When everyone was buying Zion I was buying Joker! I never wanted any Zion simply for the pop report. I remembered what happened to the hobby and Ken Griffey in 1989.
Same! I have plenty of serialized rookies i scored for below $100 back then. Seemed like the obvious move, but idiots need to be told what to do and play into other people's hands.
Modern card collecting is like playing Russian roulette. Zion may go down as one of the biggest NBA busts of all time. That’s why I stay in my lane with vintage lol.
I didn't invest in Zion back in the days due to high prices, but I did take a chance on picking up some Ja Morant RC & just flipping them till I landed on my grail card. Collecting new modern players are overprinted even if you hit a 1/1
I'm really glad I sold most of my Zions during the bubble! I sold a base prizm draft picks for $100 back then 🤦glad I saw his downfall coming. The dude is just too big to play like he does and very unmotivated
Good times. 2012 is first year of Prizm. $15 for psa 10? Wow. My son and I sold these for $600 each in 2020. I don’t have these stories because I don’t buy singles.
@ to me it’s all about the rookie class. There sleepers in that class. I personally loved 2017 with Tatum / Ball / Fultz. I bought FOTL for $120 per box and a personal hobby case. Hobby has come a long way. They bitched then too. 😂
Never been a fan of Prizm silvers when you can buy their rookie autos for 50% of what their silvers go for. Prices for 2019-20 (Zion-Ja) Hobby boxes got crazy. Prizm Hobby boxes for $1500-2000+? Of course their Prizm silvers and rookie autos were going to be overpriced as well. It was obviously a bubble if you have been collecting years prior. I stayed away buying them. Compare to 2018-19 (Luka) Hobby Prizm boxes were $250-300. You can buy Luka rookie autos in the $200-300 price range, his Prizm silvers in the $500 (before COVID hit).
My perspective is this….. You sold the card for $15. The cost to grade a card at PSA is around $15. So in essence…. the card by itself is perceptibly worthless. All the value in the card is in the plastic slab surrounding it and PSA label itself 😮
LMAO... "Very Very Iconic card" 🤣🤣🤣 You flippers crack me up!
More iconic than the 52 Mantle

Now that was a smart move!
Joker is good, but will not be popular enough to invest. Look at Olajuwon. Olajuwon is good , but no one wants him

You may have been wrong about Zion but you've never been wrong about the Birdman! And my stock continues to rise if you know what i mean...
😂😂
I’ve got an SGC 10 of that card (base). The only silver lining is that I pulled it from a blaster so I almost broke even on the blaster now.
Keep up with the great content and keep pushing through the grind and the hustle
Appreciate that, thanks for watching!
Wow man, what a time. I never got that Zion prism card because it was too expensive. I can’t believe $15 now
Yeah man, that was a huge gamble and it didn't pay off.

Ja is still a viable play IMO. He is evolving in his game and still has a high ceiling.
Collecting Ja is same as collecting Gary Payton . In 7 years, No one will care about Ja
Buy and hold. Thats how you win!
That is exactly what lost people thousands here.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Im making a killing on cade cunningham. 40 percent up this season

Whats Funny is I still feel there could be redemption for him. Call me crazy.
Bought a base psa 9 for$290 then and it costs $13 now....

you know i been doing some digging. 2014-15 Prizm is a nice set and highly slept on

I'm with you on that one, rookie autos are definitely the way to go.
I'm pretty sure everybody took a loss.
Zion is 50 % of what Blake griffin is. You can’t give away Blake griffin cards for free .

Yeah I agree.
Wemby is next. He keeps getting hurt. Is rookies are going to tank hard.
I agree. I never paid for a single Wemby RC. I always hit them and sold them as part of my normal degenerate wax ripping. lol.
Wemby is the next Ralph Sampson.
@@sting114 Nahh... Wemby will probably break his ankle or knee before the season is out. He is just too thin.
Wemby need to hit up McDonald's Super size meal to put some meat on them skinny ankles
You guy are idiots. Every player has injuries every soo often. Wemby has been a beast for two years now. He's the next mega superstar.
Idk about iconic.
Memorable. Definitely will carry a story with it in the history or sports cards. It’s our modern version of the Griffey Rookie
