Maybe the pressure in piggyback dropped because you screwed the pump in … that happen also with öhlins …. There is so little air in the progressive chamber that when you screw on pump it drops 30 psi
This happens will all shocks and forks. The hose of the pump gets pressurized, and the smaller the volume of the air chamber, the more pressure will decrease. You can actually avoid this by not screwing on the pump all the way, just so much that it is air tight, but not yet activating the valve itself. Then you can pump up the hose to about the pressure you expect to see, and only then screw on the pump fully to activate the valve and equalize the pressure.
I love when people share cheap stuff in case something goes wrong but honnestly i think that the Mazzorchi Bomber CR coil shock should be better and similar price. Really a good video ! I loved the one your compare the Fox X2 pre 2024 and the 2024 one .. really impressive
The Marzocchi Bomber shock is not compatible with the Kenevo. They actually shipped the Kenevo with it I think in the 2020 Comp model, but apparently it broke too often so they replaced it with an air shock for 2021. Fox also has made a dedicated list of compatible coil shocks for bikes with long yokes/struts (can't link it here because of spam detection). They basically limit the yoke length to 72mm for a shock with 60-65mm stroke. And the Kenevo has a ~155mm yoke.
I know that Suntour and Dvo uses the same manufacturer. Both great shocks. IMO DNM is the best bang for your buck, then problem is that my newer bike doesn't have the right size.
That is very good timing. I just broke my DVO Topaz T3 Air for the second (third) time due to wear on the inner damper shaft because of that stupid long yoke and the side load stress it causes and am now looking for not too expensive options to replace it with. And a 14mm steel shaft sounds pretty promising.
No gurentee it will not break, but this Suntour is the best match the Kenevo’s had, of the 10 plus shocks that have been on the bike. The DVO Jade x travel reducer fits clearly on the Suntour. It’s the same as Jade, but steel shaft
@@OtterMTBtech It seems to be a moot point anyway, I can't seem to find the shock anywhere in Europe, even on the Suntour page it's not listed anymore. Despite that the shock was released just a couple of years ago (2021 I think?).
I'm not sure why you pumped up the IFP to 300 and expected it to run well. Especially given moments before you stated it was supposed to come pumped to 180 ish!?
Hi, i hope you can help me again: I weight 75kg and several online spring calculator suggest somewhere from 300 to 350 lbs. I slapped on a sprindex 290 - 320 (23% Sag) and a 340-370 lbs (18% Sag) and i can push the rubber bumper all the way to the bottom while hard bouncing in the parking lot. I can NOT do a bunny hop! So its not that high.
@OtterMTBtech Pipedream Full Moxie After making an experiment and putting my 15kg lighter wife on it and the current 340-370 lbs would be right on the money. So I guess I need to try a spring for a 90kg rider. That will be the 400-440 lbs 🤯
Looks like single pivot. A progressive spring would be better. Also you can give spring 2 full pre loads to o make it stiffer off the top, I sometimes give it more spins.
Hey Otter. Can you please measure outer diameter in mm of that 600lbs fox spring that you fitted onto voro. I have scott ransom eride 920, and tried 550lbs rockshocks spring with RSSDU coil, and it doesnt fit on linkage, cant even put the bolt in. Still having hopes to have a budget coil shock on my bike. No info at all of springs outer diameters on internet 😢
The shock sits upside down stanchion up top, no way it doesn’t fit. Coils are narrow RockShox has the largest Outter diameter. Dvo cane creek sun tour have same inner spacing. I’ll measure tomorrow with one of those
Did you play around with the ifp pressure? What are you experiencing? I just got mine and rode it yesterday for the first time. So far I am very pleased but I came from a hardtail, so no idea how it should feel like 😅 Yesterday I pumped it to 180 psi, but probably drop a lot during disconnecting. During ridding, I bottomed it out on some trails 🤯 today I pumped it up to 200 psi and made sure it stays there ( in reality I pumped it to 250 and noticed it loses 50 psi during disconnect ) and I cranked the srpingdex from 290 to 300
Dude, thanks for the review. Not much infos about the shock on the web. What are your settings? I believe you are using a 600 spring. Whats your weight and shock settings? Cheers
Thanks, so 180psi ish in piggy. Do you remeber, compression and rebound settings? Im the same weight ordered the shock. They even have a first order discount. Dirt cheap. Cheers
Who doesn't like to have an oversized steel shaft... I'm about to bin my RST stich air fork I wanted the coil version to match my rear coil but per reviews it's clunky asf, will look into other brands I like to have weird stuff with unavailable service parts 😂
400 for a shock is really expensive. I don't get how bike component manufacturers think these are fair prices. The components are SO simple. If I had a reasonable workshop I could make one myself. I stick to second hand parts and service where needed.. my 26 inch 2006 S-Works Enduro frame is still going strong with modern components and my Fox Talas 36 still lives to this day, as does my DHX air 5.0.
@@OtterMTBtech Great thanks!...of course I realized this after just getting done watching your Knevo vs Levo video in realizing which bike you were currently using 🤦.. but really appreciate the fast reply 🙏 Your videos are great!
HBO is the best adjustment ever. This shock rides good bottom line. DVO designed the structure Sun Tour license it. To get good HBO only EXT has it and it’s $1,000. Rockshox ones is not as good
@@OtterMTBtech And we can't get the Suntour in Europe so i might go for the DVO. Kinda struggling with air shocks and i'm about the same weight as you and on an 25kg ebike
What bike, that is common for Europe. Took 2 weeks to get Toyota wiper blades, and 5 days for code brake pads. Supply chains there are not consumer friendly like USA
So they’re made under the same roof. DVO essentially rents the Sun tours machines to cast the shocks, since the machine’s cost millions of dollars each. Could be wrong here, I assume they as in DvO license Suntour the shock body of like the Jade, Suntour does her own magic inside of it and sells from there. Super disappointing that DVO does not make a steel stanchion Jade or I would have one. If you look at a 1999 Toyota Camry and a 1999 Lexus ES 300 they’re the same exact body the Lexus just has more features and is a better car Lexus would be the the DVO
Hi Michael, glad to hear you love the DVO product, we appreciate you! We license a lot of our suspension technology to SR Suntour and they sometimes source different parts to achieve various price levels. We are assembled in different factories, DVO has their own program.

Suntour manufactures the parts for DVO. They have their Taiwan office inside the Suntour factory
We are actually two separate assembly operations, we just share/license some of our technology to SR Suntour.

It says 180-300 on the shock. More IFP pressure is suppose to help in not getting air in oil.
Yeah OK, but I'd expect poor performance putting any shock setting to it's Max. Compression, rebound etc.

Ya, softer pressure more small bumps
