My parents were so happy when I changed my affiliation from independent to a dem. They were sad Tuesday when I went back to independents.
They understood my reasons. Since the debate Dems has shown me the worst of themselves.
If Dems had gathered behind Joe Biden. Or switching candidates. The way Congress Dems stood behind Hakeem Jeffries during speaker selections.
Instead I see a party in flux. Some calling for Biden to step down. Some cheering him on. Others telling Biden to step down. I found myself entering the fray. I was giving my comments.
Then I heard about Project 2025. Everything changed. That combined with trump’s total immunity. Made me stop and see the gravity of the issue.
How is it that The Heritage Foundation is behind this project. The same people that are behind the justices that gave trump his immunity.

I think his policies were disastrous and not based on data based observations at all. We have 4+ decades that show cutting taxes on the wealthy while increasing government expenditures is a clear cut way to rush an inflation catastrophe and cause a recession/depression. Trump did exactly that. I think loading the supreme court with people who say one thing and do another will be catastrophic as they go about dismantling decisions that are supported by 65-80% of Americans based on recent Yougov polling. I think Trump pulling out of the climate accords and snubbing world leaders constantly will have far reaching impacts on the US's ability to not only be a world leader but project power which is our main tool in preventing terrorist attacks on US soil. I think Biden has done a heck of a job slowing and in some cases stopping the harm done to our economy that was done under Trump, and in record time. We had the fastest economic recovery after covid out of any country. I think my investments have turned around so sharply since Trump left office that it has completely negated all losses I felt under Covid.
What about any of that is hate? That is me looking at verifiable data like the Dow Jones index over time, the 10 year bond yield over time, dozens of studies on the impact of trickle down economics, and the work of the sixteen Nobel prize winning economists that have endorsed Joe Biden.
I'm sorry I'm not falling for propaganda that talks about how gas was $1.79 a gallon under Trump, because I understand WHY it was $1.79 under trump. Gasoline has a federally mandated expiration date, and it is more profitable for a gas station to sell it at a loss before it expires, because if it expires they have to pay a company to come pump out their holding tank, and dispose of the expired fuel. Better to make $1.79 per gallon that costed you $3.50 than to lose $2/gallon with zero revenue to offset. Every argument for why Trump was better that avoids emotion falls flat within a few minutes of actual research from peer reviewed works (not youtubers pedaling supplements with lead in them).

People need to be seeing more comparisons and possibilities/probabilities of either candidate. We have a very unique moment in time where two people who have been president are going head to head. If Biden cared about us he would step down and let someone younger run.
Someone younger doesn't have the institutional knowledge of the entire government that Biden has. Someone younger doesn't know how to dodge the blocks Republicans keep laying down. Someone younger would not have gotten the various infrastructure laws passed that have incenticized over $500b in private sector construction investment that's brought the biggest manufacturing boom in decades. We aren't electing Biden to make speeches, we're electing him to get stuff done.

Newsweek is a pretty bad source. I can't find any recording or mention of that quote that gives full context. It's just a snippet on right wing biased news sites. The full quote could be "Trump thinks black people are stupid, he thinks that their parents can't read or write." Without context that quote means nothing. You might want to look into the countless times Trump used the N-word in normal casual conversation.
