    This was a great eclectic list. I really need to listen to Mark Knopfler again and the Empire of the Sun- i didnt know they released an album this year. Great year for music!

    I'd agree that Thee Sacred Souls probably have the best *sounding* album of the year. My concern was only that it might have been *too* faithful to the original inspirations. Not sure what was added. It's probably a great intro to the sound, but I kept wondering to myself 'this is great, but why am I not listening to the original Philly soul artists?' Reminded me of the "Meet the Smithereens" album (a great band in their own right), which was a very faithful 'tribute' to "Meet the Beatles".

      Ha! That’s an interesting thought. I do t generally keep records I don’t like, but I certainly have some just to complete a discography. That could be an interesting video idea for the new year. Thanks for the idea!
