    I am service connected with migraines and these things are still with me ,my doctors said there is not enough information on the brain to make a determination , ive been out of service since 78. I also think its doing damage to my brain and my life.

    Chronic Pain. Welcome to my world. I really cannot remember when I have not been in pain. The pain and constant ringing in the ears is a constant companion these days .

    How would one go about obtaining a diagnosis for chronic pain?

    • @woodslawyers
      @woodslawyers  10 месяцев назад +2

      A service connection must be established for all VA disability claims. A claim for VA disability benefits for chronic pain must include evidence that the pain manifested or worsened during your service. There are several ways to go about this.
      - Pain manifesting in service
      - Pain aggravated by service
      - Chronic pain diagnosed after service

It can be your primary care physician or a VA doctor. My claim for chronic pain was just denied today. Today has been very rough and I have been obsessing over solutions. They said "We have continued the assigned 20 percent evaluation for your thoracic back strain (claimed as chronic pain secondary to your service connected back condition) based on:
    -Forward flexation of the thoracolumbar spine greater than 30 degrees but not greater than 60 degrees."
    I am so confused and disheartened because I filed for "chronic pain as a secondary to my thoracic strain" So why are they just focusing on my thoracic back strain? Did my local VA officer word the form incorrectly to get the VA to only focus on the back strain and not the chronic pain secondary condition?

    • @woodslawyers
      @woodslawyers  8 месяцев назад +1

      Veterans who wish to increase their VA disability benefits can take several different approaches, including filing a claim for an increase in benefits, adding additional service-connected conditions, appealing a rating decision, or seeking individual unemployability benefits. You can learn more about each of these ways here: www.woodslawyers.com/va-disability-increase/?.com&ChronicPainLori&CommentShare
