I was so fortunate that a friend I grew up with had all his music, bought everything he ever released, even found bootlegs of unreleased material! Even when I couldn't buy a cassette or CD myself, he had it and shared it with me. Prince is definitely one of the greatest musicians and performers of our century. I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said about his albums in this video! Like, every single thing. I was floored by your incredibly good taste! lol =)
People forget that Prince and Rick James had a bit of a rivalry back in the day. I consider myself a Rick James guy but Prince is undeniable. What an artist. Extremely talented.
Yeah, that rivalry between the two is very fascinating to me. Especially since people always compare Prince and Michael Jackson. I feel Prince and Rick are closer musically than Prince and Michael.
Pandemonium is an amazing Time record so prioritize picking it up, but also....they released Condensate under the name "Original 7ven" because Prince owned the rights to the name "The Time." Ironically, Condensate is hands down the best Time album.
