I love the male commander's voice acting. He sounds like a real person, shaken, afraid, yet driven. The voices from the other Homeworld games never bothered me, but he sure stands out.
I really like how ragtag the mining fleet is at the start with tugs turned into ramming frigates, no real corvettes just two fighters stapled together....and that is also reflected in the dialogue. The CAAL-SHTO smugly suggests that they "find someplace save to ride this one out" while the real warriors deal with it. Yea, then we see later what happened to these particular warrior kith.
You know I was looking to see if anyone posted about that! Honestly I think it wasn’t meant in a jerk/ fully superiorist way when the CAAL-SHTO said that. I mean it was absolutely them being haughty a bit, but not like, “Now sit back ladies and watch the men take care of this!!” levels of, well kiithsplaining. Haha!

I'm very late on this but whatever, you missed a cutscene in the nebula when you move a craft near the base before the first wave of fighters is sent out, if you keep said craft close to the base, Tactician will warn you every time a wave leaves the base.
It really sounds like they just grabbed some poor intern who has never done any voice acting in his life and had him read lines for the end of mission cutscene. It's jarringly bad.

Several scenes are very reminiscent of Captain Sheridan from Babylon 5. Look up the confrontation with Kosh scene. I'm sure it was an influence

I always captured the Cruiser guarding the exit of the nebula, it was handy to have around.

Colony ship mission is the most brutal one. They never had a chance to begin with and you can't save everyone.
If you run like HELL! You actually can. It requires sending recons on evasive blazing towards the other end of the map.
