    OMG YOU’RE A GENIUS!!! You’ll go down in history as the woman who tied a knot! Seriously though, THANK YOU for this!! Making a huge blanket with lots of joins in color and the regular old knot just wasn’t working for me. I’m so grateful you made this video!! 🙏🏼

    I’ve just come across this video 2 years after it being posted. I’m crocheting a queen size blanket with velvet yarn and it’s been a nightmare to join in the new ball of yarn. Up to ball 6 with really no success! This technique is amazing. Thank you so much. You are very very clever!! Onward with the next 11 balls.

    Thanks for sharing this technique. With my yarn - Bernat Velvet - the core threads keep breaking off, no matter how gingerly I pull off the fluff. The yarn is probably 3 or 4 years old. I suppose the threads could have deteriorated. Since I'm making a scarf for myself, I'm going to just tie a knot. I only need one.

      I have Bernat blanket yarn and when I tried to follow the directions in this video, it didn't work for mine either. The core threads seemed really stretchy and not at all stable. The core threads just kept on pulling through the Bernat yarn. 😢

    You are such a blessing to me!!!
    Thank you so much!!!

    You are a life saver……..I just had to frog a row of a #6 Super Bulky Yarn and some of the fluffy yarn was pulled off and left a bare gap…..so I cut out the damaged section and used your technique to rejoin the yarn…..it took me two tries to get the threads tied closely but I was finally successful!!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻 ty for this helpful video!! I was in the middle of a one color project……

    Thank you! That is a great idea of joining Chenille yarn together! I secure tie and hide my Chenille yarn with tooth floss or I also use the same color thread I’m crocheting with to sew it to secure and hide it too.

  • @lizmikols2075
    @lizmikols2075 Год назад

    looks good. Have you thought about adding a "double overhand knot" for every other of the simple overhand knots? In Girls Scouts we learned to take a square knot and add an extra twist for one of the "sides". This was used only when the two line/ropes were thin or slippery. It gave a bit of extra grab without bulk. A very secure solution for nylon rope (a common material in camping equipment).

  • @jamam4727

    Anyone trying with Bernat yarn, start plucking the fibers from at least one inch away from the end. Work your way out to the length you want the string, then down to the ends (or just before, then snip so you don't unravel the string).

  • @pawsnclawsOG
    @pawsnclawsOG 2 года назад

    Unfortunately this is not working for my chenille yarn (Bernat Blanket). I can remove very little chenille, so I can't get to the core threads. Really disappointed because I'll have to knot or sew the ends together.

      Hi - I guess you could try a sample. It should have a core yarn and thus it should work. Try it on a few inches and then pull on the ends to see if it holds.
