getting yourself together being different than maturity because they are closely related. Someone who is mature will take less time to get themselves together. Btw you dont need a home to get married. Thats the issue with men these days.. alot of them put these unnecessary expectations on themselves and use it as an excuse to delay marriage.
