Will try this, but I wouldn't give Ye Olde Oak hotdogs to my kids. I'd just leave it out if I couldn't find better.
Ye Olde Oak Hot Dogs Ingredients: 74% Chicken (Mechanically Separated), Water, Rice Flour, Beef Collagen Casing, Salt, 3.4% Chicken Skin, Smoke Flavour, Stabiliser (Triphosphates), Herbs, Thickener (Guar Gum), Preservative (Sodium Nitrite), Spice Extracts, Brine: Water, Smoke Flavour.
The old axiom "you never want to know how the sausage gets made" is really true of the Ye Olde Oak hot dogs. I mean you never want to see what goes into a hot dog, but they are the worst hot dogs I've ever tasted. But yeah It's a nice midweek recipe if you can find another brand of dog to go in it, or as you say, without anything.
Also hasn't the bean liquid got a natural thickner in it?
