Great advice. I film myself regularly as part of my ArtistWorks video submittals to Sierra (who BTW highly recommends filming yourself or playing in front of a mirror as well as learning from as many sources as possible, hence here I am), and have noticed my LEFT shoulder is habitually raised. I'm a right handed picker. I'm wondering if that affects speed, as it certainly must add tension to my playing. I'll be more conscious of that now, and of the pick depth. Thanks!
Thanks Charles! I still have the shoulder problem pop up sometimes. It’s the first thing I look at if I pick up my mando and can’t play fast. Sierra has some fantastic content! So glad you’re doing that and taking advantage of the video exchange!
Very thorough!...Great teacher...
Thanks Bobby! Glad it was helpful, and thanks for watching! - Nate
Very good point! How about a lesson on crossing strings, especially back and forth?
Great suggestion! I’ll add it to the list!
