I decided after 41 years of marriage that we had too much stuff and I didn't want some poor soul having to go through it all when we are gone. Even though I do send quite a few big sacks of clothes and stuff to the charity shops yearly, there is still more we could do. So I explained this to my husband. We went through some cupboards together, got rid of a lot of stuff, but the things that he wanted to keep I saved in a cabinet and set of drawers and I packed them away, so that he could find them easily and he likes it. He's happy, I'm happy. I am not more important than him. He is not more important than I am. It's about working together to achieve the best that works for both of us.
I am glad we broke up with my ex.aside from the reason he cheated on me. He was also very messy at home. I also followed his mess and it made me crazy. He is also fond of keeping things that for me was already trash like earphones that are no longer working and paper clutters😩😩old reciepts and stuff. 🙄

Simple. I don't plan to have a spouse. Even that aspect of my life is minimalist.
