I have the same setup but with VSRF Catless downpipes. It sounds it less throaty than previous below 3K RPM, but it sounds insane around 4K and up. I’m pretty sure the extra gap is for larger diffusers. I got the burnt tips and they fit nicely with my diffuser.
car sounds great! I have the exact same setup on my f82 comp, valvetronic with stock downpipes. Gonna upgrade to catted downpipes in the future but rn Im getting my brakes done. I have to agree that I also absolutely love this car. But I have to say its a great all around car. I daily my M4 and I think its the perfect daily. An M3 with 4 doors would be more ideal, but I am able to fit 4 people pretty comfortably in the car, Ive taken it on camping trips, cross country roadtrips, and Ive taken it to the track once. The only thing I DONT use my f82 for is off-road/gravel and snow. Otherwise, theres nowhere else I wont drive this thing!!
thanks man really appreciate it? you experiencing any drone or harsh sound between that 3-4k rpm range? and any more thought to downpipes? i was surprised how loud it was already lol
Only when the back seats are down, but that was the case with my Remus exhaust too. Maybe the M4 is a little different acoustically? Definitely doing downpipes; probably ARM or Evolution Racewerks. And yeah it's already pretty loud lol.. dps are going to be insane.
excited to hear what it sounds like! I'd be too worried about breaking noise limits at the track if I got downpipes because it's definitely something i want to do more of! But yeah the drone/harsh sound isn't too bad when I'm alone, but my fiance doesn't like it so im mostly in efficient when she's with me lol 😅 @@AlwaysSummerGarage
haha I hear you brother, my wife is barely tolerant of the valvetronic.. when I add downpipes I'm def gonna have to keep it in efficient. The other day I was at a gas station and when I started my car, I saw the guy behind me spin around real quick with that "wtf was that" look. Gonna be fun with dps 🍻
lol yeah happens all the time. i've been running the gts roar & no old start and love how it sounds starting up. cold start with this thing is just too loud for too long lol
Brooo keep it up with these vids 🔥 & man that valvetronic exhaust sure does spice it up 😮💨! Looking forward to whatever else you got planned for this car
Finally got the exhaust! Had it installed few weeks ago and love the exhaust tone but the flaps rattles during cold start good 1 min; taking the car back to the shop to get it checked next week. Also, if you have an aftermarket diffuser the spacing of the tips can be very tight especially if you have the CF tip. Also, keep in mind you can only adjust it in one side of the exhaust. Lastly, there is a humming constant sound, not sure if I’m imaging or if it is because of one of the valve switch is not plugged in since the setup requires one side of the valve.
nice! glad you like it. luckily the valve rattle is an easy fix. i have an aftermarket diffuser on now and it fits perfectly, but granted i have different, thinner tips. Not sure about the humming sound tbh. perhaps it will go away when you get that valve fixed!
Hey man sick video as always. Top notch quality. Wondering if you considered AA EL midpipes non-res. I was debating your setup you got but also AA EL as well. I hope those fitment issues and such weren’t a quality control thing.
I've only really heard different setups through video to be honest and based on what people were saying about each one. People with the AA EL were saying this sounded better and I just went for it lol
Nicely done! Looking to get the exhaust for my F83 ZCP. Switching from bone stock set up. Wanted to check do you get an ‘gunshots’ at any gear and throttle settings? I’m not a big fan of that.. Watching one video on their website, one F80 had loud pop bangs at higher RPMS.
nice! all burble settings are completely customizable if you get a tuning software, like bootmod3 (BM3) which is what I have. you don’t have to use it to go stage 1 or 2, you can use it just to customize some neat things like burbles and leave everything else stock. up to you, and i highly recommend it, even on bone stock cars. For me, I have all burbles off, which also means definitely no gunshots
@@jonb2437 oh yeah i was talking about the tips. your muffler isn't even? hmm yeah idk how i'd fix that. I never noticed if mine does or not. almost would rather not look any closer lol
i think this exhaust was really made to be paired with a more aggressive diffuser, which are usually beefier and stick out more. i bought the V style from horizon on black friday and the spacing around it is perfect now
How are you getting on with it? Still satisfied? Any complaints bar the 3-4k drone? Is it ‘too loud’ aka obnoxious in your opinion? I’ve been on the fence for a while and had hoped that the elusive elixir would come from driftworks’ 2 in 1 downpipe (but the result was a little lacklustre - although it does make me wonder whether his DP with the right exhaust system is what everyone is waiting for?).
That certainly sounds interesting - there are so many variations to achieving "perfect" sound with s55 that it isn't feasible, for most people, to try them all. Plus, hearing them in video isn't going to be 100% accurate to how it sounds irl. With that, I'm not sure if the set up I have is "perfect" (I haven't even messed with downpipes), but I love it very much and I'm not considering moving away from it at all. To be transparent with you however, I haven't heard too many different s55 exhaust set ups, so take that into consideration into my review of its sound. Achieving the perfect sound might be a never ending journey.
How’s that scraping over bumps now? Mine just started doing this as the coilovers settled. My secondary cats scrape on bumps. I hope it doesn’t get worse when I install my VD exhaust.
@@rickybobby3043 still happens lol, I need to raise the car a bit. it hands lower than a typical exhaust because of the single midpipe which is thicker in diameter. It's not a huge problem though - depends how low you wanna go
Question, I just bought the same exhaust for my F82 will I also need to buy the Electronic valve harness or will it come included ? If it is not included is the harness needed?
congrats! it’s not needed, you can swap the passenger side valve controller from the stock exhaust to it and it will work just like stock. i didn’t even use the valvetronic valve controller
Best video I've seen all week! Loved the ending!
Thank you my man! Appreciate it!
The ending was fire!
Love the documentary movie vibe this video has. Very cool
Absolutely killer video man! Glad you’re enjoying the system and that we got the minor issues figured out!
Thank you! I'm loving it

Loving the development on this channel. The storytelling and cinematography are so good! Plus your M4 looks and sounds amazing! Subbed 👍
thanks so much! it really means a lot!! 😁
We need more F82 content bro! Quality is awesome.
thank you so much! sorry i’m so lazy or there’d be more
loved the video, and props for the edditing you did a great job and for story telling as well

Excellent work well done
Can’t wait to hear it in person tomorrow 💪
It's gonna be a blast!
dope editing style and this exhaust system sounds crazy

Love this sound and exhaust 😍 I know it’s worth it for those who can swing it. One day 🤞🏽
Appreciate the comment! Your titanium exhaust is beautiful
Great video man! Love the direction the channel is going!!
Thank you man!!!
I went with a catted inked custom equal length midpipe and I have no drone and perfect fitment😊
nice! Post some sound clips

thank you, and no it was out of my budget
decided to get one after watching your videos
Love to hear that!
I mean getting a F82 M4 haha. I was hesitating among E Coupe, 540i and M4 F82. @@f82regpaq
Do a cold start vid bro😈🔥
maaan I forgot! lol. I have it off because it was way too loud for my neighbors. I have GTS Roar on w/ cold start off. Maybe in the next one

I just installed mine. It doesn't hang low but from what i noticed it doesn't hang even. The left side sags some. Looks like yours does the same too
sorry i missed your comment. but the left side is completely adjustable to match the right, very easy to diy with just a ratchet

not at all from mine! I'm running stock downpipes fyi

I dont like the part only 2 of the 4 pipes are working in this exhaust. Depends on closed or open. Doesnt seems right to me.
i see what you’re saying but that’s how even the stock exhausts work on s55 cars
@@f82regpaqye at least stock both side get smoke. In the winter it just looks like the other side of 2 outlets are fake. Dont like that idea.
why do your tips stick out so much? is that normal fitment?
there's some adjustment there, but it's designed to poke out a bit. it wouldn't look as out of place if i had a more aggressive diffuser 👍
