      The paper on the door suggests Vietnam for the weaving part. Signs on the store in the middle part is Philippines. I don't recognize the language on the third quarter with the peeler machine. The last part is maybe Indonesian.

    If all sea ports in the world will use natural materials like coconut and abaca ropes instead of synthetic/plastic/ toxic materials. The world will be a better place. This is reliable and very eco friendly. ❤

      Philippines was doing this and even the hemp we made it as very strong ropes

      3:59 they use syntetic rope to set the tension for a reason: coconut rope is not strong enough to be used on ships. That’s why they use it in mats.

      @@noeraldinkabam in sealing cocounut fibers are used with ecoresin, something like fiberglass is made. This sistem is used nowadays for surf boards too.

    Nice to know all parts of coconuts are useful to make household items, also to make chicken feeds and healthy edible for humans Everything from coconut is organic.

    Awesome weaving techniques!!
    I love freshly picked coconuts, the coconut water & the coconut meat!! We cut them with a machete as well, in Guatemala!!

    Same as cotton or wool the fibers are stronger after twisted together much like grass rope, I like the way they are making the mats

      In tropical countries where coconut is abundant, nothing gets wasted. There are lots of products that come out from that tree. It’s amazing how they utilize every part.

    This is really good for helping fertile root growth in pots, unfortunately 1 small bag is quite expensive in Indonesia.

      What equipment would you buy to import coconuts and use the throw aways for when there are no facilities here to recycle... hmm not a practical supposition.

    هذه الصناعة كانت رائجة في شمال المغرب وهو تحويل شجرة الدوم إلى نسيج..والدوم نوع مصغر لجوز الهند..وخيوطه يعتبر من أجود النسيج صحيا..وأظن والله أعلم..أن إيطاليا مازالت محافظة على هذه الصناعة..

    they are great addition to kitchen runners and great at absorbing oils but yeah once the lifespan is done, we may need to change it every 4-6 months, and our cats seems to love these mats by the entrance doors and their litter boxes as they uses it to maintain their nails.

    I saw somewhere that cellulose based fibers have more resistance to sunlight than man-made fibers. Of course, they will rot but maybe they can be treated with something organic to help that.

      Just like you go from cotton fluff to cotton fiber

      Have a look at how yarns are made..be it wool fibre, cotton fibre, etc. When the lady is fluffing the yarn rubbing with her hands, it's like carding it prior to being spun by the machine. Yarns can be done with a drop spindle, spinning wheel or commercial machine. You can even spin dog hair too 😊

    Those were some heavy duty mats made at the beginning.
    Fishermen I watch regularly refer to coconuts as 'God's Nuts'. I find it hard to disagree. Along with bamboo, another of our God's creations that has so many uses and both seem invisible to us in the Western world.
