Thanks for the update Omar. I heard this was coming a month ago. You do realize that this is for regular service and above, meaning it is going to cost at least $75/card? SGC is not going anywhere for a while. They have the vintage collectors right now and if it wasn't for the set register PSA would be second in the vintage world. Until next time....
Cool by PSA. I don't see how it's a "nail" to SGC. It's all about $$$ so as long as SGC remains solidly in second place from a volume perspective, they'll be around. I like SGC due to CONSISTENT grading, FAST turnaround times, EXCELLENT pricing, and NO uncharged. All of that hasn't gone away since they were bought.
So do you see how all the things that you like about SGC, PSA/CU cannot have around? I mean why would they? Why have 2 totally separate operations when you can dismantle and have all those resources in one premium tope tier product.
@RetroHoopCollectibles I understand your point but I also know all too well how corporate America works. CU is like an equity firm purchasing multiple companies, some in the same market. They want all of them to thrive and maximize revenue/profit. I was with a software company that was purchased in exactly this way. The equity firm had many companies, at least a few were our competitors, and they left it that way (dating back 3 years and still going). Like I said, it's ALL about $$$. If SGC is "killed" by CU, loyalist to SGC won't quickly, or ever, switch to subbing with PSA. I stopped subbing with PSA about a year ago. The grading was too wildly inconsistent. How many stories have we all heard about getting a slab back from PSA, cracking it, and resubmitting it with the result being a grade or two higher? Perhaps it's because they grew too fast and had inexperienced graders. I'm not sure but I've heard it recently as well. I simply won't sub to PSA any more, regardless. I'm interested to see if there's a play with CGC and Fanatics, especially since they opened a drop off location in a Fanatics. That could be a very powerful combination. Time will tell on all of this.
Well since buyout I've now considered using tag grading only . Always had issues with psa now clear they want to end sgc and imo will likely do so . As from what I've seen in person thru friends subs really like tag system and can't wait to use it myself.
Buy out the competition…transfer their employees, pay off management to not complain, take their intellectual property, keep the cheap oversized SGC slab and not so great slab photos.
With imaging and laser tech where it's at. It won't be hard to make a border "template". As long as the card isn't moving around it's neat. 20 year CO2 laser tech here.
For the die cut cards why not just place the card in a penny sleeve & slab it like what BGS does. To me having a mold die cut slab might rattle the card around.
@ correct, but you’re talking about them back to back as being something PSA address with this. PSA is just putting the die cuts in custom shaped sandwich baggies if you pay them $75 to $100 per card.
“At no additional cost” requires Regular service at $75 to $100 per card. Lmao, this is a completely irrelevant update that will only impact the high end cards. They are addicted to their insanely high fees, this is just bait, end of story.
It's 1 very small step forward for PSA. I think PSA Sorting out their wonky holders should be 1st priority.

Clickbait title?
Maybe a little exaggerated but sure….We’ll go with clickbait. Did it work? 😏
Yes, this only impacts 0.1% of subs, die cuts only.
@@RetroHoopCollectibles Your rant paints you in a bad light!

they won't remain solidly in second unless PSA buys out CGC, CGC is coming for the non PSA market for anything that's not vintage.

Hmmm, nice idea. I think this is more of a BGS killer than SGC threat. Not that BGS needed more reasons to not submit to them.
BGS is dead for sure.
Sgc sub numbers been down alot and the grading standards have took a hit. Sgc just isn't the same.
I'm a buyer , not a seller. SCG looks better
Agree love the tuxedo.
You lost me here. Why is a pSA die cut fit going to take out SGC?
Die-cuts are about 0.01% of cards graded. It is cool, but will have minimal impact in the grading world.

Star Wars & Vintage are great for SGC. Plus the dramatic heel turn by Omar is wild only kidding my man lol
Stickers are not die cut either.

Who are you grading with right now?
That video comes out Monday.
I think PSA sucks on the point that they charge on basic of card value and turn around time is kind of long just like Beckett
PSA has slabs for older T206 cards and many smaller vintage cards like Goudy and Bowman's.
Honus Wagner T206 is not die cut, lmao. You really gonna slap $75 to $100 down per card?
I don’t think I said t206 was die cut. But it is different in size to what you would consider a traditional trading card.

It'll have zero effect on SGC 🤣🤦♂️
With all the sha dy stuff going on with psa! I dont like them, the ba d grading, and poo r service. Plus grading autos not cards is nons ense
I wont use psa they suck. Sgc only for me. Enjoy ur psa 6,7s and 8s . On gem mint cards
SGC IS SHITTY!!
SGC will be around, long after this clout-chasing content creator is not longer relevant, nor alive!
