Stimmige Gebäude-Ensembles in westdeutschen Innenstädten sind leider so selten, dass viele garnicht mehr ermessen können, wie schön und kraftvoll sie seinen können.
nicht wichtiger, aber ebenso wichtig, gerade wegen dem Symbolcharakter. Wenn, dann sollte man aber den gesamten Platz um die Paulkirche wieder errichten. Dieser belanglose Schrott der 60ger ist einfach nur noch unerträglich, und dieses Platzes unwürdig.
@@zeisselgaertner3212 gerade diese kraftvolle Wirkung (die keiner Erklärung bedarf) fürchten die Modernisten (Tugend-Wächer der "reinen Lehre") wie der Teufel das Weihwasser. Aus diesem Grund zetern diese Leute ja, als ginge es darum, den Weltuntergang zu verhindern. Rational lässt sich diese kognitive Dissonanz nicht erklären^^

The only thing I hope is that they’d build buildings that are more so like old style but also modern ( because it’s hard to rebuild buildings traditionally in most cases ) rather than just all one building and making it seem like it’s old. ( as I call it; Disney style city planning ) shouldn’t be a thing for historical old towns even if nothing old exists. the sad thing is most of the time it’s all about the money and of it being built more cheaply and fast. However Lubeck did a fantastic job with adding new/old style section of buildings adding them one by one. and they made it look like that it actually fits in with the rest of architecture, so I can only hope that more buildings are built like that in the old town centers, all in all I’m still glad and happy to see that Frankfurt is slowly becoming alive again with this particular building. And I cannot wait to see it when completed. If it does happen, ( note; these are just my opinions )

Are you an American by chance? Here in Germany the political Left is against the hertitage from imperial times, which includes all buildings built before 1918 when the monarchy was finally removed from power. The Left prefers the hideous buildings which were constructed in the G.D.R (DDR) though.
Left claims that historic reconstruction is wanted by people who want to live in the "old germany" and probably dislike modern germany and it's society. Thats why they claim that reconstruction is making the cities look like Disneyland.
I am Left-leaning and I LOVE traditional architecture.
Please do not make an aesthetic issue a political one! There are a LOT of us on the Left who hate modernist architecture and fully embrace traditional architecture. You run the risk of alienating a large segment of people who are your allies on this.
Sadly people like to create conflict where there is simply disagreement.

To be honest there is a tendency of the German left to stigmatize projects of reconstruction as erasing the traces of former guilt.
Instead architectural wounds in our city centers have to be conserved in order to not forget what had happened during WW II.
