Rousseau and I've always hated those mouthpieces. Now I have a V16 and hate it.

I mainly play a v16s+ but am curious about the Rousseau. Could you tell us how the blowing and tuning of the 2 compare? I'm hoping they are similar so as to be an easy transition for someone coming from a Meyer type piece

They are all so different. The Rico was a large opening, so that makes it different in character then the Vandoren. I am not sure, but isn´t the Rousseau a classic piece? How did you feel?

Yeah, they are! I wish I had them at the same tip opening, because yeah, you're correct!
Even though most Rousseau pieces are classical, this one was a jazz piece. It has a short wedge baffle up front.
For me, that Vandoren was maybe my favorite, but as you say, they're SO different that it's more of a personal preference thing.
Thanks as always for the feedback Bob!

How do you compare the Select Jazz among those mouthpieces? I used to play the A7 S+ a year ago, but now I have been playing on the Select D6M for 2 months. Really miss the focus, core, medium bright sound from the Vandoren S+ line.
Can you play Smooth/Funky on the Select Jazz? I'm curious because of its medium chamber and quite low baffle.

I think it's quite different, but I like it. It doesn't have the zip of a Vandoren, but it's very dark and pretty.
That being said, I think for the right player/reed/etc, you could definitely funk it up a bit and sound great on it. But everyone is different, so it's hard to be sure!

What reed did you used on the Vandoren, please? (was my favorite)

I believe it was a LaVoz medium. Thanks!

@@schmittmusicsaxophoneshop4451 What do you think about the reed Vandoren v16 2,5? I think they feel and sound very similar to the La voz medium in my playing...
