“I’ve got kids now, pessimism is not an option”.
Yes, that is a thing that was said.
I dont like Dave Smith's take on Israel. He has no fucking clue on that subject. Otherwise..Its hard not to like him.
That lady is right, leftism is a religion with no absolution or redemption...
I have no doubt libertarianism can win against the woke far left. What I worry about NOW is the pendulum swinging too far to the right and being right back to square one.
What's eerie is that they seem to be doing exactly what I suggested when I commented on the video the introduced the new series. Or maybe they already had this in mind, and my ideas just paralleled their ideas.
Anyway, the idea of people waking up from "woke-ism" is exciting. How much more bonkers can woke-ism get, anyway?
It’s gonna be a fight. Literally.
Always has been. The names change, but the philosophy does not.
Guys, please call Dave Smith more. He needs you not to go into complete radical echo chamber. And you need him too. Probably for the same purpose.
So nice of you to invite "Comedian" "Interviewer" over, love his stuff
"Just asking questions", but then constantly interrupting and giving lectures.
I just remember no tyranny in history, however oppressive, was ever perfect. They can't literally suppress everything for everyone all the time. You just have to live your life in the holes to the greatest extent possible.
It's not easy, I don't succeed at it myself, but the fact there's some kind of option is helpful for my mental and emotional health.
Repeal the NFA and GCA!

I like Libertarians; it keeps us Conservatives grounded.
This is when Dave Smith's adlibing is at its worst.
As someone who has spent entirely too many days of his life reading journals and doing historical research, his 1845 analogy is SO far off point it undermines his intent. I get his argument, but it fails hard in the land of documentation and facts. (spoiler alert: By 1845 the slave trade had, in fact, been banned for a human lifetime and the general opinion was slavery was a dying institution and some form of succession was inevitable. War opinion was all over the place, with equal amounts believing war was inevitable with others thinking it could be avoided. The election of Lincoln forced the issue as he was VERY adamant he was willing to wage war to prevent succession and openly supported violence to support that end from the likes of John Brown and others).
Slavery didn't end.
^
Indeed. Aside from there being overt slavery in many nations the concept of “free” money IS the demand for “free” labor.
Agreed, but I think he meant in the legalistic sense and only in the United States.
Explain please.
Complete ignoreance
Ironically, you misspelled "ignorance".
Dave should run for president
He said multiple times he doesn't want to
Bitcoin fixes this.
Puritanism
By their fruits ye shall know them. That's not by what they said, did, or intended but by what actually comes of their efforts. The aftermath of communism is what we can truly judge it by, not by their lofty goals or the popularity of their movement, but by its fruits. Similarly with identity politics, gender theory and open borders, even an intensely misinformed public can see it now, and their fruits cannot be denied in Portland, New York, California and Pensylvania avenue.
The one thing that makes me most optimistic as a libertarian, is my religious worldview. If you only lived 90 years and that was the end of it, the harms of this life would be quite egregious indeed. However, if eternity in Heaven is real, then this life is just light momentary afflictions compared to what's to come.
That's a very pessimistic view to take.
Lots of complext terms were thrown around without defining them. Might as well be obfuscating.
Define obfuscating
@@terraflow__bryanburdo4547 "Go away Bernard. 🤦🏻♂️"
You know as a libertarian I usually say that my ideology is the political equivalent of a child molester: It's not currently legal. it probably never will be and it is disgusting to most people. Maybe I should say this instead.
I think you need a better metaphor.
@@ryanleemartin7758 yeah I guess a big difference is that I do t actually favor child molestation haha
Which religion she's talking about
She casts wokeism as its own religion, and I would agree.
Wokism. It's a bit of a stretch but the analogy is that woke leftism has filled the need for religion in many people's lives.
@@SoybeanAKI still don’t know what ‘wokeism’ is… and I still can’t get a definition from anyone
@@prancer1803 Well I'm not sure if that's you asking me or what, but basically, wokeism is a term mostly used derisively to describe an attitude/philosophy adhered to be a lot of modern, heavily left-leaning individuals that places primary emphasis on a sort of hyper-sensitive deference to any form of perceived disadvantage. Started with millenials referring to themselves as "woke" as in "being aware of [very real, or entirely imagined] social justice issues in the world, and intent on fixing them." Unfortunately it's evolved to a state where they consider the only acceptable attitude to be one of ceaseless obsession with power and oppression. Often characterized by a drive to be seen as a victim, at the cost of perspective. Hence you get people claiming for instance that the modern day U.S. is the worst place in history to be a woman or minority, despite not naming one single other time or place that would be better.
Apologies for the wordiness. It's difficult to sum up such a nebulous school of thought, but in short, an attempt to right wrongs morphed into a cultural influence that shames people for illogical reasons.
@@SoybeanAK interesting. Obviously most people watching reason tv are libertarian - in other words if other people want to be woke then who cares.
paying a lot of middel manegers an absurd amount of money = that's part of the middle class you want to eliminate ? mmh a lot of i feel statements. we still have a huge amount of waste so we need bad times alot more do to us being bad at self control and beastial spending it takes generations
