Usually movies include a “bad guy“ who must be defeated. There is no bad guy in this movie.* This is just a mismatched group of people, every one of them doing the best that he or she can, and every one learning from the others. I love it. *[SPOILER: Yes, I know that there is an issue with infidelity. But the cheater isn’t bad, just weak. And he or she does the right thing in the end.]
What's funny is that "Jules" was not happy about having the intern in her home, which is hearkening back to when she played the "intern role" in The Devil Wears Prada...Miranda did not like the fact that the assistant, played by Anne Hathaway, was in her home, and insisted that she drop off the book and leave immediately.
Kind of a head scratcher this movie. They build the whole movie up for De Niro to become the CEO... former VP, lots of valuable insight, fatherly figure to the main character, lifts up his team members, etc. And instead the ending is, let's forgive the cheating husband and go do some yoga together. Baffling. Anne Hathaway deserves better.
sorry, but I never felt that they built up Ben to ever be the CEO... There wasn't a shade of that in any of the scenes.. rather, it was evident that he is trying to "give the one last advice" and get into his retirement without any regrets. i would love to know your perspective of who/when you felt that they were posing Ben up to. be the CEO in the story arch?
Love how Ben stands up when she walks in. Classy character
Yes don't think people even know about this etiquette rule anymore.
This movie should teach everyone it’s never too late in life to have compassion and respect and act like a gentleman
this movie has such calm and composure ...who knew a pandemic would revive it again!

Other than the obvious feminist idiocy, this was a great movie, and very heartwarming.
