You are a true hero!! I’m the time of need your video helped us get out generator going again. Here’s a little contribution for your efforts in trying to help complete strangers. God bless ❤️👍
Thanks for this video. Taking apart a carburetor scared the crap out of me. This video really simplified it and gave me the courage to do it. My generator is back up and running thanks to you. Thank you!
Generator would start, run 5 to 10seconds and shut down. The low oil light was on, but the the oil level was full. I found the yellow wire coming out of the crankcase, disconnected it and electrical taped both connectors so they wouldn't touch each other or any part of the generator. It started and ran like a Rolex. Thanks for the very helpful, detailed and easy to follow instructions.
Tried to start my generator yesterday. It is the exact model you have so finding this was lucky for sure. Today I did as you show and found the jet clogged, a bit of cleaning and reassembly and it started right up. Without the guidance i would not have fixed it most likely , Thanks for helping me get it running again!
Thanks mate, you got me going again. When I checked my oil level, it was almost empty but after I topped it up, the generator started immediately. You have saved me a lot of hassle. Well done and great video.
Very good tip Mate ! I oftentimes forget to check suchlike things. Cheers ! One reason I love the Harbor Freight Neon Spark checker, you can test for spark with virtually any engine that produces a spark save anything that has individual coils on each cylinder.
The air compressor blowing out the carb did it for me! After over two hours of playing around with it I was about to take it to the curb. I watched your video, now it runs beautifully... THANK YOU!
I have to thank you for saving me from buying a new generator. I had the carb off apart and back on in 1hour it started right away. awesome video! and I am a carpenter not a mechanic:)

Thanks so much for the tutorial. I had been trying to get my generator that sat for over 4 years going and had no luck. You showing how to take the carb apart and clean helped tremendously. My generator started on the first pull.
I like your accent, also this is helpful. I'm trying to fix our undiagnosed Husky 1850W, and while watching this I'm cleaning the chassis because it hasn't been interacted with for 5 years or more.
My generator would only run if I sprayed carb cleaner in carb. I took the carb off, cleaned it per your instructions, and it starts first pull now !!! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Thanks for the lesson.
Many thx for the video … my carburetor interior and particularly the float were a deep yellow colour. I tried compressed air and a deep cleaning but didn’t work. Starting again tomorrow but planning on disassembling and cleaning the jets with carb cleaner and steel wool - wish me luck
@@mygiguser works now, thx for the excellent video and the 🤞. the main jet didn’t appear to have a slot in the brass bolt. Thoroughly cleaned the jets with carb cleaner and slid a thin needle through the tiny holes in the jets. Didn’t start last night but this morning it’s working like a … we’ll, like a generator
Spark plugs rarely fail on small engines, I work on them it’s usually the carburetor that’s clogged up because of ethanol gas. Spark plugs usually last the life of the engine
Drain the old gas, open the screw on the bottom of the carburetor as shown in the video, put everything back together, fill in new gas and you're good to go.
Check thermal circuit breaker sometimes they fail open circuit and won't reset check wiring and sockets for continuity you should be able to test the resistance of the stator through the mains outlet and this will prove the generator will work if there is a rotating magnetic field. If the generator has been dormant for a long time and it is self exciting type the rotor can lose residual magnetism needed to self excite unfortunately only way to fix that is remove the rotor which is the spinning bit inside the alternator and give it some loving with a strong magnet not important to be perfect just enough to leave a residual field to get things moving probably not a bad idea to test the diodes in the rotor field f accessible then put it back together and run the generator it will establish correct magnetic field once it's generating again. If unit is externally excited then could be a faulty avr ( automatic voltage regulator ) board or worn brushes and in rare cases open circuit winding in rotor in this case repair gets expensive.

I guess the consensus is that the problem was old gas. I didn't see a lot of gas in the carburetor. I use leaded gas in my small engines. Its expensive and the octane is high, however, the ethanol content is 0%. Ethanol invites moisture (water) into the carburetor and before you know it, you are either rebuilding the carburetor or replacing it. The alternative to leaded gas, if you can't find it, is to buy gas with a low ethanol content and treat it with StaBil gas additive.
@@mygiguser thank you! My adjustable wrench couldn't fit the tight space but I managed to remove it with pliers. Thanks to your instructions I was able to make the generator work.
