People can be fascinated with abnormal psychology for different reasons. This man is so lucky that he escaped one of the most evil men ever to walk the planet. Jack Merrill is an inspiration!

I was in high school when this all happened. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was born in Chicago and still live in the Chicago burbs. I am so glad that you survived. The Lord was looking over you that day. And believe it or not, as I was watching you explain how you were able to go back home. I was thinking I would have done the same thing to greater my chance of surviving. I will say there is nothing wrong with people that have an interest in Serial Killers. I'm one of them. I like to figure out what makes them think and do what they do. Not that you want to know (maybe others here do), my late husband and I were in the area about 20 years ago and drove by. The house was torn down (obviously), there is a house about twice the size of the original house and they changed the address by two numbers. Everyone deals with trauma differently and we have to respect that.
You did the right thing to make sure you survived and you're right he only had that night and you don't have to give him another second that you don't choose too.
