Christian St Marseille I ordered several of the 6M facing - found they to be VERy consistent. Even the Marble Limited edition 6M felt nearly identical (review on my channel). They are milled by robots, they seem Iike good robots. Agree with Paul, the 6M felt great.
I just started the saxophone 3 weeks ago, im using a yamaha 4c with 1.5 rico's. My Yamaha YAS-280 came with a D6M select jazz alto mouth piece as a deal they had, Ive yet to try it tho. How will the rico 1.5's play on this? I was told by the store to use the 4c for a while as I am a beginer.
If think you’d put a softer one with 7 or 8. And if you’d ever done something similar you’d say what you think in terms of differences between hard reed and small tip vs Soft reed and large tip opening?
By comparing all 4 mouthpieces he played on, this is how I would personally comment First thing we have to understand is this guy's natural sound- often times, the stiffness or your tone can come from how you set your ambatuer, whether it be too tight or too loose (which is definitely possible). He has a naturally loose ambatuer, meaning it isn't difficult for him to get a deep and warm jazz sound out of any mouthpiece (versus people like me with a torqued jaw, who always gets a bright and frigid sound). The 5m in my opinion offers the least resistance in this entire comparison- with a slightly softer material and wider tip opening, the 5m offers the most control up and down the alto saxophone. One of the primary flaws lies in how you set your ambatuer- By having too tight of a clamp on the reed, you'll be achieving more of a big band/classic swing sound, which is notably more bright than the solo sound that he has playing on the 5m. The 6m and 7m are the median intervals between the 5 and the 8, obviously. But what does that mean? Well, go ahead and try listening to the first 10 second test of the 5m test at 0:15 , and then listen to the first 10 seconds at 1:10 . Hear how the 7m happens to sound a little more stuffy and tight, but trades that off for a darker sound. Frankly, the darker sound is barely noticeable unless you have a naturally tight ambatuer. With the 8m, tip opening and material make massive difference. Listening to the first 3 notes between his playing test on the 5m and 8m make it even more clear. In person and in most concert halls, soloing on an 8m is going to have more of a wah reverberation, vs the 5m's dwee reverb. What I mean by this is the comparison in the returning sound of the high resistance when exiting the saxophone, but understanding it is more playing experience than anything else. Hope this kinda helped! I only have 6 years experience on sax so any of this could be horrifically wrong.
My ears are telling me either the 8m or the 5m as long as I can modify the 8m with an aftermarket insertable baffle then what would be so bad about the 8m... Someone tell me if the longer facing on the 8m makes it better sounding and also can you tell me was the 8m harder to play on ...assuming that you go down a strength in the reed
I absolutely love your sound
5m hands down. To my ears has more clarity and better tonal response than the other mouthpieces.

Teşekkürler.
The 5m sounds so amazing.. what's the ligature that your using?
And have you tried the new V16 5 s+ ?
Hi, would love to hear your comments on these, especially the 6M.
The 6M is my personal favorite and the one I like to play on of the four. They are well made but you need to try a few as they will vary.

Damn the 5m... So clear...
But i do want some meat on the note, i don't want mush...
You aren't using the same reed for all the pieces are you?

I see that the meyer 6m they do it anymore is this good any kind music and people that are a little advanced playing
I bought a D'Addario 5 mouthpiece. In fact, they are larger than stated, 5 size is 6 size, or 6*!!!
How does the 6m compare to the meyer 6m in your opinion
I think I’m purchasing the 6m. Because of this video, I now know what I want.
So happy to hear that. I hope you enjoy it.
Hi.. I liked the 6m more!.. Pls, Could you tell me what is the model of the Selmer alto sax you used on the video ?
Pedro David Rodrigues how do you think of tenor D6M?
Singing and Saxophone Lesson Listen to Chad LB old videos before Syos

what kind of reeds are you using?
I was using D'Addario 3M Filed and unfixed
Man, 3M with the 8? Isn’t it too hard?
