I got to work with her towards the end of her life. She came to the recording studio I worked at. I used to meet and interact with a lot of celebrities and rock stars, but she went down in my history book as being the all-time class act, of all of them.. Bobby was a mess, but Whitney was so beautiful, inside and out. Anyway, the whole point of this is to say, of everyone who ever came through our studio (that I heard while recording) she was a true one-take wonder. She was so amazing that she cut all of her tracks with one take, and practically zero punch-ins or edits. Absolutely talented vocalist. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
I was driving to work (I was working a later shift ) when I heard Whitney was gone. I pulled over and wept. I called off work. Then called my Mama and cried so much…I have never in my life cried over a celebrity passing until then…and I have never done so since. Whitney was a huge influence in my life, her music touched me deeply. There’s not a single song I don’t know of hers..she was the greatest. Her singing live is out of this universe…she was nearing the end of her vocal prime at this time. People need to understand that Whitney was not a pop singer she was not a RnB singer…she was first and foremost a gospel singer….hence her conviction when singing. Live performances will show how much gospel she had while singing.
This is one of my favorite recordings of a live Whitney Houston performance. She's sitting on a stool in this performance, yet she hit vocal heights that would leave even the world's finest vocalis in awe. It's been said before, but I'll repeat it, the subdued audience in this video didn't appreciate or recognize the greatness before them, and their polite, understated applause clearly indicates that they didn't deserve this outstanding performance. Wonderful, heartfelt reaction...thank you.
Those of a certain age had Aretha, and thought it doesn't get better, then Whitney came along and surprised the world with that voice. Tragic ending way too soon, terribly sad, and it broke her daughter making this crazy bad!
I too remember the day Whitney died. My kids had to wait for me to get off work and sit me down to break the news to me because they knew I would be crushed. I was absolutely heart broken. This is one of my favorite performances of hers. R.I.P Whitney.
Il y a pas une journée sans que j’écoute Whitney houston je regretterai toute ma vie de ne pas l’avoir vu chanter en live elle a beaucoup fait évoluer le monde en général surtout au niveau du racisme c’est la reine elle me manque tellement
To this day I've never heard anyone sing our National Anthem better than Whitney did before the N.Y. Giants vs. Buffalo Bills Superbowl game. It was a time during the first Iraq War. It was the most powerful, emotional, proud rendition imaginable. I will always remember her for the silence she created in a bar full of men and women, which was then followed by a roar of pride and commirade
Hey girl….as I know you love a story….Babyface brought this song to Whitney a couple years prior to release, but she turned it down…she said her life was in too good a place to do it justice ….a couple years later she was having issues with Bobby, and told Babyface she was ready to sing it ("conviction")….as you stated, this aligned with "Waiting to Exhale"….I so miss Nippy as her music was a huge part of my life as well….as always, great reaction, I knew you would enjoy it, god bless, and keep doing great things!
i watch this video 1 billion times, and always search for someone reactin, so now i'm here and love so much you video Britt ❤ I'm from Brasil 🇧🇷 this sound deserve so much, and this live is GREAT, she put all emotions and... omg
She has a two disk CD back in the day. One was all sad and slow and the other was upbeat. I’d cry to one and use the other one at the gym when I was trying to get in a kick ass workout. Love her!
Whitney was feeling and meaning every single word and sound of this magnificent heartfelt performance. She was going through a lot of pain and thinking about a divorce when doing this performance. Sadly she had a way too big heart, forgave Bobby again and gave him this and many more chances.
Oh Britt, how I love this women too!! If you’ve never seen her perform All the Man I Need for the troops, it is a must!! She shows out and I believe it was at her strongest. I hope you get to check it out! ❤
@@diorrboyyyy …weeeeeeeeeell, since you asked……in addition to the THREE already noted……I like “Greatest Love of All - Live Arista 15th Anniversary ” , “One Moment in Time - Live Grammy 1989”, and maybe my favorite Whitney song "All At Once (Live from the 14th Annual American Music Awards)" - when she was just 23 yrs old…….thanks for asking! 🤣👊🏼
Elvis wanted to duet with Dolly Parton on the song I Will always Love You and his manager called Dolly and said we want 50% of the rights to the song to which she simply replied No. Dolly went on to say later that the moment Whitney Houston sang that song she could have bought Graceland the next day.
Incredible Singer…!!!R.I.P…Hey Britt, I have been watching you for a while, but now I have finally subscribed. I love watching your reaction videos. I think you do a fantastic job and I think you are so sweet in how you are so complementary of so many of these talented artists …in today’s world with so much haters unfortunately …it’s so nice to see someone who always puts a sweet and positive spin on everything… I know it’s gotta be really hard to do a reaction to everything that everybody wants. However, I’ve noticed that you only have one reaction to George Michael. To me George Michael may have been the greatest singer of the 80s and I would really love to see you react to his Careless Whisper song, which is my all-time favorite song, or perhaps react to his song I Can’t Make You Love Me, which is a cover song that he did by Bonnie Raitt. He has so many others, but those are the two I’m gonna recommend to you as of right now. I hope I get a chance to see you react to the ones that I mentioned…continue your good work and I look forward to watching more and more of your reaction videos. Take care, Kelly.
Hi Britt from the UK. Love your reactions, but cant understand how you have been able to miss an outstanding vocalist for so long. I am talking about "The Queen of Covers" Gigi de Lana from the Philippines. Just watch "Through the Fire/Piano in the Dark" to start and you will be hooked. Rated by most of your peers (Peter Barber, The Charismatic Voice, Throga Chanel) as one of the best vocalists in the world.
Seriously not to be disrespectful because I think she was one of the best singers ever, but I remember seeing this as it was broadcasted live (I don't remember what it was from). And I was in awe. But I said to my roommate, "Lookit how sweaty she is! She is pouring her heart out!" He said, "You know she's a crackhead, right?" I thought for a second and said, "Well, I guess that's not just the spirit of the lord coming through." He laughed his ass off. But man, she was a talent that hasn't yet been matched that I know of.
Hello Britt, the very nicest Woman in the Universe, I have two great voices from Germany, Tom's Diner (cover) - AnnenMayKantereit x Giant Rooks. The original was sung by Susan Vega. The video has been viewed 166 million times in 5 years. Here is the link. ruclips.net/video/5r3B7yz6J68/видео.html I would be very happy if you would also react to this video. Thank you in advance. Best wishes from your DJ Mike from Germany.
She meant so much, to so many, a devastating loss. Changed my life as a young woman, giving my voice a little more power by her voice.

I was totally crushed when she passed. 😢🙏 Love her every time I hear her😊
Whitney Houston in her prime is untouchable... case closed.
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
She was already out of her prime during this time.. even though, NO ONE can touch her.
@@DiorD737 i’d say her voice lasted in its total range right until 1996
Whitney is love wit a great talent.
Whitney's rise was from 1985 on. By the time you were born, Whitney was already a worldwide superstar.
Yeah, some would say her best vocals was from 85 to 91. Although amazing moments came after ofcourse

Girl you are so funny the way youre getting into the song.
Actually Britt, Whitney's rise to fame occurred in the mid 1980's to early 1990's.
A legend!
Britt, may I just say you are so Fun To watch .Stay Safe and God Bless!...xx
You should try her and George Michael doing If I Told You That. Also Aretha, Mary J Blige.... so many amazing duets. Worth it.

So whitney houston was so far reaching in her talents.
She's the definition of what a singer is .
The talent is beyond comparison .
Please react to Whitney Houston live in Japan 1991 Saving All My Love For You
You must try, Whitney "Saving all my love for you" live in Japan 1991
Britt, it's just as well I couldn't see it, I was too busy watching you!!😂❤️
I think this is the first and last time she preformed this song
Clive Davis changed Whitney he did a slow burn with her. So sad Whitney
May I suggest, Love me not tomorrow, by The WE 5
You really should listen to Lara Fabian - Adagio from the concert "From Lara with Love"
Um this is about Whitney Iconic Houston not some Laura somebody, Excuse you .
