Such an awesome mod, no idea how they can do it for free...?!? Great review Mike as always, look forwards to take it for a spin, my favourite era of F1 car shapes and racing by miles!
I agree, Have been driving these cars for some time. The standard car set have identucal physics yet the sounds and cockpits make them feel unique. HOWEVER somebody created a mod that gave them Historically Accurate performance. I have used it, amazing. I ran a career story by moving up the grid.
@@kolysion164 Damn idiot. i can decrypt every package in the planet and i can say without any problem that this car is not what you're talking about. Best thing ever happened for me too in Sim Racing. Just awesome! If you get sick in VR by the default settings because its shaking turn down the Head Physics in the option menu to 30 to stabilise. Pure and raw fun! Thanks to all who made this possible. Love
I am terrible at F1 and Indy cars, till I found this mod. Even with the assists off, I can haul with this car. Wish they would make a 2021 mod like this one.
Im rockin the shit out of these cars for a month now. I actually beat Nigel Mansells in race estoril lap time of 1.18.179 by 1.5 seconds in a Benetton and Senna's 1991 in race Suzuka lap time of 1.41.532 in the same car by two tenths. I setup the cars exactly like they would be in the race. Almost full tanks of gas and soft not quali tyres. The key is definitely a lot of practice and im having so much fun but also rage a lot. Just wish it could be a full grid. The most important thing is throttle control and how you downshift into a corner. As you said RN is definitely a great time to be a Sim racer. Btw im driving these cars on a old 1988 season layout tracks.
Agree this is one of the most outstanding F1 mods. One year ago I added a Historically Accurate performance mod and started a career story. It was amazing. BTW you can always donate to these modders :)
Nice preview, Mike. I downloaded these cars last night, but didn't have the time to check them out. I've got the AMS versions as well, which I'm hoping are as good as the rF2 versions - AMS's custom championship mode would be very enticing with these cars.
Tom Lebeuf would be cool but also kinda not realistic to run a league with this cars because there are still some teams missing. Like ligier, modena, footwork...
Yeah I am looking for a league too. Best mod ever..!!! I loved that era and this mod is amazing!! Maybe if we can find some people we can start some races on our own!?!?
Mike like you I love this mod. The 92 season for me captures so much of F1 teams and driver history. Now that there is a HE (Historic Addition) mod available with accurate car performance I am running a "1992 career" within this mod. Starting with a pay driver scenario in a mid pack team with a one race deal. Setting some success criteria to keep that drive of get better drives. The rest of the story will be revealed in due course.
@@SimRacing604 its was done outside of ASR by Frenky. It works very well. The cars go from Andrea Moda which drives like a pig all the way up. Williams #1, McLaren #2, Benetton #3 etc. Its called 1.865 I think. If you cant find it I can upload and link it.

Couldn't agree more Mike, these cars feel amazing, I have one question though, what AI settings were you running for this race? I found it very hard to stay competitive with the AI, but maybe that was the track I was running.

rF2's McLaren MP4/13 blows these arcade cars out of the water. There are many F1 cars better than these. It is so sad when a well know RUclips poster gets his facts so horribly wrong.
blotmaster1 you’re an ass. It’s no wonder you’re stuck at 55 subscribers. One thing all of the successful SimTubers have in common is that they’re positive and supportive of our community. I hope things in your life get better and your attitude improves, otherwise I’m afraid you have nothing to contribute to the sim racing community
@@SimRacing604 Well, the way he expresses his criticism may be questionable but I have to agree. These cars are far from realistic. I always suspect to have unintentionally activated driving aids just to find out that I've no aids activated. On corner exit it's really hard to spin the car no matter how early you give full throttle. It's really like an arcade racing game to me. Or do I have something wrong in my settings?
@@SimRacing604 He's got a point. RUclips posters like you are why the sim racing community gets their shit wrong. You cant even spin ASR mods out of any corner at all. How does this compare to the GOAT of F1 sims, rFactor F1 1991 HE?
I wish ASR didn't have such a bias against Assetto Corsa
They did release the 1991 cars in assetto corsa. Actually curious on how the jorsan behaves compared to VFR
