I've been playing music for nearly 20 years now and this is the first time I've found myself in a position where I don't have a dedicated rehearsal space to play at full volume. There is so much you can do at home with a laptop now, so I'm excited to try it out - your video was really helpful for showing me where to start.
Im a beginner obsessed with the Electric Guitar. I just want to say this video is really concise and on point. Well done! I appreciate this a lot, since I will be recording my progress soon.
I looked for 14hrs for all of this information and woke up the next day.. started to find pieces till i found this!!!! You're brilliant, amazing wonderful, beautiful, GAWWWDD TYSFM you're a pinnacle piece in what my aspirations aspire. i cant thank you enough teach and will give you a shout out
Having just bought my first audio interface yesterday (4i4) and followed the setup tutorials from the manufacturer, I still had about a dozen questions. This video has answered all of them! Thanks very much.
Jane answered all my end-to-end questions on recording my guitar in a clear, straightforward and focused manner. No extraneous bunny trails or wasted time. Just clear information delivered in a voice that's easy on the ears. (Actually, I'm from north America and could listen to her accent all day long)
been playing for ages .. 3 decades ,, but i've felt ,this year was only the beginning .. beeing stuborn to record myself (due to lack of equipment and knowledge and skills to do that) .. but with this video ,, ..i've learned alot and satrted last week .. to record myself and re-listened over and over and record over and over to polished some licks... from being just a mediocre guitarist to becoming a"good guitarist" i could say.. thanks a-lot
Have viewed several videos so far and all were good, but this really covered it ... so straight to the point and informative. Exactly what I was looking for as far as getting started. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this review. I ordered a 2i2 3rd ten yesterday and was looking for an easily understandable tutorial and this is by far the best i have come across. Splendid work ;-)
Thank you for this video. So many others assume you have knowledge of several aspects and skip over them. You are the only one that covered several different ways to to accomplish a recording. I've subscribed.
I am just looking into home recording music and am not sure how to get started ,but discovering your channel and the video content and your knowledge of how to go about producing home recording, I find that I am going to be just fine with this task. Thank you.
Thank you very much. 16 minutes and 17 seconds of the very information I was looking for after poring over dozens of other videos before this. Also, the bonus of mic amp and portable recording is worth mentioning.
I've been using the same interface and Reaper for a year and a half. This video is the best instructional you can find as a home recording guitarist. As for guitar tones, I've been using Guitar Rig 5 as well, then moved to Amplitube 4 which I highly recommend. Each software has its own learning curve so give yourself some time. I've also played on multi FX units, analogue pedals and half stacks back in the days. But the current setup suits me better.
@@coolman1610 the free version has one Fender like amp and one Marshall like amp, basic pedals, matching cabinets and movable mics. I've also assigned my Akai Midi knobs to the virtual amp knobs which works awesome
Very nicely presented. I’ve watched a bunch of RUclips videos about recording and they just confused me. The others talk and navigate too quickly and assume people already know this stuff. I would give you two thumbs up if I could but that would erase the first one! Thank you
After much confusion on what direction to go with recording and looping for personal practice sessions you hit the nail on the head, simple and uncomplicated, and no mansplainging😘
Actually many pedals can be used as an interface now. I started out with a guitar into a digitech pedal with amp and cab simulators into the microphone input on a pc. Many will connect directly to computers with USB cables. Didn't sound the best and I was stuck with whatever sound was going in, but it can still be done.
I was considering making a video simplifying recording guitar with the focusrite. Too bad many videos are made with the assumption the audience knows more than they do. Your video broke it down to the most basic level for those who may be seeing this for the first time. Excellent job, in my opinion! 👏
Hi there, greetings from Bolivia. I just viewed your video and found it very helpful. It is clear, consistent and well explained. Most of the principles to electric guitar also apply to bass playing which is what I do. I also prefer Reaper because I found it cheap and convenient. Congratulations.
Very helpful ,thankyou. The tip about the smaller capsule condenser mic for amp recording has inspired me has haven’t done this since 4 track tape days .should get something interesting out of a boss katana 50 .thankyou
Hello Jane, What is that type of wire you used in method or step no: 5 ?? I have a GTX50 amplifier and I want to record using this silent method.. Thank you for this informative content!!!
You are so awesome! Thank you so much! All your videos are so nicely explained and easy to follow. I have a condenser mic, focusrite, amp, can you please tell me of all the great options what is the best way to get the most top notch quality sound? As I have no idea which should I try. Keep up the great videos! Thank you
Thank you for your lovely kind words. You have all the equipment to try any! Maybe start by using the mic to record the amp, and compare it to what you can do when you record your guitar direct through the Focusrite. Good luck 👍
Love it best video I have seen easy for the over 60's to understand. One question I can sing and play guitar at the same time on the Focusrite Scarlett 2x2 usb ?

You deserve a medal!! thank you.

Hi, whyd you switch from guitar rig 5? If I may ask as someone interested in recording
